seasonofthewitch* when I look out my window, many sights to see. and when I look in my window, so many different people to be. they’re strange, so strange. it’s very strange to me. you’ve got to pick up every stitch. oh no, must be the season of the witch.
Manson. A place somewhere in England he is almost a hundred percent sure of it. Karmelo has never been to England or anywhere in Europe but from what he knows throughout the centuries, it has that very English presence. When Rob teleports him along with Ulysses to this place, he does not know what to expect. He basically gives his trust to two people he knows for like two seconds. At the moment it seems like a good idea to just go with the flow but when he lands on the concrete inside of Manson, he feels a bit terrified. The two men may have been supernatural collectors for all he knows. And yes, there are collectors and they definitely don’t need to be living in this world. The two bids him a goodbye as a person from behind the reception area registers him as a resident of the place. He does not know if this is a good idea what’s done is done so fuck it. He is more than five hundred years old so this sudden adventure in his life is okay with him. He finishes his application and registration so he goes to the dormitories where he gets his own room. When he gets there, it just feels very sad. He wishes he can live in a tree instead but he doesn’t know if that is allowed since they say to him that he level four on restrictions. This does not seem like a normal dormitory if he is being honest. They go underground in one of the buildings and this area is highly guarded for some reason. That’s probably what the restriction level is about. At least he is not a level 5. He wonders how restricted those people are.
After he finishes unpacking his stuff, he decides to seize the day. Carpe diem the shit out of the remainder of the day. It’s only 11:25 so he decides to go out and find a forest or something that may resemble that. A place with trees and all that. As he tries to step out of the area, a guard stands in front of him with a very strict look on his face. Karmelo just gives him a genuine smile and says, “Hey, I’m just going out to find a forest,” he then scratches his head, “is there one around here?” The guard looks at him seemingly confused at how ordinary the man is. He even thinks that he looks like a teenager with all those features. “There is one but because you are a level 4, you have to follow some ground rules. And sometimes, you may need a guard following you.” Karmelo thinks this is such a hassle. He doesn’t see himself that dangerous if he’s being honest. Now that he thinks of it, he kind of blames the two men, Rob and Ulysses. One of both of them probably snitches him. Karmelo slits one throat in front of them for the sake of the fake death and he gets a level four restriction. He guesses he probably can have hid the action from them but he feels like they are in a hurry in that moment. He frowns at the guard and says, “Okay. Tell me the ground rules.” The guard tells him the rules for his level. Karmelo nods in response and informs the guard that he is only going to the forest because he is a nature spirit even if he’s evil and the nature is a very important part of his being. The guard thinks it over and agrees to him that he can go without a guard but if someone spots him in another area, they will drag him back to the facility and he will never have a chance of walking around again without a guard. He promises as he raises his hand as if he’s pledging something.
The guard nods him to go out and Karmelo doesn’t waste his time as he speed walks. He goes out and just tries to feel where the forest may be. All nature spirits have a connection with the trees and the environment so he easily finds the forest. He walks into the deepest area of it and finds a nice clearing where he can sit down and relax. Karmelo knows from feeling the forest that there are no Dakit trees around here and he kind of feels sad about that. He needs a tree as a home that he can go to every now and then. He can stay without it but it will still make him feel miles better if there is one. He sighs and feels defeated but he can do nothing about it. He’s not an encanto who can grow trees so that’s out of the question. Karmelo thinks maybe he can request from the administration to find a sapling or something of Dakit and plant it somewhere around here for him. He can pretend that it’s something that he cannot live without and it’s not a full lie since his kind normally lives in the tree. They only live in houses to be nearer to humans in the cities to curse, enchant, and/or enslave them. So, he can probably ask for one. He smiles at this train of thought of his and looks forward to asking one.

Bianca was loving this place. It had an amazing forest, amazing people and lovely animals running around the woods. And she could just wear nature and roll around in it without having to put on clothing to fit in. It was impossible not to be happy about having come here and found the perfect tree to merge her essence with. The forest seemed to come to life around her tree too, in new ways and all she had to watch out for in the forest was not to get too close to a faerie ring out there. That was easy enough. She had no intention of messing with another nature-based creature’s territory like that. It didn’t matter whether they were good people or not, if they were associated with nature like fae and nymphs were, they all deserved their own place. That morning was off to a lazy start. Bianca had woken up late, she hadn’t even crawled out of her tree completely yet. She was lingering in a root, soaking up nourishment from the ground around her. She had nowhere to go just yet, she would work double-time on the flowerbeds later on. She had yet to settle into a routine after all. Something changed nearby though, so Bianca crawled out of the root. She didn’t know what exactly it was, but she felt like another nature creature was nearby so she just followed that feeling until she came upon the male where he was sitting. She couldn’t resist walking up to him, her body wrapped in just enough flora to be decent, and kneel in front of him. “You!” she exclaimed, smiling brightly at him. “I could feel you nearby, what are you?” she was excited about potentially meeting a new kind of nature spirit, because why else would she sense him like that? Well, sensed him as being familiar. “Bianca,” she offered, sitting back a little to give him a little space. “I mind the forest,” she offered by way of explaining why she was there in the first place, running her hand along the ground and making a small berry bush. Picking a raspberry, she plopped it in her mouth and watched the new guy. “You want one?” she asked. Seemed only fair to offer.

