MASON CARTER
_______________________ The demon was beginning to grow really bored. He was stuck being good for while, since the head of security was being taken over and the worse possible guard to take over was Fabian. Mason truly hated this guy, but then again he hated everyone and wanted them to die already. There was one person he had a soft spot for and that was June, she was really cute in a sly kind of way. The demon couldn't love anyone expect for himself, and he would lie just to get his way with anyone trying it on with him. His deep dark brown eyes was focus on the things ahead of him. He was patrolling the same old area over and over again. Mason wanted to have some fun. But first needed to find a victim for him to play with his sick and cruel games.

Was it Monday already or Tuesday? Ray had no idea nor did he much care. Oh wait now Ray remembered, it was Sunday and Ray knew that because it was Friday when he was first brought in and that was nine days ago. And it wasn't just any other Sunday either. It was morning and it was freezing cold. Even his master's gift, a beautiful golden amulet with a bright, shiny ruby in the middle wasn't enough to keep him warm. The amulet was more than just beautiful. It contained magical properties of a surprisingly good kind. It basically keeps its wearer warm and protect them from the freezing cold elements. Unfortunately, the amulet wasn't powerful enough to keep Ray as warm as he'd like to be. That is not to say that the amulet itself was defective and weak. Indeed, it would work wonders on humans; on anyone really not particularly susceptible to the cold. But annoyingly as a fire demon, Ray was particularly susceptible to the cold. Just yet another 'perk' of being a fire demon.
So to compensate for this...weakness of his, Ray tended to wear long sleeves, pants and jackets in an effort to keep himself warm. He would set himself ablaze, but sadly unlike him his clothes weren't exactly fire proof and well he couldn't very well run around Manson naked, now could he? Today his outfit consisted of a long sleeved black shirt, black pants, a black hoodie, and his bright red scarf. Also to help maintain some body heat, Ray exercised and amazingly he still remembered those martial arts routines he did as a human.
He was busy performing some moves when a knock came at his door. "You may enter," Ray called. He rather figured it was a guard. Which one he had no idea since they seem to change everyday and he still has yet to meet this Robert guard everyone keeps talking about who supposedly was going to become his main guard. Ray's ears flickered as he overheard his door slowly creaking open. The little demon stopped what he was doing and slowly turned around and sure enough it was a guard there to take him for a walk out of this god foresaken room he supposed. As Ray studied his new guard, a smile crossed his lips. "So where are you taking me today?" Ray asked the tall, muscular guard. "Breakfast," the guard answered gruffly. Ray nodded. Well, it was morning, so breakfast in the designated cantina made sense. Ray still wasn't used to this new routine and life of his and he missed his master terribly. He wondered what he was doing right about now. He hoped he managed to get away from the mercs and is in the process of tracking him down. After all, he was always able to find him back whenever he attempted to escape, so surely he could find him here. Right? Right? "You ready to go now little demon?" he asked interrupting Ray's thoughts. Ray snapping out of it nodded. "Yeah, let's do it," Ray mumbled popping his neck.
Grabbing him, the guard escorted him out the door closing it behind them. The guard then proceeded to lead Ray down the hallway towards the lunchroom. As Ray walked he thought he was going to be good and behave himself. That was the original plan anyway. But sometimes plans have the funny habit of changing especially when a certain opportunity presents itself and as an opportunist, Ray wasn't about to ignore a good opportunity when he sees one. And boy did Ray ever see one in the form of a simple thermostat. Ray who was still really cold tried to switch the thermostat as they walked past. Sadly, the guard wasn't oblivious and just switched the thermostat back to where it was before Ray touched it. Ray didn't care and stubbornly switched it again turning it all the way to 100 degrees. The guard surprised Ray had the gall to mess with the thermostat right in front of him just narrowed his eyes at the little demon in disbelief. Crossing his arms he firmly asked, "and just what do you think you are doing...demon? Do you seriously think I am just going to stand here and let you mess around with the thermostat? One hundred degrees whether you realize it or not is much too hot for most of the residents and staff in here. You might like it, but nobody else will. Which is why we keep it at a normal and comfortable seventy-five degrees. Do you understand?"
Ray didn't and yet he did. But in his selfish mind he thought why should he freeze and suffer while everyone else gets to be comfortable? No. If he couldn't be comfortable then no one will and that was exactly how Ray's selfish mind saw it. In that moment, Ray saw this as the perfect opportunity for him to takeover the thermostat and get himself finally warmed up at least for a little while until someone stops him. But really now if he were to break free could anyone stop him? He considered himself pretty powerful for a lower demon anyway. He did have a lot of abilities, after all.
