The doctor was getting back to his job and Fabian’s wolf relaxed as much as possible in the given situation, neither man nor beast was completely happy right now but there was not a lot he could do. Luna needed these tests and to be blunt, Lottie just had to find a way to cope with it happening. But Fabian thought the doctor could be a little nicer about how he approached things, for sure how he was working now was not helping Lottie keep calm and if the doctor’s aim was for him keep the she-wolf controlled, then Fabian felt the doctor himself should put some effort into making it possible. The outcome otherwise wouldn’t necessarily be ribs getting chewed but it wouldn’t be pretty either.
When she came to sit with him Fabian soon felt a finger linking with his own but he didn’t move to pull away though it was his first instinct. Looking down to Lottie and then back to the cot, Fabian thought a moment but then shook his head a little. “We shouldn’t hurry the test.” He didn’t want to prolong the baby being hungry, or Lottie having to sit here but rushing things just often caused mistakes in his experience and as much as Lottie must hate this happening he was sure she hate things more if they needed to be repeated. “Can get you both food soon.” What did baby shifters eat, anyway? Fabian assumed it was milk, breast milk probably… Did Lottie know how to do that? He assumed she did with that too or the kid would be a lot hungrier after a week. It was a good sign at least that some things she was doing correctly, instinctively.

Most of the practical things that she knew how to do with Luna, like changing her nappy and feeding her, keeping her warm and being delicate, she'd learnt all that from Aaron. There were things she had read, things she knew she had to do, but doing things in theory and actually going throgh with them were completely different things. She was more than happy for the doctors to make sure that the little girl was healthy and well, but at the same time she was hating every single second of it. But she couldn't kick up too much of a fuss even if she had inched away from the wall to be kneeling more at Fabian's side rather than sat behind him. The woman was only lower on the floor so she wasn't in danger of just darting over to the doctor and the baby again without much warning.. Plus, it seemed less intrusive to take Fabian's hand when she was lower than him, it made her wolf feel more comfortable too.
"Thank you.." She answered to the thought of getting food, she hadn't had anything really warm in a while, lighting a fire hadn't been really doable considering they were trying to stay hidden so hot food would be a blessing. Luna on the other hand, well she'd feed her herself, she knew how to do that now, it made her feel useful. Boosted her instincts too. Though, she could and probably still would wander away from the child if she thought she was sleeping, bundle her in blankets without thought to SIDS or try and poke a chip into her little baby lips because they're super yummy so Luna should try them too.. She'd mean well, she really would, and considering Luna's abilities at least the child wouldn't die if she did choke on a chip, but that's a little beyond the point.
"Wasn't really going to gnaw on his ribs.." She added as an afterthought, she wasn't looking up at Fabian though, her gaze was still fixated on the nurse and doctor both doing their little tests on the youngest person in the room, "he looks like he'd be stringy anyway.." Which wasn't the real reason why she wouldn't eat him. Eating people is bad, at least now she doesn't need them anyway. Deer are tastier anyway. And burgers. And cake. And you can't really get into too much trouble for scoffing down on that.
"Aaron doesn't know I'm here." Lottie hadn't told him, she'd just left with Luna without telling him. She didn't want the kid to be raised in the woods like some social outcast.. "But he will find out and he'll probably come to find us. But least now we know that she's okay, she is right? She looks perfect." Or just Luna maybe, Lottie couldn't be too sure, but she was sure that they'd all be happier within Manson's walls rather than running from them constantly. That just sounded tiresome.
((Spoke to David and basically Aaron will get taken down and surpressed somehow before being placed in the securest part of the secure facility and sedated regularly to keep him from going mental xD No more heads being ripped off ))

Fabian made a small ‘hmm’ as Lottie thanked him. He didn’t think it was needed since it was only food he was offering and it wasn’t as if anyone here would allow the two to starve anyway, but the word was still appreciated even in that little sound he made. Fabian hoped Lottie knew he was really, really trying to find a good solution her and Luna, that Aaron would know it too and be cooperative rather than fight against everything that came his way. The father was going to be a whole lot harder to negotiate with, Fabian could just sense it. “I know.” Fabian added, Lottie might have killed and drank blood in the past but since her turning to a wolf she had been a lot calmer, if she ate anything fleshy then it was deer meat or chewing on some other farm animal bone like the other shifters. He would almost say she was tamed but that didn’t seem like the correct word to use and his own wolf hated it so would never use it on a fellow pack member. Wolves can’t be tamed they only gain control.
Then a small chuckle passed Fabian’s lips, it was almost as unnatural as the smile he had earlier and the growls he had escape him on seeing the doctors. The guard would blame stress if questioned as really, describing a co-worker as ‘too stringy to eat’ shouldn’t be funny, not unless you like dark humour, yet Fabian found it amusing.
Looking back to Lottie, Fabian frowned a little but he had somewhat guessed that Aaron was unaware she had wondered off or surely he would have stopped her or insisted on coming too, but probably would realise sooner rather than later. It seemed a good idea to prepare for that… “Yeah, perfect.” Fabian said in agreement, not that he knew the test results but he couldn’t think there would be any issues, with mom and dad’s genes, baby should be stronger than even some of the old, gifted vampires here.
“I will talk to Aaron.” he added as an after thought. Fabian knew he had to since he was the man’s assigned guard but it just felt like the correct thing to do too. Fabian didn’t believe in luck as such but he felt pretty lucky to have survived so far being assigned to someone who was known for killing previous guards so he was counting on that to continue once he started talking about the man’s daughter.