Karmelo is just still sitting down on the grassy ground when a he feels someone coming near to him. He turns his head without moving any part of his body to the direction where the creature is coming. He knows that this is a creature of nature because it is just obvious for him. Most nature or fae creatures can sense another one around the area easily or so he thinks. A girl with different kind of flowers and plants covering her to make her look decent comes in the view and just shouts, “Hey!” out of nowhere. She doesn’t seem angry or threatening him so Karmelo has nothing to worry about. He waits on her to be close to him and he gives her a soft smile and replies, “Hey,” timidly. She then proceeds to ask what he is and that catches him off guard. Most fae or nature creatures can feel his dark aura which is just his natural aura for being an evil encanto. Karmelo guesses that she is probably not focusing enough to notice that he is of the evil kind because she knows he is something.
“I’m a nature spirit, and encanto,” he says. Disclosing his specific kind is kind of something he doesn’t do a lot and also it is a very exotic one which he doesn’t feel like explaining things at the moment. He just wants to act like there’s nothing wrong and maybe this lady can distract him. For fuck’s sake, he gets teleported this morning and then now he is in a place where he has a level four restriction. He needs a breather. The lady introduces herself as Bianca as she sits on the ground too but not close enough to him giving him the space. Karmelo appreciates the action. She also continues to tell him that she minds the forest. Karmelo gives her a curious look. She must be something powerful too like him. He gives her another soft smile and replies, “My name is Karmelo,” he says. “Nice to meet you. I hope you don’t mind I’m in this clearing right now. I just need a breather.”
He then proceeds to lay his back on the ground and put his hands behind his head to act as his pillows. Karmelo releases a deep sigh of relief at the feel of nature around him.

Bianca loved most people. As long as they weren’t hurting the forest or nature for fun, she had no problem with people. In fact, the more the merrier, she loved making new friends. Sure, she might retaliate for littering, but another nature spirit? Oh no, they were welcome any day because she knew they would actually respect nature and appreciate it for the nurture it provided rather than just abuse it. It was part of the reason why she’d been so excited to see the man sitting there, because he would surely appreciate nature as much as she did. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she had a feeling she should know what this man was, other than nature, but she just couldn’t bring it to the forefront of her mind. His dark aura wasn’t registering with her, she was merely picking up on the fact that he felt like nature. To her, good and evil were a matter of perspective. If someone was good to nature and bad to people, they were still good in her books. Whereas if you were good to people and bad to nature, you were always going to be bad news. Bianca closed her eyes for a moment when she learned what he was, but she still wasn’t picking up on any ‘bad vibes’, more a sense of belonging right where he was. When push came to shove, that was really all that mattered to her. “Anyone who loves nature, belongs to it and don’t abuse it… Well, I don’t have a problem with them spending time in the woods whenever. As long as you don’t plan on burning it down, you could soak it with blood for all I care,” she said, chuckling slightly. “A little is always good for promoting growth after all.”While the Dryad wasn’t one to promote violence, or participate in violent acts herself, she had lived in forests over the years that had been battlegrounds and she had seen how they’d flourished afterwards. She knew a little bloodshed was good for growth so how could she pretend like it was a bad thing? “I’ve only lived twenty-four years this lifecycle, so please forgive me. I should know these things, but I don’t remember my previous lives beyond flashes of recognition. Your kind… You usually have a relationship with trees too, right? Like a specific tree I mean?” She asked, wondering if anyone had bothered trying to get him properly situated in this place.

Karmelo agrees with what Bianca says. As a spirit nature and an encanto, nature holds more importance than human lives. Humans may say that the environment is their habitat or living area but to Karmelo, his kind, and everyone who is like his kind, the environment is their literal habitat and life. It’s a part of them and they will not forgive anyone who tries to do something bad to it. One of the most infamous things about Dalaketnons is when they curse people from not giving respect to their home or trees. If they don’t excuse themselves from walking on the roots or just along the the place, they, whether they are humans or not, will pay a price. Dalaketnons are evil nature spirits, yes, but they will never ever do anything that can endanger the nature. Karmelo nods his head as Bianca says that and then talks about blood spilling on the ground for all she cares. “Blood is overrated,” he says. “My kind just abducts humans and make them our slaves by enchanting them. But if we want to kill somebody, we just curse them to death or put an illusion on them to make them delusional.”
