What the hell was this place? Getting around this place and getting used to all the rules sucked. Especially since she was just constantly hungry and struggling to focus on anything else. She'd been told she would find food in the canteen, so that's where she was heading. Dev had started out at a normal pace because she couldn't really control anything else that came with this new state of being she found herself in, but every time she walked past someone, she just wanted to sink her teeth into them and had to run away to avoid doing that. Having had little to no education on how to navigate her new speed though, she wound up misjudging the doorway and ran smack into the wall and falling back on her butt. "Jesus!" she exclaimed as she sat back up. Someone was approaching, she assumed to help her up, but their heartbeat was just too loud. "Keep moving unless you want to be dinner," she said, not meaning to sound quite as threatening as it came across, but more as a warning. Rubbing her forehead gently, she got an idea to keep herself distracted from everyone else while trying to make it without biting into someone else. Biting into her own arm, even if her blood gave her no sustenance, kept her from jumping on anyone while she got back on her feet and decided to try again to make it to some actual food. She had a feeling this must be what a wolf felt like looking at a flock of sheep though, just circling the buffet of people. EZRA TITUS LELLOUCHE

Ez's stash was still holding up pretty damn well, so the Jinn was in a pretty good mood as he wandered down the corridor towards the canteen. He had forgone shoes but had been good enough to pull on a loose tshirt and his jeans so he wasn't anybody worth staring at, not with bed head and a worn looking rucksack thrown over his shoulder. Ez doesn't particularly want a lot of attention today, he'd like to just grab some bloodbags and go and enjoy the impending high elsewhere rather than surrounded by people he'd quite like to sink fangs into. Bloodbags keep him sated, but he does prefer the hot flood of something fresher washing down his throat but he's not a monster.. He's still just new to this, but he likes to think he has a hold on it. Whenever he starts to think he doesn't then he usually runs back to his room or throws himself onto the end of Vaith's bed in a flail of 'ahh help me!'.
He hasn't done that in a while.. Though, he might go over that evening and try and cuddle up with the guy with the pretense of watching a movie. Ez thrives off of attention, especially from his sire, even more so if he can feel that the guy's happy.
Plus he can get high with the guy and not feel like he'll be judged. It's a winwin.
He caught the scent of blood on the air and glanced over to where a woman stood with her arm in her mouth. Was she.. Was she biting herself? Ez cocked an eyebrow and sidled over, approaching her without caution because he's quite aware that there aren't many people who can catch him. Vaith can, because he can literally order him to get caught, and Kyzer because when wouldn't he want the half ghoul's hands on him? Everybody else would have trouble laying a hand upon him.. Unless he's high, or there's fresh blood around, but he doesn't go around advertising that.
"... Probably shouldn't do that," he chimed out when he was around a few foot from her, he'd grabbed a bloodbag from his backpack and held it out to her with a lopsided grin, "they'll put you in a padded cell or somethin', you're looking like a bit of a nutjob."

Dev hadn't really expected it to work to bite herself to drown out the temptation to bite everyone else, but at least it confused her sense of smell enough that it didn't seem quite so tempting and important to bite into everyone else. There was blood here, a scent to focus on while she decided to keep trying to make her way to the place they had the stupid blood. Why she wasn't allowed to just bite anyone was beyond her, wouldn't that be so much more satisfying? Surely that would make this hunger go away faster than sipping on non-fresh stuff. She pulled away from her arm when someone held out a bloodbag toward her like that. "Have you ever considered that some people might just be appropriately nutty?" she asked, grabbing the bag and biting into it, struggling to get it open before she finally managed to get a tear into it and spilled a bit in the process before she was unable to just casually sip it. No, she drank it down like she hadn't eaten in a week, because that's what it felt like at this point, even if she knew that wasn't the case at all. No, this seemed like the new normal every evening when she woke up. "Because that's not massively disappointing or unsatisfying at all," she said, wiping her mouth at least, on the back of her hand, even if she knew she probably had some blood on herself too after both struggling to get it open and struggling to keep her pace down when she finally got it open. "Still, probably saved someone from being chowed on and my arm from getting more hurt, so appreciate it, I guess," she said, turning her arm over to look it over for a moment. "You heading to eat too?"

