Bjørn knew Cairo had plans to adopt but he hadn’t quite realised how serious or how far along in the process things had gotten, then when he found out just who the man had been planing to take in, admittedly the bear had his reservations. Of course he would support his boyfriend, this seemed like something the teacher had been planning to do someway or another long before he arrived on the scene. It was just that adopting a child was one thing, adopting a shifter child with clear deep seated issues was another matter completely. While Bjørn was not happy it had fallen through he was somewhat relived things had ended before anything became official, he really hate to see what would happen to Cairo if things fell apart after the kid was brought home.
Taking advantage of the good weather he had invited Cairo out to the local town park, there seemed to be a bit of a Pride fete type thing going on over the weekend in one part of it and the bear thought it might be fun to attend and take his boyfriend’s mind off of work related things. It was only after he turned up that he sudden wondered if an event designed for families was really the most sensible thing to attend… But he said nothing and just hoped Cairo enjoyed it for what he intended it to be, a chance to goof off and stuff face with cotton candy.
Or just bath in the sun, dip in the outdoor pool that was usual open this time of year, whatever the man wanted really.
“Want to get a drink first or just walk around a bit?” he asked as he strolled along the path.

I Think You Can Save Me
The past few months had been hard. That much Cairo could not deny. He'd wanted to extend his vacation for a few more weeks, but he'd needed to come back in time for the birth of Daisy and Lyss' child, not to mention his students. Now that he was back in town, he was feeling the weight of it all once more. The last thing he needed was to be stressed, but it was hard to avoid as much. Vacation had been nice, but the thought of encountering Kiba again had left him feeling bad all over again. Cairo felt like the ultimate failure, and that alone was a massive blow to his spirit. The first few days he'd slowly gotten back into the routine of things. A lot of the time he'd just hung out in his office between classes to avoid as many people as possible. When it was time to go home, he drove in silence, letting his thoughts carry him through the drive until he could make it home, shower and sleep. While away on vacation he'd considered resigning. He didn't want to uproot his life again, but it was getting to the point where he found little joy in things that kept him occupied and in a healthy state of mind.
When he'd gotten the call from Bjørn to come out to town, he'd found a spark of life. If there was one thing that helped keep him afloat, it was the werebear. Cairo honestly couldn't be more happy than in the moments that he and his boyfriend shared. He did feel awful that Bjørn was forced to do damage control, but all the same he was grateful. He'd gotten dressed in appropriate clothing for the designated weather and met the younger male at the park. Pride was always a highlight of his year. It pleased him to no ends that he'd get to accompany the most important person in his life to an event that meant a lot to him.
"It's whatever suits your fancy," Cairo mused, his brown eyes bright as he walked next to Bjørn. He wanted popcorn and cotton candy and to win as many prizes as humanly possible. He intended to win a bear for Bjørn by the end of the day, that much was for sure. "I'm not picky, just happy to be here. He smiled at the other.

Bjørn hadn’t managed to get any time off to join Cairo on his holiday, with Daisy taking time away to prepare for her pregnancy and just being on call for her and Lyss should they need anything, he couldn’t justify leaving, the office was a person down after all, so now Cairo was back he was glad to now be getting time away with his boyfriend, even if it was just for a day of fun in the sun. He was hoping this would all prove to be a good idea, sometimes he found the teacher a little hard to read emotion wise but Bjørn liked to think he could tell if Cairo was having fun rather than acting like he was for his sake.
On arrival Bjørn was suddenly very reassured, Cairo looked happier than he had in a long time. Taking his hand Bjørn chuckled faintly at the reply to what they might do first and looked around the area. “You know me, if food and drink is and option that is always what I am going to pick.” He had not all that long ago had breakfast so there was no need to eat, a drink might be nice as it was hot but Bjørn was willing to push down the greedy bear nature and do other things first. “Why don’t you pick? This is a day for us but kinda a day for you.”
Turning he slipped his hand from Cairo’s but only to stand in front of the teacher and place both his hands to the man’s hips. “Be selfish for once and think of yourself, you rarely do.” After giving him a quick kiss he took up a space by Cairo’s side again and placed his hand back. “Tell me what to do, teacher.” he added a little quieter but then smiled again.