Devon looks at the pretty flowers on Bianca’s body and he decides he likes to have a flower. He can’t grow them like Bianca but he can use his telekinesis to bring him some. He sees a shrub of red roses so he uses his power to pull some of the roses with half the stems still intact with the base. As the roses go near him, one of the roses latches onto the crease between his ear and the skin on his head and the others just float around him. “I hope pulling the roses does not offend you, I just got jealous you have pretty flowers all over you,” he explains. Bianca mentions that she only has lived twenty four years of this life cycle. Karmelo nods getting what she means. There are nature spirits like Bianca in the Philippines where they live then die and then live again and so on and so forth. Karmelo thinks the universal or the most popular creatures like that are called Dryads. He’s not sure if Bianca is one though.
Bianca also mentions that she does not remember her past lives. That’s information Karmelo doesn’t know. He’s not that close to creatures like Bianca back home because they’re more of the good nature spirits so he doesn’t have details about them, just the general things like the lifecycle. Bianca then proceeds to ask that his kind usually has a relationship with a certain tree. Karmelo nods at her. “We live in trees called Dakit,” he explains. “They’re also called Balete trees. That’s the only tree we can make a portal to make a home inside the tree.” Karmelo looks around the area and then tries to connect with the land and nature again. He doesn’t feel anything that closely resembles the energy of a Dakit tree. He sighs as he tells Bianca, “Sadly, there is not one Dakit tree here.” The roses are still floating around him as he says this not losing control of them.
Karmelo really wants to have his own tree home. He may be able to not live in one but being in a new environment and with him having a high restriction in this place, which causes him to live underground; it’s ideal for him to have a tree because he may weaken and that’s not a good thing. He may turn unstable and become a really dangerous Dalaketnons. They do not become royal blood spirits for no reason. Manson may need to watch out for him if he does not get his tree. While she would never actively harm a living creature unless her own life depended on it, Bianca didn’t really value human life. Some were good, of course, but some were the worst litterbugs out there. So if humans were hurt, she didn’t really care too much as long as it wasn’t someone she happened to be friends with. When Karmelo was talking about abducting humans, Bianca moved so she was laying on her stomach, placing her elbows on the ground and resting her head on her palms. “Fascinating,” she commented, meaning it too. She might not be evil by nature, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t appreciate other people’s resourcefulness. “Do you need things to make these curses or just words? Or just a touch?” she asked, trying to figure out how what he was differed from say a witch or a leprechaun in how they used their abilities to curse people. Bianca watched the roses fly towards him and smiled. It was hard not to enjoy how much pleasure he seemed to take from having them near him. “It’s a good look on you,” she complimented him, more happy he seemed at ease than upset about the roses. “There’s apparently an unseelie fae around these parts that might take offense at the picking of flowers, but as long as people find genuine pleasure in the flowers, that’s all I care about.” And he seemed to enjoy them, so how could she be upset about that? It wasn’t like he was picking from her tree, so she saw no harm in letting him enjoy the flowers. She didn’t know this fae personally, but she had been told to be careful with him, so it seemed like sound advice to pass on, even to another nature spirit. The only things she really seemed to remember from her past lives were things related to her powers. How to recognize nymphs, dryads, fae and other nature spirits, and vampires. How could she not remember vampires? They had killed her more than once. So she listened intently while he talked about the trees his kind lived in. It saddened her to learn that there was no tree for him here. Not even a sapling from the sounds of it. Searching her mind for a moment, she realized she knew what he was talking about! She’d seen those trees before, felt the powers in them and left pretty flowers. “Come with me,” she said, sitting back up again. “I like company, but I don’t think either of us want a neighbor. I selected a tree a safe distance from the fae ring. Let’s find a spot that’s a safe distance from here?” she suggested. “Just so our roots won’t get entangled and our different energies won’t mess things up for each other? This is fairly close to my tree, you’re of course welcome to wander the whole forest as far as I’m concerned, but we need to grow you a tree of your own.” Bianca couldn’t imagine not having a tree that suited her needs in the forest, so she could sympathize with how he must feel about not having one that suited him.

Karmelo laughs inwardly when Bianca thinks what he says are fascinating. He doesn’t think he’s anything interesting to be honest. Probably to other creatures outside of the Philippines and most pacific islands but not back home definitely. Every creature knows them and what they can do so they just give them a leeway to do whatever Dalaketnons like doing unless they are affected. If they are, they will probably try to talk to the Dalaketnons and try to appease to them and hopefully they leave them alone. To be fair though, they are not the strongest creature but they are really scary with what they can do and the others will just try to avoid crossing paths with them. Bianca then asks if Karmelo needs things, words, or contact to make his curses. Karmelo shakes his head and explains it to her. “Not really. If I look at someone without doing anything, I can create the curse upon the target. Having contact with the target is okay too but the only advantage it has is the curse is stronger.” He brushes his hair back with his fingers and say, “But for me, I don’t really need it. I think my curse is strong enough without contact. Well, speaking from my own experience obviously.”