Ez can't really say he's ever bitten himself to stop from biting other people. He's accidentally bitten his own lips a whole bunch of times though and that hurt plenty enough.. Whenever he's got too bitey he's always had somebody friendly enough to let him have a little nibble. Even Vaith wasn't entirely opposed to him biting. Sometimes. Sometimes he was lucky to find his sire in a good enough mood to get a little bit of the older vampire's blood.. It might not actually fill him up in the same way a bloodbag does, but the guy's tasty. Not as tasty as Ky, but.. Who was he kidding, really, Ez only thinks the people close to him are the tastiest because they're the only ones he ever sinks fangs into.
He laughed a little when she managed to spill a little bit of the bag before she literally downed it down like a starving woman, "nah, love, biting into your arm is just plain craz-ay, you ain't going to get any satisfaction out of it. Definitely isn't going to fill your stomach.. 'Specially if you haven't eaten recently, you won't have nothing to drink down." Ez isn't sure if that's true with all Vampires, but he knows that if he hasn't had anything for a while and then gets hurt.. Well, he barely bleed at all. He bleeds pretty normally these days, he's usually always munching on a bloodbag. Or Ky. It's impossible not to nibble on him just a little bit whenever he gets offered the chance.
He just rose an eyebrow at her blase attitude towards biting somebody, "so.. You prefer to munch on people too, hu? Not always the best of ideas, especially in here, a lot of people will bite back.. And those things do kind of grow on you. Eventually." When had he turned? About six months ago now and he could sip on them all day now if needs be, "I'm Ez, heading to the canteen to restock on bloodbags, always make sure to have a few on me. And munch a few down at the same time too. I, uh, recommend you do the same? So you don't end up being monitored for self harming." Because, essentially, that's what she was doing by biting into her arm like that.
He shrugged his backpack back up onto his shoulder and offered her a lopsided smile, "and note this, you go biting people 'round here you'll get locked up and stuck on a bag diet, so.. Just watch it." He started walking off to the canteen, "y'coming?"

Dev didn’t really agree that biting her arm was crazy, it was better than making everyone that passed dinner. Or at least, judging from how she’d been told not to bite people it seemed like a better way. “If I’d been looking to fill my stomach, I would’ve eaten the help,” she pointed out. She had merely been looking for a distraction after all, to keep her focus off of everyone else. Couldn’t get herself locked in a room for accidentally killing someone because nobody had ever bothered to teach her anything. “Munching on people is so much more satisfying. Though they do tend to end up dead…” She didn’t really have the best record of that, but then she didn’t really know how to stop once she got started, which was probably why she had downed the blood bag so quickly. Well, that and the fact that she was starving. “I was actually heading that way to do just that before I hit the wall,” she said, raising an eyebrow. She hadn’t exactly been heading this way for fun after all. “Devyn,” she offered, realizing that maybe she should at least make some effort to be a little nicer to this guy. He had just offered her a snack after all. “Who’s doing the sticking people on diets?” she asked, genuinely curious before she started walking next to him. At least he didn’t have a heartbeat like that person who’d tried to help earlier. “And why bags? Why not glasses of fresh stuff? Surely there has to be someone around the nuthouse willing to donate.” Honestly, she’d be happier with freshly donated blood than the bags, even if it would be hard to avoid biting a donor in such a situation.

