One week. One whole week. An entire week has already gone by since the little fire demon had any semblance of freedom. Okay so technically speaking as a slave demon he wasn't exactly free to do everything he pleased and in a weird sort of way the asylum staff did 'save' him from becoming a prisoner of the Demon Council. He supposed he really should thank them for that at least. But then again when Ray had relayed what all had occurred following up to his capture, the staff did not fully believe him. They didn't believe his story about other demons being there; demons stronger than himself that had captured him and were using him to kill humans to eat and they certainly did not believe him when he informed them that had they not arrived he would have surely become a prisoner of the fearsome Demon Council. The Manson staff claimed that the evidence collected at the scene simply did not collaborate Ray's story of other demons being involved in the human couple's attack. What they did believe, however, was Ray's own point blank admission that he had killed the male human. When questioned about the female human's death, Ray swore that while she too was his target the other demons killed her before he could. Naturally, the staff that brought him in did not believe him and instead believe without a shadow of a doubt that Ray killed both humans.
When Ray was first brought in he was covered in human blood, the blood of his victims. They had to clean him up and give him clean clothes before they could so much as sign him in and interview him otherwise blood would have gotten all over the head counselor's office. Because of this, the Manson security staff unfortunately were able to locate a certain glowing jar full of human souls. Naturally they confiscated the contraband. The guards shared their find with the head counselor and they questioned the little demon about it. Ray answered them as best as he could while being as vague as possible. Best they didn't know the whole truth of how he and his master stole the human souls from their ill-tempered boss, Cymbolta who is the Demon Council's head and is easily the evilest demon Ray has ever met. Yeah, definitely best the Manson staff don't know everything that transpired. Instead, Ray simply told them they were the souls of some not so good humans that he and his master collected over the years and that his master entrusted the jar to him. Ray then tried to persuade them to return the jar to him for he didn't want to displease his master by losing the jar. Sadly, the head counselor refused to let Ray have it back, but he did at least promise to put the jar away for safe keeping for the head counselor knew better than to leave something as precious as that just laying around for just anyone to find. After all, many creatures would just love to get their hands or claws onto a jar full of human souls and the head counselor refused to let that happen. Ray was disappointed to say the very least. He hated to fail and he hated letting Jerry down. He silently vowed to one day escape and steal the jar back, so he can find Jerry and return to him.
But for now he had to sit through the initial interview; which went on for what felt like hours. Though in reality it was only an hour long. Afterwards, they questioned Ray about his obedience collar; which was more than a little embarrassing for Ray. And despite Ray's belief that only Jerry can remove his collar, the head counselor was able to find a staff member who apparently had the ability to remove such devices. Sadly, Ray was only free from having to wear a collar for a minute because the security staff equipped him immediately with a shock collar of their own. When asked why, the head counselor simply explained it away as a safety issue and that they were going to categorize him as a high risk level 5 patient. Apparently, they thought him crazy. Ray of course disagreed with them insisting he is sane and of sound mind pointing out that truly crazy people would never admit their crimes. Then they in turn pointed out the flaws in his logic and then went over his answers pointing out everything out Ray had said that didn't exactly come off as sane. The debate continued a few minutes more before Ray having ran out of things to say gave up. 'They say they removed Jerry's collar and replaced it with one of theirs for safety reasons, but maybe just maybe they are smart enough to realize that my master will be trying to summon me and without his collar he won't be able to and if he can't summon me then I won't be able to escape,' Ray thought to himself grumbling. The head counselor found him a willing guard to escort him around the premises and a counselor who had volunteered to take him on as a patient. They made an appointment for Ray to see him next week in the morning. Ray inquired to the species of both his main guard and counselor to which the staff were more vague than Ray would have liked simply stating that his guard was a teleporter and his counselor a healer. Just what were they hiding, Ray wondered.
The next few days just sort of dragged on. It was during this time that the normally talkative Ray went for the most part quiet only speaking when directly spoken to. Further, he was avoiding other people for the most part. It was his hope that he could possibly convince his assigned counselor that he is too sane to be a patient here. That was his first plan anyway. His second plan involved him memorizing the facility's map layout with the hopes of one day using said information to help him escape. Indeed, whenever let out of his room he would quietly study the rooms he was allowed into very carefully. He wondered if his antisocial behavior bugged the guards or not. Amazingly even though a week of him being there had already passed, the little demon still hadn't met his so-called assigned guard and whenever he did ask a staff member about Rob they simply told him that Rob was too preoccupied at the moment and that he would meet him soon enough. Ray wondered what they all meant by his guard being too preoccupied to meet him.
And then at long last after what felt like forever, the day finally came when Ray would finally get to meet his counselor, Castiel. Ray woke up early, so he could get himself ready to leave his boring room, so by the time his guard arrived Ray was ready. It was highly recommended that his guards wear fire proof clothing, fire proof gloves especially when handling him. Frankly, the demon didn't much care what they wore. Hell they could be naked for all he cared, so long as somebody got him out of his room every once and awhile for fresh air. Ray himself was fully dressed in long sleeves and was wearing a bright red scarf. Having such a surprisingly cooperative patient made the guard only too happy to escort Ray to the counselor and Ray didn't mind playing nice with the staff...for now at least. The guard escorted Ray down the many hallways opening up the doors using his guard security clearance whenever needed until they at last reached the counselor offices. The guard led Ray to a particular counselor office door with the named, Castiel Walsh written on the outside of the door. The guard then knocked on the door and patiently waited for the man inside to answer. "Mr. Walsh are you in there? I got your ten 'O Clock right here for ya. It's the new guy and something tells me you're really going to like this one," the guard called. Ray, meanwhile, waited in anticipation. As soon as the door opens, Ray would find out exactly what his counselor was.