Bianca tells him that the flowers are a good look on him and so he thanks her for that. Karmelo doesn’t really care for his appearance and even if he does, he thinks he’s just average looking. Although it is known that they’re kind has an otherworldly beauty as humans and as their true forms. Maybe he just doesn’t care about looks. Karmelo thinks beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the say so he thinks everyone is beautiful. Throughout the centuries, he has grown as a human and has learned a lot of things that improves the human in him. Well, there’s nothing human about him except his appearance in this form but what he means is that Karmelo doesn’t need to be human to learn wise things about humanity that he can apply to himself. In that case, he likes to think that he applies the knowledge he gathers to his daily life. This makes him think of Arthur. Not his lover Arthur but Johnny and Janet’s kid who he basically has raised because of his attachment to Johnny and Janet and to them naming their first born after his dead lover. Arthur has informed him before his death that Karmelo has done an exceptional job at giving him and making him live his best life. That is the fuel that fires Karmelo’s soul every single day. To know that he has made a difference to an important person in his life. That is all he needs. Sometimes he feels like he has lost his Dalaketnon ways of being pure evil but there are times that it just comes out. There are days when he just can’t take the stupidity and disrespectfulness of humans that his evilness pours out. It will always be a part of him because that is him first and foremost. He is not human no matter how hard he tries. Karmelo doesn’t wish to be one though but the human world has taught him a lot of things so he gives weight to it.
He tries not to ramble more in his mind as he heards Bianca says that there is an unseelie fae around here that may take offense from the flower picking act he has done but she assures him that as long as the person gets genuine pleasure from the nature the person will be safe. He nods at this not knowing what to say. Karmelo knows of the unseelie as there are courts in the Philippines and Hawaii. Weirdly enough, the Dalaketnons aren’t part of the court. He doesn’t really understand what the deal is but there are some semantics that makes his kind not part of the unseelie courts. Karmelo does not bother to know what it is. He doesn’t mind knowing but he doesn’t really care if he does or doesn’t. His kind doesn’t have bad blood with the unseelie faes but they are just indifferent with each other even though they do most things the same.
After Karmelo explains to Bianca his tree, she asks him to go with her. Before he can ask where they are going, she talks about both of them not wanting neighbours and finding a spot. Karmelo will like to clarify what she means but Bianca does anyway. Basically, she alludes to the fact to Karmelo that he will have a tree somewhere where he is of safe distance from other nature creatures that have homes around here, vice versa. Bianca solidifies what he is thinking when she says that she’s going to make him his home. Karmelo’s jaw drops a bit, his mouth open. He doesn’t know what to say to be honest. He somehow manages to mutter out, “Thank you?” to Bianca with a question. He doesn’t know how and why this is happening all of a sudden but he is not complaining. TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP

Bianca was hanging onto his every word. She couldn’t remember meeting his kind before, but since he was a fellow nature spirit it seemed not only respectful to listen, but also important. She needed to know these things, needed to find a way to attach it to something she’d remember later on. Bianca truly wasn’t asking so she’d know how to avoid crossing him, she was asking because she wanted to know. How could you properly treat someone with the respect they were due if you didn’t know? Not that she was planning on disrespecting him in the first place. “Remind me not to accidentally piss you off,” she said when he was done explaining, chuckling slightly. “I’m a peaceful creature, generally like most people too, so if I do do something to offend you, will you let me know so I can change my behavior rather than curse me?” she asked. It was a genuine request. She didn’t think she would fare too well with curses, she didn’t have any kind of magic that worked on those sorts of things, and if she did offend him it really would be accidental. While she wasn’t one to offend people in general, any offense against nature spirits would be purely accidental as they mostly felt like home. The faerie courts confused her. Bianca didn’t know why they’d have different ones, or a whole different realm, but it didn’t matter. Forests were her domain, not some court or a different realm. Maybe there were other dryads that were bound to a court, but even if she didn’t know it, she had always been in the human world after she had first sprung into existence. Still, it seemed only fair to let him know about the ‘bad’ fae and how he might not like flower picking. She hadn’t really asked about the residents in this place aside from the other fae, simply because she had wanted to make sure that she didn’t step on any toes. While her kind usually lived in oak trees or laurel trees, Bianca had found that any tree older than ten years would do just fine for a home-tree if either of those two were unavailable in the area she was in. She couldn’t imagine what it was like having only one kind of tree that could be a home and knowing that there wasn’t one on the grounds made her determined to change that. She just felt like explaining why they had to get up and move first. Even if she wasn’t picking up on his aura, she was reading him as nature spirit which was never evil in her book, she figured when he said his kind did curses that a little space was probably good for both of them. Not because she wouldn’t like having him nearby, but because they might accidentally mess things up for each other, or their trees end up entwined at some point in the root system, and she kind of liked knowing he’d have his own little space too. “It’s not a problem at all,” she replied, smiling brightly at him when he questioningly thanked her like that. “I couldn’t imagine not having a tree. I mean, for a longer stay somewhere anyway. So if growing one for you will make it more bearable to stay here, it’ll be my pleasure. I only just started working here as a groundskeeper, but if you need help convincing someone you need forest time, I can help with that too.” She could be very helpful when she really liked someone and so far Karmelo had given her no reason to dislike him. Besides, if he needed help with the forest privileges, who better to speak for a nature spirit’s needs than a dryad? “You pick the spot,” she said, getting to her feet, “and I’ll get to work.”