In that moment while his gruff guard waited patiently for an answer, Ray using the skills he learned from his human life, hit a pressure point in the guard's neck knocking him out instantly. Ray's attack was swift and full of finesse. Ray looked down at the guard's unconscious body. He checked him and found he was still breathing. Definitely still alive just unconscious. Ray knew he didn't hit him hard enough to kill him, so wasn't worried.
He then stood back up and returned his attention to the beautiful thermostat before him. Popping his fingers, Ray turned it all the way up to one hundred degrees Fahrenheit. Already Ray felt better. He knelt back down beside the guard and began to search his pockets for anything of use. He pulled out the guard's package of cigarettes, his security keycard, and a taser. He pocketed the newly acquired items.
Perhaps had he been paying better attention to his surroundings he would have realized he was no longer alone. After hearing loud footsteps coming from behind him, Ray fearing he was already caught slowly looked behind him just in time to see one hell of a mean looking guard. Ray's eyes only widened when he recognized the guard as Mason, an old 'friend' of Jerry's that he and Jerry would run into from time to time. Ray was more than a little shocked to find him of all people working here as a security guard. He just didn't see it. Ray recalled how mean and nasty the guy was. Plus, Ray was standing over an unconscious guard going through his stuff. This certainly did not look good for him.
Ray quickly stood to face Mason though in truth he had no idea what to say to him. Should he use his name? Or should he just pretend to not know him? Would Mason find that rude, Ray wondered. Then again maybe if he were lucky, Mason wouldn't even remember him. After all, he was just a slave. Would Mason even care enough to remember him after all those years? As Ray's mind buzzed with these thoughts, Ray tried to say something. Anything. So taking a deep breath, Ray said it. "Hey there Mason ole buddy! Ole pal of mine! It's been...years since I last saw you! How you been buddy? Funny seeing you here of all places. Definitely did not expect to run into you here and you're a...guard I see. Great! Congratulations on finding a career that...that suits you and I mean that in the best possible way. By the way I know what this looks like, but I swear I had to knock this guy out. It was getting way too cold in here and he wouldn't let me change the temperature, so you know kind of had to," Ray rambled as he took a few nervous steps back from Mason. The young fire demon tended to ramble on like that when nervous.
Already Ray regretted his poor choice of words. 'Buddy? Pal? Just what was I thinking? He's not my friend. Never was. Hell, I don't even know if he liked Jerry! Why oh why did I say that? That was so stupid!' Ray wanted to bang his head against the wall for saying something so dumb, but he knew it was too late to take it back. So he just hoped that Mason wouldn't get mad at him.

MASON
_______________________ Mason was focusing on other things which he was planning on doing. He been on planning on a few things to do since this place wasn’t much exciting he thought it would be. He would have got more enjoyment in hell working for satan than this place. The demon was extremely bored, and he wanted to create chaos. But he was stuck on doing that since Fabian was the boss now and that man was so annoying, and so was his husband. Bringing out a bottle he took some drugs which normally would kill a human being, but his demonic blood just absorbed it no issues.
Suddenly he heard a voice and looked, it was just some worthless demon. A slaved one in fact, he chuckled as they were disgusting to be known as demons. Mason believe he should be fed to the lions and just watch them rip him apart and then for the fun of it, he would fix him up and do it over and over again.
“One kind piece of advice before I rip your lungs out of your mouth. We AREN'T buddies. Your nothing, just worthless thing. You shouldn’t even be a demon. Your a weakling that can’t even fight against your slavery, which all lower level demons go through as a test. Your failing it” he chuckled as he glowed his eyes at him, which were bright red and the only time he show his demonic side. “This isn’t a career you idiot. I don’t care for the job, the residents here can kill everyone far as I am concerned. Do you want to be pitted against one of them for my own personal entertainment?” He asked and leaned closer. “Also suck up, the temperature isn’t that bad. God your such a weakling. Who wanted to enslave you I have no idea. I would have killed you centuries ago” he scoffed and headed back to his post which was boring.

