Normally, she probably would’ve taken Devon into town for a daytime thing for his first trip to town. However, since he was a merman, it just seemed like it’d be more his pace to go for a karaoke night. She wanted him to enjoy this place after all, so why not show him the magnitude of humans in town? It wasn’t like he was going to eat them. And Louis really was only invited along for two reasons. One being that she enjoyed his company, and secondly because she thought he’d enjoy the atmosphere. Seemed like he and Dev got along too, that was definitely a bonus. While Devon was singing, Ida was just watching the room really, while also enjoying the musicality of it all. Seeing how easy it was for him to draw people in from the outside made her think it might be time to find a proper witch and have her own powers restored to her former glory. It would be nice to be able to use her powers freely when it suited her and not just to calm people or on humans. Not that she wanted to use her powers to make people in Manson fawn over her, because they seemed to do that without adding her powers in, but it’d be nice to be able to use her natural gifts to repel people too when she really didn’t want someone to get closer. She took the opportunity to change her appearance after all. She wanted to be able to mingle later, so she would change back after she was done singing. While everyone was watching Devon anyway, nobody noticed her hair changing to blonde, or her eyes turning green before she located Louis among the humans and walked up behind him. Wrapping an arm loosely around his waist, she leaned into him. “Having fun?” she asked him, even if he seemed right in his element. “My turn,” she said, giving his cheek a kiss before she walked over to Devon. “Tough act to follow,” she said, grinning at the merman. He’d been excellent as expected though so she wasn’t overly surprised. He’d brought people in and she had a feeling the bar would actually thank them later for all the business they were sure to get from this, now it was her turn to put them in the right kind of mood. She wanted fawning, but she also wanted people to genuinely have a good time. Walking up in stage, she placed a kiss on Dev’s cheek in passing too. She had the perfect song, having found something fun in the catalogue. 'How to be a heartbreaker' just seemed seemed to fit the mood she was in and wanted to help put the humans in too. She would invite Dev and Louis for a duet or group song after she was done. What was the point in going here if they didn't all participate together as well? Of course, if Louis wanted to sing on his own, she'd be more than happy to step down and let him.

Devon sees Ida coming towards him and the stage so he gives her a smile. She is a siren and Devon knows she will also give one hell of a performance. She returns her kiss on the cheek and bows down to her exaggeratedly as he goes down and walks towards Louis. Devon gives him a bright smile and steals the drink on his hand to take a sip. After the refreshing sip he has, he sighs and looks at Louis. “Well, now we have a party going on,” he says with a cheeky smile. Looking around, he sees that people are somehow enjoying the event genuinely because he can tell the difference between the effects of his siren voice and the normal emotions. Sometimes, if people agree with the emotion put onto them, their real emotions bleed out. Devon is really proud of his work. He turns back to Louis and touches his shoulder with his hand and says, “I’m just going to grab another drink, babe. You better be ready to dance when I get back!” Devon gives the vampire a peck on both cheeks as he skedaddles off to the bar. He catches the attention of a bartender and asks for some vodka and soda water. As Devon waits for his order, he hears the start of Ida’s song. Huh, she’s singing a song he knows full well. Marina and The Diamonds is one of the great discoveries of Devon in the human world of music. She just sounds so different and exquisite. Electra Heart is also his favourite album from Marina so this choice is something he’s going to enjoy. He does prefer Primadonna Girl, Power and Control, and Lonely Hearts Club over this song for upbeat choices but still, How to be a Heartbreaker is a jam. The rules are so true and Devon likes to use the rules Marina gives at times. The crowd is also enjoying the performance and he’s really happy that the night is starting off really well. Devon finally gets his drink so he goes off to Louis again. He takes a big swig from his drink and then grabs Louis’ hands and tells him, “Come on big boy. Show me your moves.” He gently pulls Louis to the dance floor just at the edge of it and near to the area they have been drinking at. Devon likes dancing because it just feels like you’re free to do whatever you want. His elegance in dancing is basically innate so he has no worries how he looks like. Devon turns around from Louis as his back touches Louis chest or wherever it hits because the man is quite taller than he is. Devon is not trying to fuck Louis… yet but this is the way he dances with people anyway. He starts moving his body to the beat of the chorus part of the song and he knows he doesn’t even need to use his powers to get some attention from the few men around him seeing him dancing to Louis. Devon is just glad he gets to be out of Manson and party the fuck up. Maybe he’ll keep requesting to go to town even if he’s alone just to forget he even is part of Manson freaking Academy. |

An arm slipped around his waist and before he even turned his head he knew who it belonged too. Louis smiled, eyes heavily lidded already thanks to the overwhelming mixture of sensation that seeped through his very skin, if he wasn't careful he'd end up leaking the overspilling energy into a glow like way much like the merman himself could do. It was something he could control to appear completely human but then again in situations like these he's usually within Carpe, a bar that doesn't really require anybody to restrain themselves unless their particular hunger is to eat something living. That kind of behaviour isn't allowed for obvious reasons, but glowing? Never been a problem. He chuckled and ran his hand over the arm over his waist, "mhm," it was an agreement to her question, he was having a good time. As far as he was aware anyway, Devon's voice was enjoyable, the press of people around him was more than enjoyable, he was definitely in his element. Relaxed yet energised, his favourite way of being, "you'll kill it," he added when she mentioned it was her turn, he had no doubt that she'd knock the humans in the room into whatever state she so wished them to be in. It was going to be something.
Louis is rather easily distracted and was easing his way over to a small group of people with particularly bright energy when somebody stole the drink from his hand. The psyvamp blinked and glanced his way, not with any particular negativity, just curious as to where the alcohol was going more than annoyed at it being taken. He doesn't require alcohol to have a good night when he knows that he'll pick up on the growing euphoria that will bloom throughout the night. He grinned when he both heard and laid eyes on Devon, "you did bloody brilliant," he agreed, sounding pretty happy even as he took his drink back, and then he was kissing his cheeks and popping off again to get a drink. Louis felt, more than saw, the jealousy from some of those around them and he just laughed to himself and took a swig of his beer. Then Ida hit the stage and the attention of the room went to the now blonde woman rather than anything else.
Honestly, Louis doesn't care what songs are sang, he doesn't really listen to music for the love of music, more because he can't stand silence. Silence is so much louder to him than any music could ever be so as Ida struck up her song he barely knew the words. He vaguely recognised the tune but he was a lot more interested in sinking into the noise and the atmosphere that her voice caused in the place. That he appreciated a lot more than what the song was.
He allowed Devon to pull him onto the dance floor despite knowing that he's not much of a dancer, oh he's graceful enough. In some ways his species is very similar to an actual vampire, with the natural allure, agility and, well, he thinks he's pretty good looking, grace just comes along with the package. Except he has a heartbeat, warm blood running through his veins, he has access to the sunlight, it can hurt his eyes a little but he can withstand it quite easily, even tan. So he wasn't particularly worried about being on the dancefloor, however, he's usually in a big group. Now though, there was only Devon and those few inching closer in an attempt to get closer to the man behind him. Though most people were admittedly hypnotised by the woman on stage.
She couldn't affect people like him though, the supernatural species, so he wasn't as enamored but the sound of her voice was still something else. Louis just moved with the music, not really realising that others had joined them at all, he was a little beyond that, instead he was just enamored with the atmosphere of the area and glad as hell that he'd decided to accept Ida's offer to come on out.

This was just the kind of night out that she needed. Hanging out with Louis was always nice, hanging out with Devon and creating a great atmosphere in the bar was awesome too. It had been forever since she’d spent time with another of her people. Well, close enough anyway in Devon’a case. It was nice to feel right at home with people without anyone expecting anything from each other. She was glad Louis was having a good time too, she imagined he’d feel quite sated after tonight.
Usually, whenever Ida sang these days she tried not to use her siren voice while doing it. She wanted people to like her for who she was. Tonight, however, she wanted to make the humans in this place just a little more flirtatious than they might otherwise be and for everyone to enjoy themselves. It was important that they enjoyed her singing. She spotted Louis and Devon as she was moving onto a chorus and seeing the merman dance made her smile even more as she was enjoying herself too.
It was almost a relief to know her companions for the night wouldn’t be affected by her voice, but it was nice to see she hadn’t lost her touch on humans at least. When her song reached its conclusion, Ida tried to wave Devon over again. kind of hoping he’d sing with her.