seasonofthewitch* when I look out my window, many sights to see. and when I look in my window, so many different people to be. they’re strange, so strange. it’s very strange to me. you’ve got to pick up every stitch. oh no, must be the season of the witch. Karmelo laughs at Bianca’s first reply after his explanation about his kind. “I consider myself a peaceful one too,” he says, “Compared to most of my kind anyway.” That’s true. He doesn’t kidnap people because that is one activity he doesn’t like. Karmelo do it though when he absolutely needs to like when he borrows their house like with the farmer who owns the land where he has his plantation. The farmer is more enchanted rather than kidnapped because Karmelo allows him to go out but still under his spell. Karmelo then tells Bianca, “Just always say excuse me or anything to show respect when dealing with my kind and you will be safe.” And that’s the gospel truth. That’s basically the loophole his kind tries to go for so they can justify their kidnappings and curses. They do the curses and kidnapping either way but most times they will lure the humans into not being respectful to nature and their trees so they have the right to do whatever to the humans. Karmelo doesn’t know why they still keep this façade since the whole fae and nature community back home knows the truth anyway. Maybe because it is already engraved in their selves since Dalaketnons have been doing this for centuries.
Karmelo is happy that Bianca is going to grow him his own tree. A specific tree called Dakit or Balete tree which is the only kind of tree Dalaketnons can create a portal into his home or realm. This is going to give him the privacy he needs as only his kind can find and cross the portal. Even other fae creatures cannot pass as it is their realm. Karmelo is lucky that Bianca knows how he feels about not having his own tree. “I’ve lived without my own tree but that was when I had someone occupying the emptiness in my heart. Someone who filled in the void of not having a tree,” he explains. Arthur being the first one and then baby Arthur replacing him. Now that he’s alone and in a new home, he needs the comfort of having a tree to fill in the void. Bianca also says that she is the groundskeeper and she is new. “I’m new too,” he starts, “Just got here today and I just asked permission from a guard for me to come to the forest since apparently level fours have restrictions.” Karmelo rolls his eyes as he remembers this fact about him being a level four. “Speaking of,” he says as his face forms a frown, “Do I need to ask for a special permission from the guards for me to come to my soon-to-be tree? Since I’m a level four?” He asks Bianca because she is a groundskeeper which means she is staff who knows about the rules even if she’s new like him. She says she can help with that but he needs to know everything because he doesn’t want to cause trouble in his first few days. It is better to be informed rather than in trouble.
When Bianca tells him to pick a spot he looks around the area to find the right one for his tree. Dakit trees gets really big because they are big but the roots just overgrows everywhere. He closes his eyes and tries to feel the auras around the forest so he can avoid other creatures and find his own space. Karmelo finds another clearing on another area far from other creatures. The clearing is smaller than the one they are in but it’s quaint and good for him. He beckons Bianca to follow him with his hand and then walks to the clearing in his mind. He stops at the center when he reaches the area and tells Bianca without looking, “This is the one.” He smiles with his eyes still not open and takes in a deep breath and releases a sigh of relief. “Perfect.” TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP

Bianca had no doubt that he was being honest. So far, he had been nothing but pleasant and enjoyable. She loved finding these nature creatures around here, it made her feel even more at home than just having a tree ever could. “Might leave some flowers around if that’s ok?” she suggested when he said showing respect to his kind was the best way to avoid getting cursed. She thought leaving flowers around his tree might be the best way she could show respect, because she loved flowers and they were pretty. And what better way to give someone a gift than give a little of herself like that? Having a tree to call home was not only a comfort, but it was also a safeguard in a place with so many vampires. It was the perfect place to hide at night, at least for her, to avoid being dinner again. She too had lived without a home-tree from time to time, but she had realized it drained a lot of her power not to have somewhere she could retreat to, she just imagined it might be similar for Karmelo. At least until he explained about having someone who had filled the void of not having a tree. That still made her think it was an essential part of who and what he was though, so she wasn’t backing down from her decision or offer. “You should probably speak to a counselor,” she said, biting her lip slightly. “Tell them it’s essential for your well-being to be allowed to spend time with your tree. I heard there were others with high restrictions that have allotted greenhouse time because it’s essential for their well-being to be around nature. Some even have their own greenhouses. Could end up with outdoors time on your schedule without needing to ask permission every time that way.” She couldn’t really help him with that, all she could do was make a recommendation based on knowing his species. Or at least, knowing how important it was for nature spirits to be allowed to spend time outside. “You could probably find a specific guard and ask them to take you outside every day too. If it gets put on your schedule, you won’t have to ask every time.” It was the best advice she could give him really. This was going to be his tree, it didn’t seem fair for her to pick a place, so she waited patiently for him to find the right spot. So, naturally, she followed him when he beckoned her like that and settled on the ground in the clearing he’d chosen. “Alright then,” she said, smiling at him. Placing her hands on the ground, she closed her eyes and focused on the kind of tree he needed. “Stand back,” she told him, just to be safe. At first, nothing seemed to happen. It took almost a minute before anything happened at all. But then a small tree started pushing its way through the earth. From there, it was a matter of making sure she didn’t end up damaging the other trees while growing this particular one. It was a lot of taking care not to strangle their roots as this particular tree grew and expanded its roots, but once it had broken through the ground, it didn’t take too long for it to be a decent size. Bianca had almost an earthy-colored glow to her as she worked on all this, soaking up sunlight while she was working. When Bianca sat back, the tree wasn’t as big or old as it would’ve been if it had been naturally occurring in a place Karmelo’s kind usually lived. It was still a very young tree. “I can mature it further in a little bit,” she said, running a hand through her hair. “Trees are stubborn about growing in places they don’t naturally occur, I just need to soak a little sunlight and nature first.” Bianca wasn’t satisfied with the young tree, and would definitely get back to it and help it mature, but right now she really did need to just recharge a little bit first.

