Kelly had been mostly joking with the babysitting but if Daisy was open to the idea then it didn’t seem such a bad thing to give Lucas a little extra responsibility, by next summer he would be older too and probably appreciative of a little extra pocket money. Kelly didn’t think his kid was irresponsible at all, pretty damn mature for his age really but it wouldn’t hurt to wait if only so they did know what powers the baby being looked after had. “Yeah, he is a good kid, bit hyper but reliable.” Kelly said with a smile, he got his homework done on time and never trashed the house so Kelly couldn’t complain.
Kelly had no idea you can buy chewable drumsticks, wouldn’t they kill the sound somewhat? He supposed there was a market for it somewhere if Bram had them unless it was just something specially made for a drum obsessed werewolf. Chuckling a little Kelly ran a hand through his hair and shifted on the bench a bit more, now he thought a bit more it was no different to a teething ring really, was it? Just in stick form. “Think boxes are a hit with everyone.” he said with a grin, “Can’t say chewing for myself, pretty sure me mum told be off for putting anything not food in my mouth.” Not that Kelly remembered too much having much desire to chew on things.
Waiting was never Kelly’s strong trait so he felt for Daisy and the not knowing what her kid had straight away, it sounded like she was coping with it but he guessed it might still be a little frustrating and worrying, it would be for him but as said he was a bit impatient. She might know the kind of things to expect but that didn’t help you prepare. “It will be.” he said going for the positives in not knowing rather than the issues it might or not cause. “You can do a powers reveal like people do a gender one.” he added with a chuckle.
As for what he had been doing himself Kelly couldn’t come up with anything as exciting as having a multi magical baby arrive. “Working, fixing up the flat, taking the kid to various clubs every other weekend I get him. Nothin’ exciting really. Got few side jobs lined up at Carpe with mates though so, should be fun.” Kelly didn’t think he would trade it though, he enjoyed his work and his family.

Honestly, come summertime again, Daisy figured it wouldn’t hurt to have someone babysit from time to time. It would give the adults some time to catch a movie or just laze at the beach for a little while, and if it’d help Kelly’s kid out by giving him some pocket money, it seemed like a win-win. Especially if the man was going to build them a climbing post at home too, helping him out and getting some chill time themselves at the same time seemed like it might just be worth it for all of them. And if Jackson was too much? Well, at least they’d tried. “Well, they might just tire each other out if he’s a bit hyper,” she said, chuckling slightly. “So far he’s a little angel, but he’s still too little to really do anything, even shift.” Daisy had no doubt that it’d be a little less quiet when powers started manifesting for real, beyond just smells, but so far he was a little angel.
Normally, Daisy would’ve just gotten Jackson a regular teething ring, but since Bram was obsessed with drumming and he’d found chewable drumsticks, well, that just seemed like a better option in this case. A good way to get Jackson accustomed to the sticks anyway. “He might not have a desire to chew on things, I just know that it feels good to chew on things in leopard form. Seems best to prepare for a kid that might enjoy that too.” Daisy hadn’t had a desire to chew on things whatsoever before she’d been turned, but afterwards it had been hard to avoid it and she’d decided to just embrace.
Sure, it might be a way to find out just what sort of power Jackson had, but she figured she had insisted on knowing gender, so unless Lyss really wanted to find out ahead of time it seemed only fair to just wait and see. Besides, it was exciting. He smelled feline, that was what she was most worried about anyway. Daisy might not know when Lyss had started manifesting his powers the first time, she just knew that her magic hadn’t been an issue right away. Not that it was an issue anymore, but that was another matter. They’d be there no matter what happened with his powers. “That sounds like a good plan,” she agreed. A power repeat would be awesome if Jackson could actually show off.
Kelly’s days sounded like routine and playing at Carpe. Routine had been something she’d been bored of for ages, but right now she kind of missed having a routine. She figured she would get back into a routine again with some things soon enough. “Playing at Carpe sounds like fun.”

Kids were always angels when they were small and not able to do a whole lot, in his own experience the issues started as soon as they can crawl and seemingly get from one side of the house where you place them to the other in a matter of seconds. Having a tiny flat it wasn’t too much of a worry for Kelly, though he was still impressed by his kids speed.
Everyone had things they enjoyed, if leopard-Daisy liked to chew boxes Kelly wouldn’t judge her for it. She would know what was best for her own cat and her baby too so the best he felt he could do was just help her do it all in the safest way possible. How he baby-proofed cat-climbing frames and such, he wasn’t totally sure but guessed just making sure there were no pointed parts would be a start along with any chewing points being splinter free. “Should build that feature into the climbing post, hu?” Kelly asked with a smile. Maybe just some heavy duty rope wrapped around a branch would do for chewing? And scratching.
Kelly hadn’t been too serious about the powers reveal party but if Daisy was up for doing one then he wouldn’t mind attending, he knew he didn’t really know the woman as well as so some here but he was starting to feel invested in this kid what with making things and potentially having his own child babysit in the near future, that and he was a somewhat nosy sort so was curious to find out what this baby inherited from his gifted parents. “Wonder if they do cards for that?” he mused with a chuckle.
Nodding, Kelly agreed that Carpe was fun. “Yeah, gives me a chance to do something fun and earn a little more. Hoping to move soon, so any extra helps.” Bram he found was always a little awkward to deal with but that was mainly as he never really got to see the man himself, Kelly hoped that might change if he got to know Daisy better.

It was a little bit scary to imagine what Jackson would be like when he started moving about a little more. He’d probably be a little more of handful than most babies. Especially if he started using Lyss’s powers. Thankfully, his dad would be able to keep up with him so if he started using those powers Lyss was in charge of babysitting for a while. She couldn’t deal with super fast baby.
“Probably good with something that can handle chewing and scratching,” she agreed. “Save the trees some and hopefully more staff if the more feral cats just want to scratch or bite something.” Daisy wasn’t worried about herself getting the urge to bite someone, unless she was in danger, because her cat really was more of a playful kitten than anything else. Which was nice. Sure, she’d been a little bitey when she was pregnant or where Jackson was involved, but that wasn’t unusual. She was just overprotective.
A powers reveal might have to wait until Jackson was older, but it seemed like something that would be fun for him to get to do. Show off what he could do and all so friends and family could see for themselves. “Might tell people beforehand when he starts manifesting, but a party like that seems like the sort of thing he might enjoy when he’s old enough to show off himself. Let him be the star of his own show, you know?” It didn’t seem fair to make the party when he was too young to remember when she figured it might be much more fun for him to show off his powers.
“Bram’s good like that,” she said, smiling at him. He was the best really. “He was a good help when I first had to learn how not to lose myself in the leopard. He’s a good friend. If you just wanna go to Carpe just to enjoy the place, you can always just use my booth. I’ll let him know it’s ok.” Daisy didn’t mind sharing it with friends and as long as she was OK with it, surely Bram would be too.