Mason's cold response left Ray feeling more than a little miffed. Okay, so obviously he didn't remember him or Jerry; which suited him just fine. Not like he liked the guy or anything. In fact, he began to dislike this guy less and less with every passing moment. Ray stood there silently seething in anger with clenched teeth and fists as Mason continued to stand there insulting his relationship with Jerry. Ray wanted nothing more than to grab Mason by the neck and strangle him. He didn't want to simply shoot fireballs at the other demon from a distance. No, he wanted to get up and personal and slowly, painfully strangle him. Would that be so bad and wrong? Ray didn't think so. The guy was a jerk anyway who probably deserved a good, hard kick between the legs where the sun don't shine!
Desiring nothing more than to release all of his built in anger onto Mason, Ray took a deep breath before letting the other demon have it. "And why would I want to do something like that, hm? Unlike you, I enjoy my work. Well maybe not always, but I do like Jerry. He's more than just my master he's like my best friend! I love him far too much to simply abandon him like you suggest!" Ray boldly hissed at the other demon showing no fear only contempt and anger. He paused for effect before continuing. "I mean sure we don't always get along. We argue, fight; that sort of thing, but it's no big deal. Most couples go through that stuff. It's completely normal. But we've both been betrayed in the past by those we trusted and so we made a pact to never betray one another and that is precisely why I won't ever leave him and he won't leave me either. I'm much too loyal to simply abandon him in his time of need and I love him too much;" explained Ray in a calm, casual tone.
But then his own red eyes started to glow and his voice began to fluctuate sounding much more demonic in nature. Ray stared Mason straight in the eye his glowing red eyes meeting Mason's. "But that's just it, isn't it? Jerry's all mine and no one else's! Nobody else can have him and work for him but me!" exclaimed Ray laughing like a nut revealing his possessive obsession over Jerry.
In response to Mason declaring his hatred for his job as a guard for Manson Asylum, Ray ceased his crazy laughter and cleared his throat. His voice the returned to normal and his eyes stopped glowing. "If that is true then why do you remain here? If you hate this place so much and are unhappy with your job then why don't you just leave? Nobody and nothing is forcing you to stay here ya know. You can leave whenever you wish," inquired Ray, confused. Ray really didn't get it. If the guy really hated the place as much as he claimed then why doesn't he just quit and work elsewhere? As a staff member nobody and nothing was preventing him form simply walking out the door and leaving.
When asked if he would be interested in fighting another resident, Ray merely straightened up and very calmly looked at his claws. "Mmm...no thanks. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Besides, you really shouldn't underestimate me and my power. Honestly, if I were to fight someone I would likely defeat them in five minutes and while that does sound pretty cool at first. Believe me after awhile it'll get boring pretty fast! Sooooo to save on time, I vote we don't do that, okay? Thanks for the offer though," Ray over-confidently replied in a bored tone.
At Mason's accusation of him being a weakling, Ray's red eyes once again glowed and his voice returned to its more demonic tone. "I AM NOT WEAK AND HOW DARE YOU JUDGE ME! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME! I'M NOT THE WEAK ONE HERE DAMNIT! THE TEMPERATURE IS! THE ONLY REASON YOU'RE NOT FREEZING IS BECAUSE YOUR BODY HAD A LOT MORE TIME TO ADJUST! HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED UP HERE ANYWAY? NOT THAT IT MUCH MATTERS SINCE I JUST GOT HERE! I'M NOT USED TO THESE LOW TEMPERATURES YET, SO CUT ME SOME DAMN SLACK BEFORE I GET REALLY MAD AND BURN THIS WHOLE FUCKING PLACE TO THE GROUND WITH YOU IN IT! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT, MASON? YOU WANT ME TO BURN THIS PLACE TO THE fuvking GROUND? CAUSE I WILL! AT THIS POINT I DON'T NEED MUCH CONVINCING!" Losing his temper Ray just screamed at the guy.
Glancing up, Ray spotted a couple of CCTV cameras watching them. 'Not for long,' thought Ray with a smirk as he blasted them with a couple of well-aimed fire blasts. "No witnesses!" he exclaimed as he took out the cameras. Believing he had succeeded in knocking out all the cameras in the area, Ray let out a loud hiss, his long demonic tongue wriggled around in his mouth as he smashed a hole in the wall out of frustration.
As Mason returned to his rounds, Ray shot a warning fireball at his feet. "COME OVER HERE AND FIGHT ME YOU COWARD! THAT IS IF YOU'RE DEMON ENOUGH TO FACE ME!" Ray yelled from behind Mason. Ray's anger had blinded him causing him to momentarily forget that Mason was not one to mess with and that challenging him like this was not the brightest of ideas. But in this moment of time, Ray could care less about logic and only longed to make Mason hurt.