For a vampire a little more in control of their hunger it did look a little bit crazy to see another vapire biting into their arm. Ez didn't know that she was so newly turned that everything looked like food to her.. There was nothing quite so terrifying and fascinating as coming to terms with all of the newly enhanced senses, hearing people's heartbeats was admittedly something weird. Ezra learned to try and disassociate a heartbeat with food though, sipping on the bloodbags was nasty but ultimately ridiculously helpful. He'd been quite petulant about the fang ban Vaith had put him on at the time, but it really had been the best thing the older vampire could have forced him into.. He should get Vaith something again. Come to think of it, there's a mothers day and a father's day, is there a sire's day? He's starting a tradition.
I digress. Most people would think Dev was definitely crazy just stood there biting herself. The Jinn is pretty open minded and he thought she was. Either that or really, really hungry. He can empathise there.
He cocked a brow and glanced at her wrist, looking for the band that might label her as a killer, or a psychopath, but he was pleasantly surprised to see that she was an addict like him. Hm. Unless she had that because she was addicted to blood? Or maybe she was high now? "Uh," what was he supposed to say about her killing people so easily? He'd killed two since he'd been turned and he couldn't even think about them without guilt almost taking over him, "how many have you drained..? I mean, that's proper bad, even though they are usually a lot tastier. Can't deny that." She was a sarky one, wasn't she? He smirked a little as he walked and refused to comment on how she'd hit a wall. He still did that sometimes, unlike most people though he could dissipate before he collided with them. Win.
And he had a name to call the crazy vamp by now, result.
Glasses of the fresh stuff? "Not a bad idea, but they'd have to be super close to make it fresh and still warm, blood cools proper quick, think you could focus on the glass and not just jump on the donor? Bags are pretty much the same as a glass would be anyways, I mean," he glanced at her and grinned, "sealed for freshness." They just weren't warm really, and made the fangs a little obsolete. Ez likes his fangs. Apart from when he bites into his own lip or tongue, that still happens, "me thinks if anybody starts to bleed around you you'd kill 'em anyway? Just how old are ya? Vampywise I mean, never ask a lady her actual age." Manners and all. Vaith should be proud.

Everything here was still so very new to her. She had come to terms with the fact that vampires were real, because that was obviously what she as now, but she was entirely clueless as to what else really existed. Everything she’d heard of in stories? Or just a selection of stories? She could really use a ‘supernatural world 101’ class to get her started on all this. Then again, maybe she should learn to focus first and not want to make everyone her dinner. The heartbeats just made her want to lunge though because she didn’t really know how to shut out that instinct to just eat or stop registering the heartbeats in the first place. Dev didn’t really know the answer to that question because for the most part she had been pushed towards people when she was starving and no amount of trying to quench her thirst had really worked. “Not as many as you’re thinking by the sounds of things,” she said, shrugging slightly. “If it makes you feel better, they were all junkies.” Her sire had at least had the ‘decent’ sense not to let her loose on people who were likely to be quite as surprising if went missing. “Which explains this I suppose,” she said, twisting her purple band. She wouldn’t mind getting clean again, but the truth was she did actually forget about the hunger for a while when she was high. “Microwave to heat it up then,” she suggested when he pointed out the biggest flaw with glasses right now. Because he was right, she wouldn’t really be able to stop herself from jumping the donor if she smelled the fresh blood on them. “Worked in Buffy, don’t see why it couldn’t in real life,” she offered for a justification of her suggestion. The truth was that she probably wouldn’t mind the bags so much if they were actually warm. Not too warm, but like people warm. Dev frowned slightly at his question because he was probably right there too. Not because she’d want to, but because she wouldn’t really be able to help it. “One… no… two weeks, or thereabouts?” she replied, trying to get another few drops out of the already empty bag before she tossed it in a bin. She was trying her best here, but she was all alone in figuring this out and too proud to ask for help right now. Mostly because she was pretty angry about all this just yet too.

Ez held up his own wrist with the same purple band and cocked a brow at her, "it doesn't really make it better at all actually.. Junkies deserve to live just as much as those who don't take drugs." He didn't know that her sire had pretty much thrown her at people when she needed feeding, in that case he wouldn't be blaming her for having killed people at all, but there was quite the obvious fact that she didn't seem bothered by what she'd done in the slightest. He himself had killed two people and he can't bring himself to mention it to anybody, hell, he can't even think about it without feeling like a horrible person. And she just told him willingly and easily like it were nothing.. It was a little unnerving actually. It made him think a little less of her, but he was a nice enough person not to rub it in her face and make her feel bad.
It isn't like she's killed anybody he knows personally.. And making anybody feel bad is the opposite of what he wants to do. Apart from Mel, the other Jinn seems to be an exception.
"There's nothing wrong with being a junkie, I do pretty well on it," he added with a small grin, but then he made a slightly grossed out face at the mention of microwaved blood, "I thought that'd be nice too, did it a few times with the bags. By the way cut a corner off of the bags before you nuke them because otherwise you'll have one hell of a mess on your hands to clean up." Ez had been a bit useless in the real world even before he was turned into a vampire, the typical teenage boy who's parents pretty much did everything for him. Until they disowned him at sixteen of course, "and nuking kinda.. It tastes weird. Letting them float in warm water helps a bit, but I usually just take mine room temperature from my bag.. And have a couple of donors who can stop me, helps if you care about the person, y'know? Cos, we're not monsters, I like to think we won't drain our friends."
Did he.. Did he need to tell her that Buffy isn't the best example of vampires in the real world? Surely she wasn't taking her notes from that right?
They were still walking when she'd finished the bag of blood and upon hearing that she'd only been undead one of two weeks he pulled another bloodbag out of his rucksack and bit into the corner of it for her before passing it over, "you need this more than me.. Damn, where'd your sire go? And why's he or she just letting you wander around thinking all people are food? Cos that's kind of messed up, should probably tell them they're useless. Want me to tell 'em?" Between one step and the next he took to floating an inch off of the floor, turning around in the air so he could watch her as they entered the canteen, "I've been this for.. uh, six, seven months? Took to it like a duck on water, it's not a bad life."
And he'd got a new family out of it. Kind of. He has no idea if Vaith see's him as such. Probably shouldn't want to jump into bed with family actually.. But what other word could he use for it? It wasn't weird to him. But.. Hm. Is there a human word for what a Sire is like? He'll pester Vaith on where he stands at a later date. When they're both slightly less than sober, conversation seems to run smoother then.

Dev wanted to chew her lip, but she couldn’t very well do that right now or she’d end up really biting into it too. Stupid fangs. “But less likely to be a surprise when they die,” she commented. “Is what asshole said anyway, I just wanted to stop starving.” She had a hard time seeing what she’d done as wrong solely because she had been so hungry she hadn’t been able to help herself once she got started. If she started feeling bad about it, she might as well just walk into daylight and be done with all this bullshit rather than try to make sense of it and try to make a life for herself. She nodded at what he said. There was nothing technically wrong with it, but she kind of missed her old life these days. Missed all the hard work she had put into making a life for herself, but she supposed she had finally gotten a proper chance to make something of herself separate from her family. It wasn’t like she could ever go back home now, right? How on earth was she going to explain all this? What he had to say about the microwave and hot water made her frown slightly. Not because she didn’t like what he was saying, but because she honestly hadn’t thought about that yet. “Never been a people person,” she admitted. “Guess I should just ask someone to drug the bags. Seems to make the hunger go away faster than the clean stuff anyway.” Dev offered him a grateful smile when he offered her another bag, even saving her the trouble of opening it herself. “Thanks,” she said as she sipped it and listened to him talk. “Ditched me here, so guess I don’t really have one anymore. Asshole didn’t get who he thought he was, even with the ability to order around.” Devyn was angry with the guy, she wanted to find him and drag him out into daylight, consequences be damned for herself. He’d have it coming and that was all that mattered at the end of the day. “I’m guessing you knew about all this beforehand then,” she said when she learned he’d been this for at least half a year at this point. By how he was floating, she was guessing he hadn’t exactly been human beforehand either.

Ez still bites his lip every now and then eve to this day, it's a habit that's hard to break out of.. Usually it's okay if his fangs aren't descended, but he also can't control them all of the time either. If he so much as smells fresh blood then they usually pop out. The bagged blood doesn't do it for him though.. Unless somebody spills it on the floor like a menace, that might do it. Ez frowned a little at her continued answer, "yeah.. That makes sense, but like.." What could he say about that? Her sire wasn't exactly wrong, if they were going to eat people then that'd be the way to do it, "but, don't have to kill them at all, I mean, he literally could have ordered you to stop before you drained them dry, you know that right? The sire bond is proper strong like that."
Ez hadn't had much of a life to mourn in the first place, he lost his life when Dean turned into the bastard he truly was deep down and when he was free from Dean, well, he had nothing. But, now he had people he loved and felt he could rely on.. Family. Friends. Even some people he wouldn't call enemies, but they weren't quite friends either. Like Dutch. She was fun to piss off, she may smack him but perhaps he's a little bit of a masochist or it's just a price worth paying for cheap or inappropriate shots. And she was hilarious on drugs, he'd always remember that night even through the haze of his own high. Friends? Nyeh, not quite, if he said friends then the dynamic between them could change and he likes it as is. Not enemies either. If somebody was running at her with a knife he'd totally trip them. So, definitely not enemies.
"What?" He asked bluntly, looking amazed for a moment, "why not? People are amazing, without them this world would be pretty shitty. Nobody to bite, nobody to piss off, nobody to bounce jokes off of, not to mention sex is so much better with two, one's just a lonely night." Then it sank in what she'd said about the bags and he smirked a little, "my blood has a bit of a kick even when I'm not noticeably high.. But if I take a few more things I might not care if you practice biting a wrist. Pretty sure I could escape from a newbie vamp and it'll tide your cravings. Probably fuck you up, it'll be fun." Mostly for him, Ez kind of enjoys watching people succumb to drugs, it's amusing.
He'd ditched her? What a bastard, "did he properly disown you though? Like.. Break the sire bond?" She'd have known it if he had done so. Somebody had once told him if felt a little like a blow to the gut. Ez isn't sure he ever wants Vaith to do something like that, he'd be absolutely broken. For a guy who's species is fundamentally meant to serve, to be discarded would be absolutely awful, "if he didn't you could probably find him when you've sorted yourself out and kick him in the nuts." As much as that hurt like hell he still thinks that some guys deserve that treatment.
"You mean all this supernatural stuff?" He asked and flashed her a brief grin, "yeah, I've never been wholly human. Parents wanted us to be though so I don't know as much as I could have done, but I like to think I've brushed up on most of my monster facts now. Anything you're dying to know?"

Dev hadn't really felt like herself in a while, but she was starting to feel more like her old self as time went by. Maybe if the last couple of weeks hadn't been consumed by hunger, she would've felt bad about killing those people, but she blamed the man that had done this to her for their deaths, not herself. He'd done this to her then pushed her at those people after all. "Well, he didn't," she said, not sure what else there was to say about it at this point. It just made it even more his fault in her mind. Listening to him speak about how people were amazing had her frowning slightly. Sure, he had some good points about it all, but it didn't fit with her experience at all. "People are also quick to call you a bitch if you try to be too many things at once." She had always thought she could be whoever it was she wanted to be, but often times when she'd tried to be smart, strong and pretty all at once it felt like the world expected her to choose. Like she couldn't just be herself without being shunned. She smiled slightly when he said she might be able to practice on him like that, while he wasn't registering as food on her radar right now, it was better than practicing on someone she might just end up killing after all. "Getting fucked up is better than starving," she said, chuckling slightly. "Makes it easier to forget the hunger for a while too." There was a reason why she hadn't asked someone on staff to help her sober up after all, because the hunger was easier to deal with if she wasn't sober. Eventually she'd want to sober up again and figure out a new way of living, but right now it seemed like the best tool to help gain some control over this. "I don't know," she replied honestly. She had wanted to kill the man from the moment she'd woken up this undead thing, so she figured he probably must have if he wanted to make sure she wouldn't be able to find him again to keep her promise. "I can't feel him out there somewhere if that's what you mean." She really didn't have a clue what any of these terms were, but then again this was all very new to her. The whole supernatural world in general, so she couldn't be expected to know everything right away. Man, that must suck. Knowing you weren't like most people around you but being forced to pretend all your life. Shit. That's what she had to do now, wasn't it? Pretend to be normal around everyone else even while she just wanted to pounce and feed? "Everything?" she replied, before she shrugged slightly. "Probably best to just learn the basics that relate to being dead first. No sunlight and blood is pretty much as far as we got before I was left here."

"Sounds like a prick." That was all he had to say about that.. He'd been put straight onto bloodbags when he'd been turned.. Ok, so, he'd had Rob to teach him how not to drain somebody, he'd had him to tell him no or to stop and the compulsion to obey had overwhelmed the hunger, making it quite easy for him to stop. Ez isn't an idiot, he knows not everybody has the same experience.. He'd also been 'lucky' enough to be put on a ban of fresh blood, to the point where he literally couldn't break past the compulsion put in place to use his fangs. But, it was important to him that she didn't think that just because people were considered 'lowlife's' by society that it didn't matter if they died..
Vaith could have left him to die that time, he would have been nothing else but a junkie statistic, but he'd been saved. He could have been a kick of a meal just like those who'd died with her fangs in their neck and then nothing more than a smudge of a bad memory. Yeah, he's thankful as hell for his sire, despite the fact that he was the one who'd almost drained him in the first place.
He just cocked an eyebrow at her comment of being called a 'bitch'.. "Uh, not always? Maybe you've just been hanging around the wrong kind of people. My best friend out there, she was loud, outspoken, a little bit arrogant but bloody hilarious. Some people thought she was a bitch but she was the nicest, most loyal person I'd ever met. It's all about perspective, ain't it? And not blaming the world for the reactions of a handful of twats." She really hadn't had good luck with meeting people at all, had she? Ez wasn't exactly pitying her, but he also hoped to god she wasn't one of those mopey idiots who let the past dictate all of her future actions. The Jinn has no time for people who live in the past..
"It's never a good idea to try and forget the hunger," he pointed out with a little snicker, "it'll creep up onto you and when that kind of bloodthirst hits you, you can't control what you do," it wasn't a funny topic, but he couldn't help but be a little bit amused by her misunderstanding of the whole hunger thing. It can't be ignored, just tided over with the careful application of frequent snacking. Ez is the king of snacking, hence why he carries bloodbags around with him.. Though, now he's been trying his luck with people. Not so lucky so far.
"But don't worry, I probably don't seem very tasty to you, vampires can't live off of other vampires, but like, it still tastes good. And helps that I bleed like a human still," because he's still a newbie vamp and drinks so much, "not saying I want you to turn me into a sieve though, that's not what I'm offering.. Or anything else, no offence, but you don't do it for me." As for her sire.. He could feel Vaith nearby, but then he was nearby really, he was in the same general vicinity. Would that fade if he moved further away from the older vampire? He doesn't think so. So had her sire just dumped her and disowned her? That sucks.. But she could have been left in a worse place.
"Dead blood is bad, will give you a real bad tummy ache.. And I wouldn't go eating a meal if I were you," his smile turned a little sheepish, "It's not pretty if you do. Unless you take little bites of stuff along with a few mouthfuls of blood. I've eaten a few bits here and there by doing that.. Like strawberries."
As they entered the canteen he wandered straight over to the refridgeration unit and dumped three more bags of blood into his rucksack and grabbed two for himself. He gestured for her to help herself and wandered over to the nearest free table. He might as well sit and carry on their conversation here.

Dev couldn't help the bitter laughter that escaped her when he said her maker sounded like a prick. She couldn't agree more. Asshole had thought that just because she liked to have fun once in a while, she'd want to go on like this forever. That she wanted to be with him after he stole her life. How the heck was she supposed to do what she'd wanted with her life now? "Would've preferred staying dead," she said finally. If he was going to take her life anyway, it would've been better if he'd just ended it rather than curse her to this. "Only reason I haven't is because the sun fucking hurts." Yeah, no, not an option. Things might get better, but she wasn't quite there yet. She nodded slightly at what he said about her hanging around the wrong kinds of people. "Lawyers, doctors, diplomats... Went to schools with kids of all three and they were all entitled dickheads. Guess I kind of am too, probably why we didn't get along well." Dev knew she'd been an entitled brat at times herself. She might be a bitch, but at least she could be self-aware. "'Rents wanted another doctor in the house, but I get the feeling they're just going to be left to wonder now." She hadn't really wanted to go down that route anyway and had taken an interest in other studies, but that didn't mean that she knew how to explain the situation to them. "It's kind of hard for completely forget when it's damn near constant, but not having to think about it for a few hours is nice." She didn't mind not thinking about the hunger even if it was hard to forget for a while. "Hey, I'm not making sieves out of people..." she said, pouting slightly. "And no offense, but my brain is all about curbing the hunger these days, so even if you were offering more, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it anyway." With the hunger feeling so all-consuming at times, she didn't really know how to enjoy anything else right now. Dead blood was bad, yeah, that made sense. She didn't quite believe what he said about food though. That sounded crazy. Clearly, she needed to stop watching TV. Or movies. No, that needed to be tested out for herself. Dev followed him to the fridge grabbing a few for herself as well, figuring she should bring some for later. She was stilling sipping the one he'd given her though, trying not to down it as fast as the first one. "So what is this place?" she asked, figuring that was a good place to start too. "Other than an apparently dumping ground..."

"Yeah.. The sun burns like a bitch," he murmured in an attempt to try and make the woman feel a little bit better. It sucked being unable to be able to lounge in the sun, knowing that the great big burning ball of fire in the sky was now a bad thing. Cancer was literally the least of their worries. "But being dead sucks.. I know ghosts exist and stuff, but like, nobody actually knows about the afterlife, personally dying would be boring, you don't want that." He grinned at her and nudged her lightly with his shoulder, "cheer up chuck, the 'hungry all the time' thing passes and you'll love this life, it's brilliant really, just think about all of the things that we'll get to experience and we'll look this gorgeous forever, that's something right? No wrinkles! No sagginess." He's calling that a win. And if he does ever want to end it, well, he'll take so many drugs he won't even be aware of the sun burning him up. Simples.
Still. Her sire was an absolute prick. Shouldn't go turning people who don't want it.. He was a different matter of course, he'd got himself into the situation he'd ended up in and he'd been saved. Totally different.
He made a face when she mentioned who exactly she'd been hanging around, "no bloody wonder, schools like that are full of pretentious twats, that kind of thing happens in the upper classes.. Me and my family, we were working class, y'know? Like, proper common and stuff but we were happy. Had a community around us that supported each other and stuff.. Kids got bullied sometimes, happens everywhere, but nobody got made to feel bad for being themselves." It was nice of her to admit that she was a bit of an entitled brat sometimes though, because that made a lot more sense when she'd turned around and asked if she could eat the people around them. No, bad vampire. He kind of didn't say anything about her family though, his own family wouldn't care where he was so he couldn't really empathise much with her there..
Plus, talking about family kind of makes him sad.
He waited until he was sat down and sipping on his own bloodbag to continue talking. He'd leant forward a little with his elbows on the surface of the table and he sipped in between sentences, "this place is Manson... Not really a dumping ground, people like me found this place and made it a haven, because that's what it is really. They help people to control themselves if that's what they need, or to learn to live among humans or, well anything to help us live happy lives. There are others here a well, dangerous people they keep locked away to protect the humans and supernaturals out there. But they look after them too, try and rehabilitate those who can be. It's a nice place." He thinks so anyway, there are a lot of people here who'd disagree with him of course. His boyfriend being one of them.

Maybe if she had been brought into this under different circumstances or by someone who actually gave a fuck about sticking around through the attitude and helping her learn and adjust, she wouldn’t have wished for it all to be over. As it was, she was just so hungry all time. Hungry and angry. It was a terrible combination really. “At least it’d be something my folks can deal with, you know? Someone to bury, a way to move on. Now I gotta find a reasonable way of cutting them out of my life.” Dev hadn’t really stopped being in touch with her parents just yet, but because of the time difference she knew they weren’t asking too many questions about the time of day she called. Sooner or later they’d want to see her again though. Unless she found a good way to disappear where they wouldn’t come looking for her. “Maybe. Will the angry all the time pass too?” she asked, genuinely curious if he’d have an answer to that. She figured the constant hunger would pass eventually. Dev knew she probably would’ve been better off going to regular schools in her formative years, but her parents had insisted on only the best. They hadn’t worked their asses off so their kids could go to regular schools. “My brothers can do no wrong, whereas I was always told to shut up and look pretty. Well, maybe not quite as directly, but it was implied. There’s a reason why I put an ocean between up when I finished high school. I wanted to be able to study what I wanted without losing that cushy allowance. Not that I’m likely to end up using any of it now.” Dev might have chosen her classes as an act of defiance and to get to do what she wanted with her life, but she honestly couldn’t imagine anyone hiring her for anything now. Most place didn’t just have night shifts after all, least of all in the kind of things she’d studied. “Ever heard of a night shift translator? Or diplomatic aid? Or I don’t know, anything that isn’t inside or a security gig?” She certainly hadn’t. While he was talking, Dev was making the most out of the blood bag. It was making it easier to focus on him than everyone around them after all and she had no desire to bite him so that helped. It was hard not to feel like this place was a dumping ground given how she had wound up here, but she could respect that it was a haven for him at least. “So what you’re saying is that everyone here is a monster in some shape or form?” She asked, before she realized how that sounded and quickly added: “Or at least the potential to be?” Yes, that sounded less offensive and more reasonable. “Do they actually offer classes on this shit or is it just a lot of talking to people who think they know best how to help because they went to school to counsel people?” She wasn’t counting Ezra among those that might think they knew best though, because he was actually living with this himself so clearly he wasn’t coming from a purely theoretical stand point.