seasonofthewitch* when I look out my window, many sights to see. and when I look in my window, so many different people to be. they’re strange, so strange. it’s very strange to me. you’ve got to pick up every stitch. oh no, must be the season of the witch. ”Flowers are great so that’s fine to me,” Karmelo tells Bianca. He’s not a flower loving type of fae if he’s being honest but he appreciates the beauty. The magical ones are better and he knows Bianca is magical so that will be something nice to be added around. When Bianca tells him that he needs to speak to a counselor about him living in a tree every now and then, Karmelo agrees with it. He will probably do it tomorrow when he gets his rest tonight. He still has not wrapped his head around everything that’s happening and he just expects everything to crash down on him tonight before he goes to bed. That’s going to be a hard one so he’s just focusing on what is happening right now which Bianca is helping him get his own tree. “I am probably going to do that soon,” he tells her, “I just need to get some rest tonight and do it tomorrow when I’m fully rested.” Bianca also mentions that Karmelo may even get a specific guard and he likes that idea. He doesn’t need to deal with different guards trying to see if he’s dangerous or something just because he’s a level four restriction.
Bianca then proceeds to tell him to stand back and he guesses this means that she’s about to start creating his tree. Karmelo feels an excitement brewing inside him. He’s really lucky that he meets the groundskeeper who is a dryad on his first day. He better not pushes his luck and just be grateful this is happening. Karmelo then sees the magic happen. The familiar sight of a young Dakit tree grows on the ground and it just makes Karmelo’s heart heavy. He doesn’t know he misses the trees so much. His marijuana plantation has a lot of Dakit trees around but he prefers to stay in his mansion to oversee everything. Working with other Dalaketnons is kind of sketchy because of their nature so he has to be overseeing everything. Bianca tells him that she can grow it out a little bit and Karmelo is fine with that. Trees are really stubborn. Dakit trees only houses his kind and the kapres for some reason so they are very picky on who can live and create portals in them. Bianca says she just needs to just soak on some sunlight and nature which is also fine for Karmelo. “I’m up for anything today. I think I’ll be here for a few more hours then I need to rest.” Karmelo lets Bianca do whatever she needs to do so he transforms to his true form. He becomes really tall with his skin turning pale along with his hair. His ears turn pointy like leaves and his clothes change into his usual royalty clothes. Being a tall fae is something unusual because usually they turn really small but he is a fae that is an encanto so that’s the reason why.