Food was always something that she'd be thankful for, it was admittedly something that made her happiest these days. Other than the little girl in the cot of course. Both the wolf and the woman would be grateful for their alpha getting them something else to scoff down, it's just another little assurance in her mind that he's the best alpha in the whole wide world. Because by feeding her and taking her back to a nice safe room then he's looking after her basic needs, good alpha, lovely puppy. If she were in the mood she'd be grinning and bouncing around him in a dance like motion. The situation was a little too serious though.
Lottie would not like to be told that she was tamed either, or rather, she wouldn't mind it but her wolf would scoff at the term and push her to do something a little stupid to prove otherwise. Like push the nurse over into a wall again. However, instead she just stayed where she was, finger linked with his and kept her eyes on the doctor's back, occassionally looking at the little bare feet kicking in the air or against the little plastic wall of the crib. The chuckle though, that made her break her concentrative gaze and she looked up to him in slight surprise, she'd made him laugh?
It seemed to fade though and then he was looking at her with a little frown on his face. She'd heard the laugh though, it was still enough to make her grin up at him and it wasn't because he'd agreed and called her daughter perfect either. Although that did help. He would have recieved a swift slap on the back of the leg if he'd denied her being such a thing but he hadn't, so he was fine. But then he went and said that he was going to speak to Aaron and she lost her smile, a worry instead coming over her.
"Don't let him get close enough to touch you," she warned earnestly, "he's super strong, puppy, he'll pull your head off like a cork out of a wine bottle, poof, whoosh.." Her free hand made a small explosion like motion but she wasn't smiling, she looked really quite worried instead, "I don't want you to die. I've warned him not to touch you, or big alpha but.. But he doesn't always listen to me." And the unspoken 'can't protect you from him' may have been obvious to somebody who can read into emotions and such, but with Fabian, perhaps he wouldn't pick up on that. Needless to say though she would be beyond pissed off if Aaron tried to hurt Fabian after she'd warned Aaron. She has a long standing history of not liking it when people don't listen to her, that isn't about to change now.
She wouldn't even entertain the idea of Fabian's head actually getting pulled off. That'd be pretty sad. For a little while. At least a month. Maybe more. Grief can't last that long, surely. Anyway..
The doctor drew away from the squirming infant and Lottie released Fabian's hand and got to her feet as she moved forward, eventually coming up beside Luna where she quickly wrapped the baby girl back up in the softest blanket and picked her back up to cradle her against her chest once more, making little shushing sounds all the while. The nurse was watching her warily but Lottie never noticed in the slightest, "want to go now. I don't need a check up, I'm fine, I'm okay. I'm a wolf, I don't get sick.." Lottie retreated, stepping half behind Fabian again, but slightly glaring at the doctor around his shoulder, "so let's go, puppy, please? I want my room." Someplace safe. Away from people looking at her, she was done with strangers for today. And her stomach was rumbling audibly.
Food.

Fabian didn’t think himself to be invisible but he did feel like he had some kind of luck when it came to dealing with the more dangerous residents, although he hadn’t escaped unscathed from all his encounters he had left with all limbs attached to his body and that was something to be thankful for when others were lucky to still have a beating heart. It meant he did not have any immediate worry when he offered to speak to Aaron on Lottie’s behalf, of course he knew there was still a danger but it was just something that was at the back of his mind rather than the front. Fabian still listened to Lottie’s warning though but tried to ignore the somewhat graphic gestures she used to illustrate her point. “I realise that.” Hell, he had seen the man in action but still, Fabian was banking on the same logic he had used with Lottie and that if either person had wanted him dead then they would have electrocuted or ripped him apart in the many chances they already had, which was also well before he had built any kind of respectful relationship.
If Lottie had warned Aaron too that was more reason to go into things with a little confidence, not arrogance but just the attitude that you won’t be pushed around. Fabian wasn’t enterally sure what the difference was but he knew the two things were not the same and he probably had to work out how to come across as one thing and not the other for it to work smoothly. It was something to talk to Zev about later, and maybe warn him too as Fabian guessed ‘Big Alpha’ meant Zevren… It actually got his wolf a little rilled up that it’s mate might be at threat even if it felt Zev could give Aaron a challenge, as Zev was just bigger, badder and tougher than everyone looking through the rose tinted glasses of a mate. “Don’t worry.” Was all Fabian would say, no point worrying over something that hadn’t happened and might not happen if he couldn’t track the guy down safely.
As the doctor finished Fabian stepped away from the door a little more and closer to Lottie but still left her some space to wrap Luna up again and take her into her arms. Ideally Lottie would get a check over but Fabian was unwilling to push the matter, it was more important that Luna was checked and he was sure if Lottie felt ill she would speak up so he just nodded to her request to leave. ““If you feel unwell, let someone know.” he said looking to her and then the medical staff before turning to walk out the room to lead Lottie and baby to what was to be their home for a little while.