I Think You Can Save Me
So far, so good. Cairo was happy to be here, more than words could truly express. There was nothing better in this world than spending time with Bjørn. Being with the werebear made the world feel steady. A lot of the time Cairo tried to keep it together for the sake of those around him. He rarely felt that way when he was with his boyfriend. The man brought out the best in him. Cairo only wished he could repay that gratitude in full. He could bake goods and cook all day for the werebear, but there had to be something more that he could do, right? Maybe just enjoying the now would be enough until he could figure it all out.
The teacher couldn't help but laugh as the younger male spoke of food and drinks being his priority. Bjørn reminded him as a bottomless pit sometimes, in the most endearing of ways. "Food and drinks it is," he mused. "So long as I can get some cotton candy somewhere along the line." Ice cream sounded good too. In fact, any kind of sweet would be nice. "Afterwards let's play a few games. I intend on winning you a big nice bear." He blinked as the other's hand was no longer in his. Cairo stared at Bjørn as the man rested his hands on either side of his hips, telling him to be selfish. Cairo blushed. "I don't think I have a selfish bone in my body," he admitted sheepishly.
"When you're happy, I'm happy." He had a strong feeling that if he'd been born into a different life, he'd be an empath. He really did well when around good energy. Or maybe he'd just spent far too long locked away in his memories to know what it meant to be happy on a normal scale. Whatever the case was, he was slowly getting into the routine again. He appreciated people like Bjørn, Daisy, and Lyss. They were good for him. It was nice to have friends. He smiled into the kiss he received and happily took the other's hand. Again he found himself blushing, harder than before. "You really can't help yourself, can you," he joked, gently bumping the other. "It's hot, let's get something to drink and then onward to the games." They could get food later once they'd burned off the morning energy.

Bjørn would not disagree with the bottemless pit comparison, sometimes he surprised himself with the amount he could demolish without so much as a pause to contemplate just where it could all be going. He only knew that he really seemed to need the calories and was thankful for a fast metabolism and his ability to shift as he was fairly certain that it was only those features that was stopping him from growing to a bears size in both his bodies.
The bear smiled as Cairo said he wanted food and drink but also cotton candy too, Bjørn had no problem with that idea. “Would almost insist. I mean its pink sugar on a stick.” How can anyone say no to that? As long as it was what Cairo hoped to do today, Bjørn planned to go along with it.
Games sounded fun as well and Bjørn grinned at the idea of being won a plushie version of himself, it made him remember that Cairo hadn’t actually seen his real bear yet and was it still too early to suggest such a thing? Bjørn knew that Cairo had anxiety with shifters in the past but would he for his own boyfriend now?
It was a question for another time, right now Bjørn wanted Cairo to enjoy himself, think of himself as it really seemed like he put other people’s wishes and priorities before his own far too often. “Maybe not, but it’s not too late to make one.” He didn’t think Cairo would turn into a total selfish jerk by indulging himself a little, if anything he thought it might do the guy some good.
As nice as it was to know Cairo was happy if he was himself, Bjørn still wanted his boyfriend to enjoy himself for himself, though he couldn’t really be bored out here whatever they did, it still seemed worth encouraging Cairo to take the lead and at least be a bit bossy. “Nope, sorry.” he replied with a shake of his head, not sounding the least bit apologetic. “If you don’t want more, get bossy with me.”
Being told to get drinks then go to games was a good start. “Ok. Good plan.” he said and started to walk to the stands. “Wonder if I can win you a plushie person…” he mused thoughtfully but then laughed.

I Think You Can Save Me
It was impossible to say no to cotton candy. It was deliciously fun. Cairo couldn't think of a time where he'd passed up the opportunity to eat cotton candy. It seemed ill-advised. "Feel free to insists, I won't argue." He smirked at the other. Cairo was mentally making a list of games that he intended to play before they called it a quits today. He wanted to throw darts at balloons, dunk people into the water, and ride as many rides as possible, if they were available. He hadn't exactly researched the event when he'd gotten word that they'd be spending the day in the park. No, he'd been too preoccupied with getting ready in order to not keep Bjørn waiting.
Cairo hadn't spent much time entertaining the thought of seeing the other half of Bjørn. While he'd finally managed to get some nerve about him and not freak out at every shifter passing, he didn't actively engage in conversation with them either. Sometimes he forgot that his boyfriend fell into the category of shifter, minus his appetite. He'd seen the bear once and it was during the time where Kiba and he had been attacked in the forest. It had all been a blur, he barely remembered any distinct features. If Bjørn were to offer up the idea of shifting for him, he'd probably not like the idea, but he'd do it, just to get it over with. At some point, he had to accept everything that the other was, face to face.
Cairo shook his head lightly. "I'll give it a shot." Selfish. It just wasn't a quality he possessed. "Just for you," he said with a wink. He stuck his tongue out. "Uh huh, you sound so apologetic," he teased. "Now you're just trying to tempt me into being bossy. Reverse psychology does not work on me, Bjørn." His eyes held a hint of mischief. He'd figure something out. He couldn't go around blushing like some highschool girl all day. He gave a light snicker at the mention of a plushie person. "That'd make me even happier than I am now," he admitted. "I shall place it on my bed and name it in your honor."