He decides to use his powers so he can do some magical release. They usually wind Karmelo up so he needs to do it. Dalaketnons love using their powers so if he doesn’t use his, it feels like he’s all wind up and makes him jittery. His eyes turn white as it does when he uses his power and just creates ten corporeal duplicates of himself. The ten copies just go around the perimeter of the clearing to look for dangers or just wander around. Karmelo then proceeds to levitate himself and just flies upwards to look around the beauty of the forest. He does not go super high off the ground to not leave Bianca doing her own thing to be respectful. He sees that at least the forest looks beautiful and peaceful comparing to the main buildings and areas of Manson. He takes a deep sigh and takes everything in. TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP

Leaving flowers around was something she tended to do anyway, but she figured it was safer to ask. She might just grow something specifically for Karmelo though. Having first met Kaia and now another nature spirit, she felt like she should make them both something, or bring them things. “I’ll find something not growing in the wild here then,” she told him, feeling like that was the best way to leave him a personal gift on her way past his tree in the future. Right now, growing him a tree should be enough. Since Bianca wasn’t on the staff that dealt the most with residents, she figured suggesting he speak with someone who worked in that department was probably the best thing he could do. All she could really do was impress upon them that nature spirits needed outdoors time and tree-people needed their trees. So she nodded at his words. They were reasonable to her ears and she didn’t have anything else to add. As for the guards… Well, that’s how she understood it to work after her orientation and it seemed like sound advice to pass along. Even if he hadn’t been assigned one just yet, at least he’d know to ask for a permanent one. Growing things usually just made her feel good and happy, it didn’t usually strain her, but since this tree wasn’t local at all, it took more than usual. Didn’t mean it didn’t make her happy or that she wasn’t happy to do it. “If you need me for anything in the future, look for the oak with apples growing on it,” she informed him, feeling like it was only fair he knew for sure which tree was hers when she knew this was his and all. “Even if I’m not there, I’ll know you came by.” As long as she remained on the forest side of the grounds, she would know everything going on at her tree, but if she ventured to the other side, she’d still know if anything bad happened. And know what had happened when she got back there. As Karmelo transformed to this really tall, otherworldly creature, Bianca couldn’t help but stare at him in awe. He really was gorgeous! As he worked his magic, she moved to a slightly sunnier spot and just laid down on her back. She kept watching him work his own magic though, amazed really. It wasn’t all that often that she saw someone use magic the way he was doing right now, so it was actually rather fun to watch him work. “How much bigger do you need it for it to work?” she called up to him, figuring it was best to ask while she was just letting the energy of the forest flow into her where she was laying. She imagined from Karmelo’s point of view right now, she was probably look to be disappearing into the surrounding nature, but she would still be able to get up from the forest floor without issue in a little bit.

Karmelo nods at Bianca on the topics of flowers. She says that she’ll find something not growing in the wild there. Karmelo suggests, “Why not some native flowers from where I am?” That’s probably something not growing around in the U.K. especially because of the weather differences. Bianca seems to grow everything anyway so this is going to be a small feat for her. Well, that’s what Karmelo thinks because she is kind of powerful creature of nature. Karmelo thinks about the flowers back home and remembers some of his favourites. He closes his eyes as he reminisces about the good old times. As he opens his eyes again, he tells her, “If you’re open for suggestions, sampaguitas, waling-walings, and gumamelas.” He likes those flowers if he’s being honest. But if Karmelo is being honest, usually, there are no flowers around Dakit trees. He doesn’t know why but maybe it has something to do with the darkness of their species and creatures living in the trees. But maybe here in the forest of Manson, having flowers magically grow around the tree can happen because… magic. Magic of a dryad in this case too which is proper wicked.
Bianca tells him that if he needs anything in the future, just look for an oak tree with apples growing on it. Karmelo puts a thumb up for her to affirm that that’s what he’ll do. He doesn’t know what else he can ask for especially since she already is growing his tree. That’s probably everything he needs in the forest and nature related. Karmelo is just glad that there is someone who he can go to for help if he needs it. Bianca also says that even if she’s not there when Karmelo goes and visits her tree home, she’ll know he comes by. That’s the same with most nature spirits and creatures since this is their territory and they can feel the forest as if it’s a part of them. Unless you are a corrupt nature spirit or creature, the connection with nature is strong for everyone. That’s what he knows from back home in the Philippines and Hawaii. Karmelo smiles at her and says, “Okay. I’ll just leave a message through our ways,” he says. Bianca knows what that means. Creatures like him and her can leave messages in anything inside the forest and it will be received when they find it. Not like Harry Potter style with the talking envelope but some sort of nature magic in a way.
He loves using his powers to float around because he feels like he can float forever. He pretends to lie down sideways on a bed, but really just on air, with one of his elbows prop up. His duplicates are done going around. The funny thing about his duplicate is that he can talk or command them telepathically since they are basically a part of him. They are corporeal and they look and feel so real and as if they are the original Karmelo. They also can conjure power through Karmelo which he can pass to them. He decides that he has stretched his power enough today like working out but with his powers so he makes the duplicates disappear. After this, Bianca asks him how big the tree shall be for Karmelo to make a portal and a home on it. “It should just be mature enough but not super old. I can make a portal and a home,” he explains, “Although the older the tree, the stronger the connection I will have with it.” Dalaketnons usually use very old Dakit trees for their homes because of the power it has that connects with them. Dakit trees can live for a long, long time and that is something that Dalaketnons can relate to.