Lottie wasn't aware that Fabian had seen Aaron in action, she certainly hadn't until she'd seen him pulling a head off of her guard in the woods before taking her off to help her with her baby. If he hadn't have been so nice to her then she would most likely have tried to escape from the man but he had been nothing but a absolute gentleman when it had come to her and if given time then perhaps she would develop a bond with him like she had done with others. He was far too bossy though, nice enough but she'd wanted to get back to her pack and the very few people she has in Manson that she'd call 'friends'. One of which would probably be much better off avoiding entirely but try telling her that and she'll tell you what she thinks of their opinion. But, she wasn't going to point out that Fabian doesn't fully realise.. Because he must have see the headless bodies of the other guards. He was the top guard. She felt weirdly proud of him for that, big boy puppy.
She'd pet his head if he wasn't so tall..
Fabian never lied to her. That was one of things she could rely on him for and so his 'don't worry' went straight to heart and she nodded briefly and let it go from her mind, if he said he could basically handle Aaron then she'd believe him. Besides, right now she was too busy cuddling her wrapped up newborn against her chest and sidling back up close behind him but she made sure to keep an eye on the medical professionals who were talking to each other, the male glancing over to her every now and then. It was making her feel a little anxious but then Fabian spoke again and she nodded, "I will, I promise, but I'm okay. I swear it, I'm okay.."
And she just followed when he lead her out of the room, hurrying along with both hands supporting the child but careful not to bump into him at the same time. It didn't take her long to realise that they weren't heading back to her old cell but she was more curious than anything else, the woman trusted her alpha and so when she entered the room that was to be hers with the teeny tiny little moses basket in the corner she stood for a moment looking mildly surprised. But there was her little wolf statuette was on the bedside table but there were four walls and not one of them was glass. There was even a window, with bars but that doesn't matter to her.. She had no arms right now, they were preoccupied but she turned to press her face and somewhat squidge Luna at the same time between her and Fabian in a happy little armless hug.
"Best puppy ever!" The exclamation was a happy one and she only lingered for a moment before going over to jump onto her new bed, sat cross legged and placed Luna down onto the duvet when she'd stopped bouncing slightly, "look, baby, this is our home, we'll go see daddy soon, but isn't it warm here?" And there was no wind. Smelt a little funny but she was sure that'd pass after she's been there for a little while, "can I have food now, puppy? Warm food would be nice, really nice.. Luna doesn't eat stuff yet, she has no teeth. So don't worry 'bout her, I can feed her up," she'd opened the blanket again to reveal the little baby in her new little nappy, and she gently tickled the childs tummy, "have to keep the chubby chubs all chubby, don't we? Yes we do."

If Lottie said she was ok then Fabian guessed he had to believe her, and she was probably one of the only residents he would take the word of without further questioning or thinking they might be hiding some truth. If she cared about her child then she would need to care about her own health too and making sure it was good enough to take care of her child. So he said nothing and just nodded, but all the same he planned to make sure he walked past her room every hour or so until his shift ended and he went home. Then he thought about asking another guard to look in, literally just look through and ask if all was ok, maybe Ulysses if he was around late as another wolf was likely a good idea more than a vampire or something. Otherwise one of the female guards, Fabian didn’t think Lottie was dangerous but he guessed she might trust her own species or just gender more when he wasn’t around.
Once at the room Fabian let Lottie in and just hoped she liked it, which he guessed she did as she was now squeezing up against him like an armless hug. “If you need something else just ask.” he said looking down to her, it might take a while for any request to be met but it should get done if it was reasonable. Then she was running and jumped on the bed, Fabian still rather lose the puppy nickname but Lottie was happy and so he wasn’t going to try and make her stop now. “Yeah. Will get catering to bring dinner up.” he said and put a hand to his radio to make the order, well, two orders since he was kind of hungry himself and he had time spare to sit and eat with Lottie should she want company.