It seemed that at least part of today was going to consist of offending a few dentists but Bjørn really didn’t know how anyone can go to a town fete and not indulge a sweet tooth a little. It suddenly made him wonder if they should seek out what, if any rides that had been set up around here first if Cairo wanted to take part in more physical activity than eating. Bjørn doubted there would be anything major big here since it was only a town park but possibly there would be dogems, the kind of rides that launch you up and down, things that can be on the back of a lorry and driven or towed away… Basically stuff you don’t want to do on too full of a stomach. The bear just went with the flow for now though, he hadn’t really looked into the event but rather saw it was on and just invited Cairo out.
Bjørn also didn’t want to decided all the things they did today so was waiting on Cairo to pick the first activity whatever it might be. It didn’t hurt to be a bit bossy sometimes, Bjørn really thought Cairo might be better at it with being a teacher. He seemed to have the teasing thing down to an art now, admittedly not a great teacher quality but a pretty fun one for a boyfriend. Bjørn just grinned and tried to look innocent to the accusation of tricking Cairo into taking the lead. “Well, if you want me to decided things I can but I might decide the outdoor pool looks inviting and I didn’t bring my trunks.” he said with a causal shrug but then grinned. It was a joke, Bjørn was quite modest for a shifter (or so he would claim) certainly not bold enough to skinny dip in a public pool.
Anyway, drinks were the plan for now and then it seemed games, and winning each other a plushie version of themselves. “I’m going to wait to see what the thing looks like before I decide if that’s a compliment or not.” Bjørn said with a chuckle, some toys at these places were really weird after all.
Looking around as they walked Bjørn took in all the faces of people having fun and then back to Cairo, he assumed the guy was safe enough being around a crowd as wasn’t it touch that triggered his gift? The bear didn’t want to cause worry were there was none by asking but thought he would keep a casual watch over him anyway.
There seemed to be a few places to get refreshments but Bjørn held back a little too just to follow on after Cairo.

I Think You Can Save Me
Cairo kept up with his dental hygiene, so he had no fear of what was to become of his teeth after this eventful day. The brown haired male was hardly considering the consequences of stuffing his face and then running to the nearest ride. Oh no, Cairo had a one track mind that the moment. He loved going on rides, the heights, the thrill! Activities such as these were his weakness. Cai really was a sucker for some good old fashioned outdoor fun.
Okay, so bossy just didn't resonate with Cairo. He was a pushover and when it came to teaching he preferred gentle persuasion and patience to outright orders. Some residents didn't respond to the gentle approach, but their guards were usually there to sort them out. The teacher didn't have a lot of those. In fact, he made it a point of building a rapport to avoid any hostility or negativity in his class.
His expression held nothing but amusement the more his boyfriend spoke. "While I would find the sight lovely, I don't think all would have my appreciation." He leaned over to kiss the other upon the cheek. "Maybe when we get home," he whispered before pulling away. Cairo then snickered. "He won't be nearly as handsome, for no one or nothing can compare, but I'll attempt to get it close." He bit his lip lightly. "What's your fur color?"
Cairo had built his metaphysical walls high, but he was hardly worried. Everyone seemed to be having such a wonderful time. The thing was, when he was around Bjørn, everything seemed safer. There had to be something wild and spontaneous to cause him any sort of grief. The walls were just a precaution.
Noticing that the other wasn't leading the way, Cairo decided to pull them over to a refreshment stand. It was filled with hotdogs and plenty of thirst quenching drinks. He glanced at Bjørn. "What do you want?"

Bjørn nodded and put on a pretend expression of disappointment that skinny dipping on the pool was unlikely to be received well by anyone else. “You are probably right.” he said with a small sigh, “And being shouted at by someone in uniform seems more of an end of the day thing than a beginning one.” Which would likely happen should he really have any intention of declothing and jumping in any pool. But then Bjørn grinned, something that grew a little more as the kiss was planted to his cheek. He was going to hold Cairo to that even if it was only a possibility of happening rather than a promise.
It was nice for Bjørn to see Cairo relaxed enough to tease and joke, it was starting to give him a bit of a swell head with all the compliments too. “Hope not, don’t want to be replaced if you suddenly like plushie bjørn better… Light brown, a bit like my hair colour really. Nothing special.” Bjørn replied when asked about his fur colour. It changed a little depending on the season with the winter coat being heavier and a bit darker looking but not drastically. Bjørn would be happy enough with whatever Cairo decided to win for him though.
Reaching the drinks stand Bjørn looked around and at what they seemed to be serving, a beer sounded nice and the hotdogs smelt fantastic. Would it be bad to say ‘all of it?’ “Er, maybe a beer and a hotdog.” he said, then later candyfloss and maybe an ice cream. Possibly another hotdog if they tasted as good as they smelled or a burger, for a bit of variety. Fruit at some point he guessed would be a good idea just to balance things out or at least a fruity drink.

I Think You Can Save Me
Cairo would hardly say that anyone besides him would be pleased with the sight of a naked Bjørn. Bjørn was built well enough to catch anyone's attention and cause a double take or three. Personally, the brown haired clairvoyant could stare at Bjørn all day and night. He smiled at the disappointment and ran his hand gently along the other's jawline. "Don't look so down," he mused. "Besides, I'd get jealous," he added with a small teasing smile. Cairo was not the jealous type at all, but since a certain bear was demanding he be more forward, he went along with it. And yes, their day would come to an abrupt end. That would truly be disappointing when there was so much to do at the given moment. A little sunlight and happy vibes were doing the man well.
"Hmm? Well, if plushie Bjørn is soft and large enough for me to cuddle, I just might, more so if you go flaunting off this," he motioned to Bjørn as a whole, "to the world." He stuck his tongue out at the other. He made a mental note of the bear's fur, light brown. That was easy enough to remember. Cairo was already retrieving his wallet while he waited for the other to figure out his order. Cairo had decided on a hotdog for sure. He couldn't possibly resist the smell. It made his stomach growl a bit. "Two beers and two hotdogs, please." Cairo had been expecting his boyfriend to order so much more. After paying, he handed the items to the younger male. "One hotdog and beer for you, one hotdog and beer for me." He then took a bite of his food. "Mmhm, this is delicious. Can't go wrong with something that smells this good." He nodded to a table. "Want to sit and chow down, or shall we move on to our next objective?"

Bjørn just laughed at the idea he might be replaced with a plushie version of himself, he knew Cairo was teasing and there was no real fear of it happening, if for no other reason than he really wasn’t a show off, so he couldn’t see himself offending Cairo into finding a replacement bear that way. Although, “I guess it would save on your shopping bill.” Bjørn said thoughtfully but then smiled thinking if Cairo hadn’t dumped him over the increased food bill already then he probably was ok with that too. The bear liked to think he helped to cover the cost anyway when they had dinner together since he did eat the bigger share.
Right now Cairo might be buying the food again but Bjørn planned to pay for the sweet treats they had later and any games Cairo might want to have a go playing. As the hotdogs came Bjørn took his own along with the drink and grinned as his boyfriend said one was for him along with a beer while the others were for himself. “I know, wasn’t going to take both.”
Looking around Bjørn picked up some mustard bottle and squeezed some on then did the same with a ketchup bottle. Taking a bite too he let out a small moan of pleasure and then shrugged, “Umf.” he said but then chewed a little more and washed the bite of hotdog down with some beer. “Don’t mind.” he said after swallowing, “I can eat and walk. Looks like it’s getting busy so if you want to do stuff guess now is the time.”
Bjørn still wanted Cairo to lead things though ideally for himself they would get away from the food stands, the hotdog in his hand was rapidly disappearing and just as his boyfriend knows how much he can stuff away did not mean Bjørn wants a load of strangers to see it too, although the bear is sure the vendors wouldn’t complain at the income.

I Think You Can Save Me
Cairo gave a thoughtful look. "Probably, but I quite enjoy cooking for you. Gives me a reason to find new recipes." Cairo enjoyed the trips to the market, picking new ingredients off the shelves to wipe up something new and delicious once he'd made it back home. He also enjoyed having Norwegian meals with someone who could appreciate them. In truth, Cairo just liked to stay busy. If he was engulfed in making meals, he wasn't thinking about all the other things that were going on in his life. For him, cooking was a nice little escape and since his boyfriend had an enormous appetite, he could spend more time baking goods and putting together dishes. It was really a win-win situation. The cost of the food was no big deal to him.
The brown haired male snickered. "I didn't think you would," he mused as he gave the other a small bump. "Thought, I wouldn't be too surprised either." Cairo looked ahead of them. Bjørn was right, the place was starting to get crowded. He wanted to be the majority of the crowds so they wouldn't be stuck waiting all day. He took a few gulps of his beer and started forward. "Onward," he said, pointing with the bottle in the direction of the dunking station. Cairo was careful not to bump into anyone as they walked. He was in too good a mood for it to be ruined by someone else's memories.
He grinned as they arrived. He finished off the last bite of his sandwich and raised a brow at Bjørn. "Bjørn, I challenge you. If you can dunk him before me, I will, hmm," he thought for a second. "I will give you a back massage when we get home, but if not, you owe me one." He gave a resolute nod. "Shall we begin?"

With Cairo’s cooking talents and his own eating talent, Bjørn knew he would get pretty large if it wasn’t for a weekly gym routine and the energy it took to shift into something as large as his bear form, which itself needed a good deal of food to keep going. If he took to eating his boyfriends lunch when the chance came then he knew he either have to add in more gym work or just give in to a life of gluttony. Or burn Cairo’s recipe books? The extra gym sounded the better idea. But Bjørn knew Cairo was teasing and he took another bite of his own hotdog and washed it down with some beer. “I might have to grab something else before we leave.” he said as he looked around, one hot dog didn’t quite fill the hole.
Walking onwards Bjørn took in the sights and tried his best to ignore the smells of the area. There were so many people around that he had to wonder if anyone else from Manson had ventured into town for the day, resident or student, or just some fellow supernatural who kept themselves to themselves but was drawn out by the colours and the sounds of an event where they could blend in amongst the crowds.
When they reached the dunking station Bjørn grinned at the guy and took another gulp of beer. The hotdog was gone and fingers licked clean so the bear was all ready to test his throwing arm and he glanced to Cairo as a challenged was offered. Tasing an eyebrow Bjørn thought it over, to him, win or lose, he was going to get something fun out of it so he took little time accepting. “Ok, sounds good. Do I get to pick the oil too?” Bjørn was feeling confident but wouldn’t mind being defeated as either way things were going to get handsy when they got home.
Passing over his beer for the moment and taking out his wallet Bjørn paid for them each to have a try, three balls each. “Challengee goes first?” he asked with a grin after picking up a ball. Bjørn had no idea how hard or easy this would be, he was athletic to some degree but that was more for running, lifting things, stuff that was useful for shifting so he had never practiced throwing things at a target
Taking a step to the line he aimed and threw at the small target and hit just to the side of it. “Harder than it looks.” he said with a chuckle.

I Think You Can Save Me
Cairo glanced over his shoulder, a brow slightly raised as Bjørn stated he'd have to get something before they left. He gave an amused grin. "You're not telling me anything I don't already know." The teacher would have been awfully upset if his recipe books had gone up in flame. Albeit, it'd be an excuse to buy twice as many. Cairo had amazing self-control, but that would be one reason to just go wild and do as he pleased. Cairo took a few more gulps from his beer. "Don't worry, I won't let you starve," he teased. "That wouldn't do either of us much good." Cairo would never allow his boyfriend to starve. If Bjørn had requested a homemade meal right then and there, Cairo would have hijacked a food stand. Okay, maybe he wasn't that dedicated, but he'd be happy to figure something out for the bear.
Cairo agreed, there were plenty of people out there. It would be hard to doubt that someone from Manson was roaming through the masses. Cairo would rather not run into them unless it was one of his coworkers that he was friends with. There was staff that even Cairo avoided for the simple fact that they were unapproachable. Honestly, Cairo enjoyed his off days where he wasn't subject to Manson's influence. It wasn't exactly a cheerful place. In his classroom where he had control of the environment, things were perfect, but outside of that, Cairo just had to dunk and dive.
The brown eyed male beamed with joy as Bjørn accepted the terms for the game. He avoided sticking his tongue out this time because the context of the conversation seemed to be shifting. "Sure, you can pick the oil," he finally said with a warm smile. Cairo took the beer that was handed to him and stood back as the other paid. Three balls each. He could manage that. "Toss away," he mused. Cairo watched as his boyfriend missed the mark. "Better luck next time," he said with a small chuckle. Cairo knew it wasn't as easy as it looked. He had no doubts that he would be in the same boat as Bjørn. He just didn't have that type of precision, but it made it all the more fun.

As tempting as it was to sit around and discuss food all day Bjørn knew he needed to get moving or this day for Cairo would rapidly turn into a day for feeding his face, which was really what he did the other six days of the week. Tomorrow could be a day for talking about new recipes, trying new things… Still, Bjørn licked his lips as he walked but it was more to do with the hotdog he was eating than he was already planning the meals for the week ahead.