Karmelo can work with a younger tree if making a really old Dakit tree takes too much from Bianca. As long as it’s a mature one, it’s okay. Maybe Karmelo can create a better connection with a tree that he can grow with through time since he doesn’t think that he will be leaving Manson anytime soon. Whether he stays here or not for a long time, Karmelo will make sure that this tree will be something that people will respect here and leave his mark for sure especially coming from a royal, evil nature spirit lineage. Suddenly, he thinks of all the curses he can put for disrespectful people crossing this tree. He probably needs to put a sign or a warning that tells people to respect the tree especially by excusing themselves passing this because the curses will be nasty. TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP

It didn’t really matter to her that flowers didn’t usually grow around his tree. This wasn’t a Dakit tree’s natural habitat after all, it was bound to be surrounded by things it wasn’t used to in these woods, so growing flowers from the same region seemed lie the best way to really make it more homey for Karmelo. She wanted him to feel at ease around here after all, feel like he had a home and pieces of home that he might be used to on his way to his tree. Even if in this case it would more likely end up growing around it. Hmm… She supposed she could make this whole clearing a little more southeast Asian than western European to make him feel right at home. “Next time I pass through here, I’ll grow some of those then,” she said, smiling at him. She always appreciated suggestions. This was going to be his part of the forest after all, seemed only right that he get to suggest what to grow. “In the meantime,” she said, growing a small hibiscus flower on the foliage covering her body and gently picked it off, handing it to him. Right now she was more focused on having to grow the actual tree, plants and such could be added later on when she was sure the tree would suit his needs. She nodded at his words. “Feel free to leave a message if you simply stumble across a piece of the forest that hasn’t been tended to yet as well,” she added. Since she was so new here, she hadn’t had a chance to get around to it all yet and wouldn’t take offense if a particular part of the forest was brought to her attention. In fact, she’d appreciate the help or tip or whatever you wanted to call it. It had been a long time since she’d been close enough to other nature spirits to leave messages in the forest, but she knew she had before so she’d know how to do it or find the message if he did. It amazed her that they had some things in common, like living in trees, yet his powers were so different from hers. It was amazing to watch him work honestly. Honestly, she could probably watch him make duplicates and float around all day, but she wasn’t here to relax and just hang out. She had a job to do and it required she focused on soaking up the forest rather than ask all her questions at once. A mature tree. Yes, she could definitely help it mature. Getting up from where she’d been pretty much just flopped on the forest floor, Bianca walked over to the tree and gently put a hand on it. “Come on, pretty little thing,” she said, closing her eyes. “You’re already halfway there, the hard part’s over. Be a sweetheart and work with me a little more?” She wasn’t actually expecting an answer, but she figured it couldn’t hurt to sweet talk the tree a little before she let her magic flow through her again. It was a lot easier this time around since the tree had already come into being and all. “Say when,” she told Karmelo. She’d placed both hands on the tree at this point, simply because it was easier to make it a balanced growth form here on out if she could feel the flow of nature through all her limbs. Mother nature might not like when you rearranged her furniture too much, but this wasn’t hurting anything, in fact, it was merely helping someone also connected to nature.

seasonofthewitch* when I look out my window, many sights to see. and when I look in my window, so many different people to be. they’re strange, so strange. it’s very strange to me. you’ve got to pick up every stitch. oh no, must be the season of the witch. Karmelo just smiles at Bianca when she gives him a flower from the bushes she’s wearing. Well, Karmelo thinks they are bushes but they may be not. He just knows they cover the important bits in Bianca’s body at the moment. Devon wonders why his kind never dresses like they are part of the nature like that. The Dalaketnons wear these ancient royal attires every time they are in their true form. It never gets old or ugly too and that’s probably because of magic.
Bianca mentions the leaving the message thing to Karmelo which he plans to do already when he is around. He just realizes that Bianca may be new too because she has not tended to the whole forest yet. He might be wrong though since the forest is quite big for a place like Manson but magic na dpower does exist here so anything is definitely possible. “So, are you new as a staff and as a groundskeeper here?” he asks. It’s a fair question to ask Bianca he thinks. It’s his first day so he is going to assume most of the people here are residents, students, and staffs for quite a while now. Bianca, on the other hand, does not give a vibe of being a new or an old staff so he just wants to know.
Karmelo sees Bianca concentrate again on growing the tree. It’s very wonderful to see someone use their powers especially when it’s different from his. Bianca is a dryad which means her power is connected to the base of nature. It can also be said that she is nature herself and that she’s one with it. Karmelo knows from his parents that the dryads, he doesn’t know if it only applies to the kind who lives in his country, are the original trees of life in this world. There are myths among the mythical creatures that are for sure since not everyone knows the real story of each and every one. One of the stories he knows about dryads is that Bathala, the God he grows up knowing, put the dryads in this world to create the environment. They start off as trees and then shapes up to be more than trees who can roam the world.
When Bianca tells him when to stop growing the tree, he watches the tree and touches it too like Bianca. Karmelo touches it to feel the connection with the tree and create the bond. When the bond forms, it means the tree is mature enough. His ears become pointed and then his eyes turn white as is his hair but he does not transform fully into his Dalaketnon form. He can feel the bond with the tree starting to happen slowly but surely. It is quite faster than usual though and that is probably because of Bianca’s power growing the tree. A minute passes by and he knows that the tree is mature enough to finish the bond with him. “I think this is good enough,” he tells Bianca. He feels in his body and mind that the bond is solid enough between him and the Dakit tree so he removes his hand and smiles. His features turn back to the normal human ones as soon as he releases his hold on the tree.
“Thank you,” Karmelo tells Bianca. He is really grateful for the tree. He looks at it and he kind of feels homesick already even if he’s only been gone for a few hours. TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP
