After Devon had left her by the lake, Ida had spent the remainder of the day finding a place that would work for her plans. Of course, they didn't exactly have karaoke night on the schedule, but a little trip to town that evening would change that. Make the human bar put on a karaoke night when she had asked the merman to meet her. That part of all of this had been easy enough. It had been finding just the right person to invite along that had her a little bit stumped. Part of her wanted to invite along someone she knew could sing, or would sing, but her mind kept circling back to Louis when she asked herself who would really enjoy a siren-show without stealing the show themselves. Well, that settled that. She texted him when she had managed to arrange for a karaoke night when they were heading there, letting him know he was welcome to tag along, in fact, it'd be much appreciated. Of course, Ida reminded Louis of the karaoke night when she was getting ready to head out, just in case he'd forgotten, letting him know they'd be waiting outside the dorms, before she made sure she was more than presentable to wait for her companions. Of course, she had yet to tell Devon what exactly they were going to be doing. Finding a window while she waited for the guys, Ida changed her hair a few times, trying out redhead and blonde before she settled black on brown. It just felt more natural without changing her eyes too and she just couldn't be bothered right now. Besides, she had worked out a nice, but subtle, tan, and it just suited her better. Ida had, naturally, booked a ride into town and was ready to leave once the guys showed up. DEVON MAHELONA KELI'I & LOUIS ISAIAH DAWSON Notes: outfit like the picture + heels.

IT TOOK US TO WHERE THE WATER WAS
THAT'S WHAT THE WATER GAVE ME.
Devon comes out of the shower with a towel wrap around his waist. He walks to his closet to see which clothes he is going to wear for the night. He hums while browsing through his clothes but with no siren voice lace around his voice. If he does, he may enchant someone nearby accidentally and that is going to be a mess. He picks a nice tank top with a low neckline to show off some of his chiseled chest and a brown leather jacket to complete the top look. Of course he has to show some skin somewhere if he is going to cover his biceps and arms. He grabs them and throws them down on his bed and then goes to find which bottoms he’s going to pair it with. Devon remembers this nice jeans he has that he has bought in South Korea and picks it out. It has a thick cut-out line on each side that is shades lighter than the blue of the denim jeans. South Korea knows how to make amazing street wear fashion and Devon is so into it. Devon wears his boxer briefs and then the items on he has thrown on his bed. After that, he goes to his mirror and fixes his hair. A little wavy just like he likes it is the style of his hair tonight. Sometimes he straightens his hair just to look more prim and proper but that is not the event tonight he’s sure of it. To finish his look, Devon grabs his pair of Puma sneakers and wears them. For the second time, he goes back to the mirror to check himself out. Damn, he thinks, I’d definitely fuck myself. He starts chuckling and then decides to spray some deodorant and perfume then heads outside to meet Ida. As he walks out of the building of the dormitories, he reminds himself that he has asked permission from someone to let him out of the campus for the night. Having a level 3 restriction is such a hassle if he is being honest. The person he asks permission lets him out on a promise to not do anything stupid and go back home and no sleepovers with the humans. Devon rolls his eyes at those rules. Of course, he’s going to do something stupid. No sleepovers with humans they say but they don’t say anything about still doing something without the sleepover part. Devon nods at these pretending he cares about whatever they are saying. Rules, schmules. When he reaches the outside of the building, Devon sees a silhouette of a woman. That is probably Ida waiting for him. Devon thinks for a second that he is late but Ida does not specify the time anyway. Just at night. So, he heads to where the silhouette is and confirms that it is definitely Ida. She looks smoking tonight that’s for sure. Looking like a woman with a mission, she is wearing a colourful printed kind-of wrap dress with a very deep V-neckline. Her stilettos are killer too. Devon lets out a long whistle to catch Ida’s attention. “I see someone is showing off the goods tonight, huh,” he says with a smirk on his face. He picks out his pack of fags in his pocket and gets a stick then lights it up. Devon does not think anyone will see him smoking here since it’s night time and they are leaving soon anyway so fuck the rules. “So, how are we going to get there?” he asks as he takes another puff of his cigarette. “Are we going to walk because I vote no. I don’t want to be sweaty when we get there.”

Louis is usually willing to go nearly anywhere if it means he gets some decent entertainment out of it, even more so if it'll be someplace loud with a whole bunch of people around. Karaoke was right up his street so he'd readily agreed when he'd been invited and had even remembered so the reminder that he'd had from Ida hadn't been needed. He'd actually been in the shower the second time he'd recieved a text message, the guy was washing his hair and generally just waking himself up a little. So, as he wandered down to where Ida had told him to meet her he was feeling pretty fresh.
He had good memories of the siren, some that he wouldn't mind replaying again if he got the chance but he was also more than happy to make some more memories, if that meant he had to wander out to the town then he was more than willing to do that.
There were two people waiting and despite not having superior hearing he overheard the guy speaking as he approached, so answering seemed like a proper enough way to alert them that he had arrived, "there's a crappy little taxi company that could pick us up from the gate.. Or," he shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly and stepped up to give Ida a kiss on the cheek and a brief hug. How could he not? She looked good enough to eat, which he may or may not have done a little of with that momentary brush of his lips against her cheek. It wasn't like she'd notice. "Either of you know how to hotwire a car?"
His gaze finally went to the guy with her, so this was the one coming along with them? The siren's new friend. Not bad, he thought as his gaze roamed over the guy before he met his gaze with a slightly cocky smile upon his lips, "Louis.. And you.. Really shouldn't worry too much about sweating, if you're friends with Ida then you probably look pretty good wet." He wasn't to know Dev's species, Ida made friends wherever she went, not just in the lake. DEVON MAHELONA KELI'I IDA EVALINA RADCLIFFE

Ida was pleased to see the merman again and smiled as he approached. She felt particularly clever right now, having only told Devon they were heading out and only told Louis he was invited to a Karaoke night with her and a friend. It was good being the only one with the whole puzzle, though all would be revealed soon enough. There was a reason why she had dressed up after all, she wanted all the attention on herself when she was singing and for that she figured she could use her natural attributes as well, not just rely on her voice. Though of course, she was planning on relying on that to get properly pampered after wards. And if a little fun ensued, well, that was just excellent. “If you got it, flaunt it,” she replied, chuckling slightly. “Looking good yourself.” She was pleased she had taken her advice to heart and dressed for the occasion, even without knowing what they were doing just yet. Once Louis arrived as well, she was happy to hug him back briefly and appreciated the kiss on the cheek. “Don’t you boys worry about that. I got us a free cab-ride to town,” she said, winking at Louis. He should know all too well just how she had managed to arrange for that. “It should be waiting for us just down the road,” she added. No need to worry about calling for a cab or hot-wiring a car when she’d already sorted everything out. It felt good to plan something for a change and fit everything nicely together. She couldn’t help but giggle at Louis’s comment about Devon. “He’s a merman,” she told him, grinning at the two of them. “Of course he looks good wet. Bet he’ll look even better on stage singing though. I figured you’d both appreciate enchanting a whole bar of humans for the evening.” Devon because he’d get to show off and do a little mischief, and Louis because she imagined it’d be plenty for him to feed on in such a scenario. Letting the boys introduce themselves properly, she nudged Devon gently. “Ready to cause a little innocent trouble?” Because if they were both ready to head out, she was more than ready herself at this point. Sure, she wouldn’t mind making some new memories with Louis, but tonight was all about the three of them having a good time in one way or another. If Louis and Devon happened to wander off on their own, she could always find a human to entertain her, she would just be happy for her friends.

IT TOOK US TO WHERE THE WATER WAS
THAT'S WHAT THE WATER GAVE ME.
Ida tells him that if he’s got it, he’s got to flaunt it and of course Devon agrees with that. He laughs as a way of agreement to the statement. He feels like this night will be a good one basing on the way Ida dresses. They both look chill but not like the lazy type. He backpacks around the world so he will know what the lazy chill type of dressing looks like. That’s for like going to a shabby but quaint bars here and there but he guesses that the place isn’t so much like that. Devon learns to appreciate all kinds of party scene so shockingly he is not a snob in that area. That’s a big improvement for a merman like him. Ida proceeds to compliment him too and Devon just gives her a dramatic bow. He’s extra like that. Devon startles a little when he hears a voice from behind him. He turns around as he sees a guy and he says that there is some crappy cab company around here that can pick them up. That’s better than walking to be honest so he gives a shrug as an affirmation that he’s cool with that. Then he tells them that there is another choice and proceeds to ask if someone knows how to hotwire a car. Devon gives him a smirk and say, “I don’t but I can probably get someone to do it for us.” It’s true. He can just find someone and they’ll fall for his natural merman allure or if he needs to, he can use a tiny bit of his siren voice. The man introduces himself as Louis and that Devon should not worry about sweating because if he’s friends with Ida that means he looks good wet too. Ah, this man is full of wits, huh? Devon likes that. He also figures out by what Louis is wearing that he is coming to join them to town. He doesn’t mind. The more the merrier as they say. He laugh quietly at Louis’ recent statement as Ida replies to him that Devon looks good wet, of course, and she bets that he also looks good on stage. “I look good. Period,” he states, confidence brimming as his iridescent skin shines even without light. Also, with the mention of Devon looking good on stage and enchantment, he asks, “Stage? Enchanting humans? So that means we will be doing some kind of performance at one point in the night?” A grin forms on his face knowing full well what this could mean. A siren and a merman being on stage just mean one thing: singing. Devon is so up for that and he just knows they are going to cause some trouble being what they are and what they can do while singing. He is just so ready for it to happen. Speaking of the glow of his iridescent skin, he tries to lower than its glow to make it a little unnoticeable. It doesn’t fully go away no matter how hard he tries but it becomes mute. You can see it if you stare real hard or from certain angles and where the light is but it’s never something suspicious. Unless you’re another supernatural creature or in the know. Devon realizes that he forgets to introduce himself so he quickly tries to fix that. “I’m Devon by the way,” he says giving him a cheeky peck on both side of his cheeks as a greeting. He’s saucy that way. Also, the French do it so why can’t he? “And I met Ida a few days ago and we got on,” he adds. “So now, we’re here!” Devon tries to assess if the man is human or not. Well obviously he isn’t just from looking at him. He’s more supernaturally looking than him and Ida right now. That means he doesn’t have a ‘true form’ or like a full shape shift. Not a shifter then? Louis does look really pale. Wait. He mentally scratches his head and thinks that there is one very popular creature that is pale. Is he a vampire? Maybe he is. Oh and if he is, is Louis the vampire Ida is telling him about a few days ago? The one with the great moves? Devon just has to ask later on or maybe Ida will tell him. He’s not sure and maybe Devon is just assuming things so he doesn’t want to say anything just in case he’s wrong. That will be embarrassing if he is wrong. Ida asks if we’re ready to cause an innocent trouble and Devon just gives her a cheeky smile. “Trouble?” he asks, “I don’t know what you mean, missy.” He cannot hold back his giggle so he lets it out as he prepares himself mentally for the night. “But yes, I’m so ready to get out of this sad looking school and have fun outside.”

He looked pleasantly surprised at being told they had a free cab ride awaitng them, that solved the immediate issue and he was quite certain that if they had issues getting home then they could just crash someplace. There were plenty of people around in the town, especially in the evenings, there was sure to be one who had a living room (or a bed) big enough to house some of them. Hell, if it came to it he'd just break off from the group and crawl into Bram's bed, if the hybrid would allow him too. He couldn't see why not. There were always options. Louis would be more than happy to go along with anything as long as their was a decent enough atmosphere to absorb, Ida knew that, it was most likely why he was here.
Devon glowed.. Louis cocked a brow and looked bemused. His own skin would gain that inner glow, but only if the vampire side of him was hungry or he was furious. It was why he was amused, but not enough that he made his own skin glow.. His eyes would also turn silver and he'd get peckish. He didn't think Ida would mind too much if he stole a deep kiss from her, but this new fella might. He doesn't want to cause tension. So instead he lifted his hand to brush the back of his fingers against Devon's jawline lightly, "definitely tasty," which could be an innuendo but he meant it literally too. Louis likes the emotional radiance of the confident, it always boosts his own. Which isn't something he necessarily needs but he appreciates it none the less, "I've never had a merman before."
Louis had already decided he wouldn't be singing unless he'd had more than a few to drink, which seemed easily plausible considering his company. They were out for a good time, he'd pretty much adapt to that as the night stretches on. He was now aware that he'd be in a room full of people succumbing to the voices of both a Siren and a Merman and he was bloody excited about that. He doesn't even care if he ends up succumbing to it all himself, having Ida or Devon beneath him would make for a fantastic end to an evening. Perhaps even get to go for a swim with the two of them. That'd be an experience and a half. Like swimming with dolphins. But better. You can't molest dolphins. Not with a good conscious afterwards anyway.
The double cheeked kiss made him chuckle and he glanced back at Ida with a bright smile, "if all of your friends are like this one feel free to introduce me to them all." He'd got out of the habit of greeting people with kisses on the cheek a couple of years ago but to come across it again made his spirits lighten surprisingly. He held out his arm for Ida, "if we're heading off then lead the way whilst the night's still young."
He was looking forward to what was yet to come.

While she hadn’t really met any other merpeople or sirens since she had first left the ocean (at least that she was aware of), Ida genuinely appreciated Devon’s company. He was so similar to her in so many ways, even similar in some ways personality-wise, it was part of the reason why she figured he’d get along great with Louis. She loved having someone around to banter with and someone to help enchant a whole bar would be just perfect. She had even made sure to have a tiny little nibble of human flesh earlier in the day so her voice wouldn’t be powerless. It wouldn’t do to go out for karaoke night and merely have a voice that was beautiful but not enchanting. Not when half the fun of doing this in town would be the humans that could fall under their thrall. It hardly seemed fair for her to invite the boys along for a night out and not figure out a way to get them a ride into town. She had paid the cab driver handsomely in song and a favor with his wife, so she was quite pleased about the trade off for a free ride into town at the very least. How they were getting home again was a problem for later. Besides, who said they strictly needed to be back again until morning anyway? It wasn’t like they were likely to eat someone. After she’d met Devon, something about him had just told her that he would be right up Louis’s alley. Not just because they could stir up a little trouble tonight, but because he was full of life and that seemed to be just what Louis enjoyed. And she had a feeling the merman would like the vampire simply because who didn’t like Louis? “Karaoke,” she replied to the merman with a mischievous smile. Yes, she definitely had a performance planned for tonight. And if that lead to a different kind of performance later on with someone in town, well, all the better. “Don’t say I never did anything for you,” she teased Louis when he said the merman was tasty like that. “Outside of fun I mean,” she added, chuckling to herself. She would be more than happy to make more friends like the merman and introduce them to the vampire. She liked spending time with both guys, why not enjoy both their company at the same time and have a fun night in town? Ida didn’t mind Louis and Devon greeting however they wished, so she merely smiled at the way the merman kissed Louis’s cheeks like that. “Can’t promise they’re all as hands on as Devon, but figured you’d appreciate each other,” she told Louis, running a hand through her hair before she looped one arm around Louis’s and the other around Devon, feeling pretty good in the middle of the two of them. “This way gentlemen,” she said, starting to walk towards where the cab was waiting for them. “I’ve only planned as far as what we’re doing. Whatever happens when we get there, I have no doubt it’ll be a fun night.” How could it not be a fun night no matter what happened tonight?

Karaoke. That is the only thing Devon needs to hear if he’s being honest. He claps his hand one time and says, “Yes!” As a merman, singing is one of the things he is naturally good at. They are born with amazing voices which helps them with their powers especially when using the siren voice. He knows Ida and he will have a great time. “Karaoke plus drinks seems like the best night out ever?” he asks but it’s actually a statement. Devon wonders if Louis will be singing along with them although he may be affected by his and Ida’s siren voices. They will just have to wait and see. Either way, he knows he will be having a great time and that is what matters to him the most as usual. Devon starts to think of songs he wants to sing and he has a top three in his mind right now. He’s just trying to see which one will show off his skills the most. Merfolk problems, can they blame him? Louis then brushes the back of his fingers along Devon’s jawline and tells him that he’s tasty. Compliments are what powers him so he accepts it gracefully and tells Louis, “I know, babe but thank you. I live for compliments.” Then the other man proceeds to tell him that he has never had a merman before. Devon suddenly feels awkward because he is guessing that Louis is Ida’s vampire bed friend who gives him great moves even though he isn’t sure that this vampire is. So whether he is that vampire or not, Devon tries to brush it off and says, “I heard they’re uncommon around here.” They probably are. He knows that mermaids are more adventurous in coming out the surface than mermen because most of the mermen are into their rule of staying hidden and protecting the merfolk secret. Devon thinks this is stupid because obviously they aren’t the only supernatural creatures who can venture into the human world yet no supernaturals have been exposed. Also, merfolks are creatures who can totally blend with humans so it’s not that hard to hide except when saltwater gets in contact with their skin. Mermen are just so strict like that but Devon is a rule breaker. He always has been. Devon still likes to be a little bad though so he tells Louis, “That’s what makes us… tasty.” A really light harmless flirting is probably okay. He usually does not mind stepping on feet when flirting but Ida is a friend so he is trying to be respectful. Ida’s comment to Louis after confirms that this one is the vampire who she is talking about the first day at the lake. She looks comfortable with Louis harmlessly flirting with Devon so he thinks there is no issue then with this. When Louis tells Ida that if her friends are all like Devon, she needs to introduce them all to him and that makes Devon chuckle. This man is a smooth one and he likes that. Ida says that she figures that Louis and him will probably get along and he thinks that that statement is true. “Sorry babe, I’m one of a kind,” he teases as he gives a wink along Louis’ way and then looks at Ida and laughs at himself. Ida leads the way as she loops her arms around Devon and Louis’ arms. Devon happily lets her pull him along the way as he doesn’t really mind because he has no idea where the cab is. Apparently Ida does not plan the whole night and that is fine with Devon really. “I’m up for anything tonight so I don’t mind,” he says, looking forward to karaoke the most. “I’m just excited to get free drinks from people and… just free everything,” he states. Devon just gets free things because of his looks and his powers. He sees the cab and opens the door for the two as he tells them, “I’m going to go take the shotgun.” |

Louis was of course ridiculously pleased that he was being taken along for the night with a merman and a siren. There were literally endless possibilities all of which he was sure that he'd end up loving. The psyvamp smiled at the cocky little response to his compliment, a smile that only widened a little when the guy's awkwardness hit those empathic senses like a brush of sandpaper down his spine. Tingly. Louis had absolutely no idea why he was feeling that way but in his experience if you question things like that then the prouder members of the supernatural community tend to get a little offended. The last thing he wanted to do was piss off somebody who's baseline confidence made him want to lick and kiss his way over their body. That went for both Ida and Devon. He was in fantastic company.
"It was more than fun," he pointed out with a grin when Ida spoke, "can't say I've ever met anybody who can hold their breath as long as a siren.." His gaze went to Devon and he smirked a smaller smile as he mused, "maybe the merman could break that record sometime though." Did the other man even swing his way? He had no idea, but that wouldn't stop him from being flirtatiously forward. It had never stopped him before. Then Devon pointed out that it was his rarity that made him tasty, Louis knew he'd got the wrong end of the stick, he'd meant 'tasty' in quite the literal sense of the word and that most definitely wasn't reliant upon species or even appearance but more what they had on offer with their personality alone. Devon and Ida had strong enough energies for him to happily roll over them like a content cat if he got the chance. He was going to be a well fed, happy psychic vamp.
Not really something he could do without the excuse of plenty of alcohol though.
Louis chuckled quietly and placed the arm not looped through Ida's to his chest in a 'bestill my heart' hesture and spoke to Ida, "he called me 'babe', we'll get along just fine," he grinned and patted at her heart with the hand he'd held over his chest, "I appreciate anybody who's confident enough to spout things like that." He was well aware that Devon could hear him, he wasn't even trying to be quiet and anyway, it was rude to talk behind somebody's back. It wasn't as if he were making any insults. He leant forward just enough to make eye contact with the merman, a devilish smile upon his lips, "tonight you get to prove that 'one of a kind' claim," he winked, "no pressure."
He was quite tempted to suggest that they all sit in the back. Either Ida could sit in the middle or preferably he would. Louis can be quite selfish when it comes to most things, people included. Oh, he's not a jealous person in the slightlest, but if he gets the chance to be the one with the upper hand then he'll take it. However, he stayed quiet and let Devon claim the front seat without comment and slid into the back to scoot along and let Ida enter too. He wasn't quite gentleman enough to help her in and walk around to the other door. She's a siren, not a geriatric. As always he forgot to strap in his seatbelt but he heals quickly, he can take risks here and there, "so, any idea to what you'll sing?" He asked a few minute after they'd got going, "I'm feeling a power ballad. Journey. Aerosmith. Guns 'n' Roses maybe.."

Ida couldn’t help but nod at his statement in agreement. Karaoke would definitely be worth it. She could probably afford to drink a little for a change as she’d barely been out of the lake long enough to get changed and dressed up before they were heading out. One or two drinks at least was probably safe. If she wound up drinking more, she’d probably still be fine, but it seemed like she should make some sort of arrangement to get brought back to Manson just to be safe in that case. If Louis had been more than someone she could just casually hook up with when they were both in the mood, she would’ve been a little jealousy about the way he was touching the merman and saying he was tasty. As it was, she was glad the psyvamp seemed to enjoy the merman’s company because it made her feel even better about inviting him along. She had figured Louis would enjoy the atmosphere they created though. While Ida wasn’t opposed to having more fun with Louis in the future, she was hoping they could all have fun tonight in one way or another. “Well, let me know how that goes,” she said, nudging Louis gently. “I genuinely want to know the answer to that myself,” she said, chuckling slightly. She didn’t think it was species related at all. It was probably just related to a lot of other factors like overall fitness. Part of what she loved about Louis was how he didn’t mind sharing her with whoever she decided to play with, because she certainly didn’t mind sharing him with others. The last thing she was after right now was someone who were only willing to have fun with her if they were exclusive. So why not encourage Dev and Louis? Ida leaned in and kissed Louis’s cheek when he said they’d get along just fine. “I’m glad,” she said, meaning it too. Normally, it wasn’t important for her that all her friends got along with each other, but tonight it kind of was important that Louis and Devon got along because she wanted an amazing night. It wouldn’t be amazing if they’d wound up hating each other, but thankfully they both seemed like they were easy to please and that made her incredibly happy. Once they reached the cab, Ida was happy to scoot in next to Louis. After they were all settled, she told they driver where to take them. “Hey,” she said, after being asked about what to sing, “I haven’t thought about that yet, but I want to enjoy a few drinks tonight. Can one of you dump me in a shower or something if I start getting all flaky and dry?” That seemed like a good thing to make sure of beforehand, even if she had a feeling she could enjoy a drink or two. “I want a regular night out for a change, on top of the enchanting I mean.” Squeezing Louis’s hand, she smiled at the vampire. “A power ballad would definitely suit you,” she agreed. It seemed only polite to comment on his song choices too, not just worry about herself. “I think Devon, being such a dramatic character, should probably look for a musical,” she teased.

It’s cute how Louis is matching the level of sauciness of Devon and Ida. He likes that about him because that means he’s not a fickle jerk that Devon will be annoyed at. He also likes the innuendo-filled banter they are having because it is an ice breaker for the night since meeting for the first time without both of them probably not knowing is awkward and weird. Although, everything about Manson is weird anyway so this is probably something normal. Devon just laughs at Louis and says, “You’ll just have to wait and see, babe.” Ida says that she also has interest in knowing about it which makes Devon laugh even more. These two are really great company and Devon feels lucky Louis makes a dramatic response when Devon calls him babe. He says he likes someone who spouts things like that. Louis then may like English people since Devon thinks that’s where he gets the use of babe in his sentences. In his travels, there are a lot of English people backpacking and Devon loves hanging around with them so that’s where he gets the use of babe. He becomes close to an Essex couple at one point so maybe they’re the ones who influence him. Devon just shakes his head happily not believing how much he is enjoying the night already and they’re not in town yet. When Louis says Devon can prove the one of a kind thing tonight, Devon just tuts at him. “Behave,” he says with a hint of sass. Tonight, Devon just wants to have a friendly night. Some making out is okay but no making the other person a third wheel. Whoever may end up being the third wheel because Louis just seems to be a greedy man which is a great thing but tonight is all about having new friends. Well, as much as possible because Devon is just a go with the flow kind of person but he needs to try once in a while, right? Inside the cab, Louis and Ida brings up what songs they want to sing and stuff and it makes Devon thinks of what he wants to sing. He loves music. They don’t have different kinds of genre of singing and humming back underwater so when he discovers about the music of the humans, he just falls in love with it. The variety, the difference, the poetry, and such are just something that attracts Devon as a creature who sings as part of their being. Devon loves a lot of genre and he’s quite flexible and gives chances to most genres to appreciate the creativity and poetry they put into. Like for example, he’s not into the metal genre but he can see the creativity with their vocals and the way they shred their guitars and bang the drums harder than the general rock genre. People are also not into rap music but Devon loves it. It’s just the way they deliver their points with their wordplays and the wittiness and power they put into it whether it’s about something important to the human world or just bragging about their money. Every genre of music has something that can be appreciated and Devon likes that. Ida tells them that someone should keep her dehydrated because as a siren, she can't stay on land for too long. Devon understands how she feels even if it's a different case for him. He can stay on land for as long as he wants. Evolution, he guesses. Ida is part of the first few centuries of the original merfolk so that's maybe why. Devon is basically a fetus comparing to Ida. "I get drunk but not as fast as humans but even if I am drunk, just tap me and tell me and I'll accompany you somewhere to... wet yourself? I can't think of the right term right now," he says with a laugh. Devon is just really happy that they get to go outside of Manson at the moment. When Ida suggests he needs to sing something broadway related, Devon raises his eyebrows at them with a smirk as he turns his head to look at them. “I love musicals so I might just go for that,” he informs them. Devon really loves them. He has been to New York and he gets to watch a lot of musical in his stay there. Hamilton, Kinky Boots, Waitress, and more. They are just really amazing. The performances take so much effort and the actors sing, dance, and act which is no easy feat to do live. They are so underappreciated in the music industry. They can literally sing any kind of genre because musicals are just not in one genre. So sure, Devon is down to perform a piece from one of his recent favourite musicals. |

If Louis had sensed any sort of jealousy from Ida then he'd have rectified that immediately but he's quite sure that he and Ida's friendship is cemented enough that both of them know where they stand. Louis likes the siren enough that he wouldn't want her feeling anything negative, especially around him when he knows that she knows he can feel it. That's like a double smack in the face. No, Louis would keep her happy as he possibly could, even that meant potentially alienating Devon.. Though, he's quite sure he has the ability to make them both feel special enough if it comes to it. Is it arrogance if it's true? He's pretty sure it's true so he wouldn't say he's arrogant. More confident. Confidence is a good quality.
Meeting any new person was potential food for him, a potential to meet even more from there. Different personality types in different places, friendly individuals, even cruel individuals, they all give him something to make him thrive and his inner vampire requires the mix of positive and negative to survive. Otherise he becomes either a happy-go-lucky pain in the ass or a miserable son of a bitch. Balance is important. Manson provides that perfectly, it's why he enrolled himself and why he continues to be a lazy lay about just spending his days absorbing what he can and pretending to 'improve' himself. He doesn't really think he has much to improve upon.
Louis gets comfortable in the back of the cab, though he's not quite sure where they're supposed to find a shower out in the middle of town. If Ida starts to dry up the best thing to do would be to just order a glass of water and tip it over her head wouldn't it? He'd be more likely to do that than find some dirty old shower. He snorts an unseemly laugh at Devon's suggested to wet her, "best bet is the stream in the gardens, there's one that runs through the park grounds.. I found it accidentally one evening, morning.. Night, sometime." Aka he fell into the thing while trying to escape from a particularly clingy person who's emotions had begun to freak him the hell out. There's a certain level of possessiveness that will send even him running for the hills. Or the bushes and eventual soggy stream in that particular circumstance. At least he got away.
Louis just sits back with a smile for the rest of the journey and looks out the partially open window. He's more likely to not sing at all, he probably won't even want too after he's heard the other two going at it and creating an atmosphere that he's sure he'll just wade through eagerly. Humans are so oblivious and he doubts his light touches will even be noticed if somebody in particular catches his eye. No souls required when the air'll be heavy enough with lord only knows what these two'll stir up..
ooc:: Let Ida do the whole arriving wherever they're going thing, seeing as she organised it XD

While Ida respected Louis for who he was too much to ever intentionally use her gifts on him, she was kind of amused by the thought that he might get caught in the crosshairs tonight. It wasn’t like she had any intentions of making anyone do anything bad or anything like that. She just wanted to be admired, doted on and given lots of attention. And despite barely having known Devon a few days, she figured that was kind of what he was after too. He seemed to thrive on compliments and attention as much as she did. Sure, getting people to do little things like forget about ever seeing her was also harmless in her books, but what she meant was, she didn’t think Dev would use his voice to make someone hurt someone else or anything society in general considered really bad. This was the kind of banter Ida preferred. She liked how innuendos were more the norm than the exception, that they could just be comfortable enough with each other for this to be perfectly normal. It served a purpose and it made people feel good. Sure, she liked long winded conversations about other things too, but this was definitely her favorite kind. “We all need a Louis in our lives,” she said, chuckling slightly. She genuinely believed everyone would benefit from knowing Louis thought so she wasn’t just blowing smoke up his ass. He just seemed like he could lift anyone’s spirits or put them at ease. Sometimes, Ida hated that she hadn’t evolved with the times. The fact that she had to be careful about drinking too much alcohol and coffee or tea was one of those times. Hopefully, drinking tonight wouldn’t be an issue since she had been in the lake earlier that day, but it seemed safer to inform her company that she might need to be soaked. Thankfully they both seemed to have ideas about that or be willing to help out, so she didn’t have to worry too much about potentially drying up today and that was always a nice thing. Musicals seemed like a good option for Devon, if Louis was going for power ballads she guessed she would have to find some sort of pop song to sing. Unless Dev and her decided to team up on something, but she couldn’t really say that for sure before they even got started. Once they reached their destination, Ida was more than happy to get out of the cab and lead the way into the bar. It wasn’t overly crowded yet, but she was hoping once they got started, more people would come in from wherever they were going outside. “Talk amongst yourselves,” she told the boys, as she headed toward the bar to ask for the owner. He had said he’d be here after all and so it hardly seemed like an unfair request to ask for him. It didn’t take long and when she learned they’d be ready to start in about ten minutes, she was more than happy to just order a drink and head over to the boys again. “Ten minutes,” she told them. “Hopefully people are just late.” There were about fifteen other people in there and she had been hoping for a bigger crowd, but the night was still young. Not that they couldn't have fun with the people already there and make it a nice night.

Devon continues to listen at the conversation at the back seat but he is more curious about what’s outside and around Manson. He watches the scenery along the road even if they are just trees and bushes sometimes. This feels so exciting because even if he’s in Manson for only four days give or take, Devon feels like his mood is dampen with all the dreariness that comes with that place. So, looking at the view outside of Manson is something refreshing to him even if he can barely see everything with the dark and only having some street lights and the headlights of the car illuminating the outside. He hears Louis saying that he knows a stream in the garden at the town and that is their best bet to throw Ida to when she needs rehydration. Devon makes a sound of affirmation but not adding anything. He does hear that Louis finds the place one time because he stumbles into it with his drunken stupor. He laughs at this because it is really funny. Drunken people are fun and funny. Ida says that they all need a Louis in their lives and Devon is kind of agreeing to that now. The guy seems like someone he can really get along with and have fun times with. They finally reach their destination and Devon is just bouncing from his excitement. He opens the door of the cab and thanks the driver without looking. Ida leads the way and Devon just happily follows looking around outside of the town just to see what’s in store for future outings here. When they go in, he notices that there are not much people yet inside. It’s still kind of early but he thinks that in a town like this, people will prefer to drink early and leave early too because that’s what he experiences in his travels to provincial towns. The area does not really look provincial so he doesn’t know if it is one. Ida hopes people are just late but Devon is not perturbed by it. “I’m just gonna get a drink,” he tells the other two and he goes to the island bar and orders a mojito. He then decides to scope the area and sees the karaoke machine and the stage. He thinks, if people are not here yet, why not bring them in? A smirk forms in Devon’s face as his plan starts to solidify. He takes more sips from his drink and heads straight to the karaoke machine and then finds a song from the song list. He doesn’t really need a specific song for this plan to work but he loves attention and having a song to fit this is just perfection. Devon finally sees the right song and inputs it to the machine. He grabs the mic and winks at the other two. “Mic test, mic test,” he says as he elegantly taps the head of the mic. It obviously works but he likes how people usually do that before speaking. “Tonight is my first night in this town,” he says, “and I just can’t wait for people to come and have fun! So, I’ll be bringing them in.” Devon probably knows the Ida and Louis know what he plans to do. They both know he’s a merman and the fact that enchanting people with his siren voice is something he can do easily, it’s just totally obvious. As the first few keys on the piano plays, Devon’s hums a little and his siren voice is totally turned on tonight. It’s not like he is trying to pull the people to go drown in the sea so this is not really against anything. He just wants to get them to have fun tonight. Devon starts singing, “Cough Syrup” by Young The Giant. His voice has this natural reverb happening because of his siren voice that just flows through the room and outside. It’s as if his voice and the volume of the mic amplify because of him using his powers. After the first minute, he sees the door opens and one by one, the people come in to watch him sing. Some of them grab their drinks and Devon is just something the time of his life. This is what he does best and showing off like this to the other two is just perfect. The ultimate attention whore that he is. The song finishes and his magic will wear off in a few minutes but it’s not like people are going to leave as soon as that happens because the feeling of happiness will linger for a while. How do you think sailors drown happily back in the day even after the sirens have stopped singing to them? |

It wasn't particularly busy inside and Ida left them pretty soonish to do whatever the hell it was that she had planned to do, and as he turned to speak to Devon he discovered the merman was missing too. Louis's lips pursed into a thin line but he ran a hand through his hair and sighed in resignation before wandering off to the bar himself to grab a drink. There weren't many humans around but he felt enough to know which of those would welcome a stranger's conversation. Loneliness is a bitter little pill but useful to one like him, it identifies the easier of 'prey' for him to go and sidle up too. First though he needed a drink. So the psy-vamp wandered over to the bar and slid onto a stool, at the same time that Devon's voice came over the speakers and he glanced back after placing an order for a beer to watch the other guy. Louis isn't the most observent, he hadn't heard him explain he was going to get a drink, he didn't know where Ida was .. But at least he'd spotted one of the two he'd come with.
Hard to ignore him actually, so much so that he couldn't quite tear his eyes away from him as he began to hum and then eventually broke into song. Even the bartender was entranced enough to forget to charge Louis for the pint he'd been given and the psyvamp wasn't going to be complaining about that.. In fact, before the guy snapped to his senses he slipped away from the bar with his free beer and found himself stepping a little closer to the stage where he gave the merman a lazy little salute if Dev spotted him among the new crowd slowly trickling through the door.
Before Louis was aware of it he was surrounded by people, their energy making the thing stream of siphoning energy to his ever hungry vampiric soul become more of a river of feeling. It bolstered his own internal strength to something a little more hardened against the melody of Dev's voice but still he swayed with the song. Those around him were almost enamored by the merman's voice and this empath picked up on that strongly and absorbed that. If this was what humans heard when Ida sang then no wonder they went to their deaths eagerly. Hell, Louis isn't particularly violent but he would quite willingly punch anybody in the throat if they tried to touch the other guy right now.
More than anything he felt chilled though. Relaxed. Eager for the night to roll on. Where was Ida..?
