"Well.. At least I have a private room."
The blonde woman sat poised on the edge of the ward bed, it was bad enough that they hadn't offered her her old clothes, instead she sat in one of those awful gowns that draped unflatteringly over her body. Otherwise she looked perfectly collected as her sharp gaze took in the few details of the room. It needed colour, a bouquet of flowers would be just beautiful perched on that bedside table, intead it was drab and uninteresting. Even the sheets she sat on were starched white and so clinically cliche she rolled her eyes slightly and made a slight scoffing sound, "not much of a room though."
She'd already undergone her physical in one of the treatment rooms but after a flex of her abilities and a few honey laden words she'd had a doctor and nurse telling her everything she wanted to know, all of the promises she'd made them for such information hadn't come to fruition though, somebody had interrupted and put a swift end to her shenanigans. Tranquilisers gave her one hell of a headache, something they clearly didn't care about even after she'd told them rather eloquently and repeatedly over the last hour. She had, actually, lost her composure at one point and screamed bloody murder at the doorway.
That had been ten minutes ago. It was fine, she had calmed herself now. She'd regained her composure.
However, she had been told she'd be seen again soon. Possibly released to her actual room. Apparently she was to stay here in this place, for their help to rid her system of the residual drugs they'd found on her and to teach her right from wrong. Like a reform camp she assued. Lexi had been amused at the prospect, but it was something she could accept. At least this was no concentration camp. However. She had been told she'd be 'seen again soon' around an hour ago. The rudeness of their lack of explanation had probably fuelled that anger earlier too. Any minute now.. Just be patient. She kept having to remind herself, but somebody better come soon. Patience isn't a virtue she possesses.

The door opened, and in he walked.
"Hello, Lexi."
He wasn't wearing a doctors coat, but rather a blue plaid button up shirt and casual blue jeans with some sandals on. The shirt had the first few buttons undone, revealing the necklace around his throat that seemed to shimmer slightly in the light. His eyes were a very bright blue, glasses resting on his nose as he grabbed a chair that was sitting by the door and walked it over to her. He'd sit a few feet away, crossing his legs as he leaned back.
"I'm David. Your counselor."
He'd lean forward and offer her his hand. She was a succubus, from what he understood, and likely put off energies that tended to screw with the mind. It was the reason he was selected- at almost two thousand, David had the timeless advantage of encountering almost everything that lived under the sun. Along with that was his proclivity for mental warfare, David possessing an unknown capability for telepathy and mind scapes. If someone were to try and *force* desires on him, it would be very unsettling for them both.
"Welcome to Manson."

Dealing with a man was always a lot easier than facing another woman, Lexi was confident around males. Unless this one was was gay, in which case her particular aura and charms would be ineffective against such a man.. The blonde kept her back staight as he entered and her gaze was nothing but speculative. Until he introduced himself of course. Her expression fell and her eyes shifted from their light green to a deep brown as they usually did when she was annoyed, "counselor?" She repeated the word rhetorically, why on earth would she require such a thing? Unless he was some sort of rehab specialist, but even then she was quite certain she could kick her addictive little habit on her own without splaying her emotions out on a platter for him to lap at.
Not that she'd mind his tongue upon her skin, there was always room in her life for another pet.
He held his hand out to her and she placed her hand into his, clearly not expecting to shake it but to kiss it intead. Perhaps an act of reverence that she was all too used to outside of these walls, but such a thing will happen when the men in your life treat you like royalty. If he shook her hand instead then she'd be a little mollified but not particularly offended. These men don't know the rules to play by yet.
"As much as I appreciate the welcome, David, I hardly think your presence is necessary," her small smile held a somewhat sultry edge to it yet she didn't quite push the allure she naturally exuded when in a relaxed state. She was already in trouble for having caused a mild reaction in two others, to continue to try and cause more aggravation for the staff would simply be irresponsible, "unless you've come to escort me to my new quarters, I'm afraid I don't have much to say at all."
Aka, 'I don't need counselling, take me somewhere I can relax'.

He gave a little smile.
"I mean, that's what they require I tell you. I'd prefer you consider us friends, but for someone with your unique abilities perhaps that's too...colloquial a term."
He raised a brow, having shook her hand rather than kissed it.
"Shocking as this may sound, you're not the first person I've sat in with to tell me I'm not needed." He shrugged. "I'm sure you don't, but I do. You see...I'm quite familiar with succibi and the way they tend to live. It can be...lonely, from what I understand."
He glanced back at her.
"I can take you....after we've had our talk."

She arched a brow and pulled her hand from his before he'd finished shaking it, and sniffed quietly in indignation. There had been people willing to kill just to touch her in the past and here this man was acting as if it were nothing special to take her hand. But, his saving grace was by being somewhat amusing. Being her friend came with certain benefits she wasn't so sure that he'd appreciate. This one seemed more the alpha male type, not somebody to easily bend to her will. More's the pity.
He then went on to explain he'd met her kind before so she cast him a slightly chastisising stare, "then you know full well that you've insulted me already." By not appreciating her very presence. Perhaps that was simply more of a narcissistic quirk of her own, but how very dare he?
"No, David, I am not one of those pathetic succubi. I was never lonely. I told those men, those who brutally manhandled me into this place," that never happened, she'd been unconscious when brought to Manson but she had told somebody here, "there are people relying on me. Delicate little humans who were struggling on their own," she sounded nothing but genuine, but in reality those who worked for her meant little to her, her businesses on the other hand would most likely go under without her there to manage them all. That was her money, her little stamp on the world. And this place would be the reason why it all fell.
"If any harm comes to my women I'll hold all of you personally responsible. And those poor men," the boyfriends she strung along, "whatever will they think has become of me?"
She was the perfect picture of innocent worry. Vying for sympathy she didn't necessarily need, or even deserve.

"Mm, not my intent, but to be honest not all succubi seem to think they deserve special treatment. You'll find not many here will give it, without the....encouragement you gave those two earlier."
His small sound of acknowledgement and response was enough to tell her he wouldn't be kissing her hands, or feet, or acknowledging any of the normal fawning actions she was used to. Maybe she could find other toys to bend to that desire. He searched her eyes, giving the smallest of smiles at her minds reaction to his suggestion of friendship.
"This place has repeatedly warned me against saying so, but I'm not in the habit of decieving others. So, you should know- I'm a telepath. I can see your thoughts. If you ask me not to, I will of course refrain." He folded his arms, the small book in his hands (which seemed like a notebook) clutched against his chest. He also leaned back, thinking to himself for a moment. "I would assume your enterprise of prostitution was torn down when they took you. Seems the feds had been watching you for quite some time. Don't worry, though. I'll see about putting out feelers to check on the women. Make sure they're being taken care of."
"I find it interesting you not only find loneliness pathetic, but that you think those people you had enticed- willing or no- will be harmed without you. You see...the bitch of being a succubi is never knowing whether the people under your control would care for you at all without it."
He cocked a brow.
"Unless you're one of those demons who equates sexuality with genuine sentimentality?"

Encouragement? She would have sniffed imperiously but she was too busy just staring at him in what would appear to be mildly confused surprise. There wouldn't be many that would treat her like that? Then what sort of place was this? Lexi was too used to being treated like something special to even comprehend that she'd be treated like anything less than what she was accustomed too.
"It has nothing to do with believing I deserve it. I don't ask to be treated with deference. I just am." Because humans are so very easy to manipulate. Something she realises but doesn't fully comprehend to the extent of understanding she has taken free will away from a couple of inividuals. Though, she may argue that those she's forceably reduced to food were nothing but unworthy scumbags.
She doubted he'd understand.
A flare of pure enigmmatic energy began to seep from her form as he continued to speak and her back stiffened as she resisted the urge to slap the man around the face. First he tells her that her enterprise had most likely been dismantled, her people scattered, then he goes on to make her question whether or not those people she'd believed loved her like extended family would even look her way if she were normal. Human?
"I am not a demon," she spoke quietly, there was an edge of anger in the undertone of her voice but her composure remained intact, "those lowly creatures let their base desires control them, my control and will is unbreakable." That was another insult to add to the list, a list she'll be remembering. She can forgive, but she rarely ever forgets a slight.
"Read my thoughts if you wish, read my mind," she narrowed her eyes at the man in what could be taken as a challenge, "and you'll see that sexuality is what I am. For as long as there are men and women who crave the closeness and the passion of sex then there'll always be a place for somebody like me. Just like there'll always be people needing to speak to somebody like you."
"I am what I am David, I have no need for you. Other than to make sure those under my care do not return to their previous lives. If that happens then blood will spill." And it won't be hers. She'll be a hellcat willing to ride anybody down too and beneath the ground.

He sighed.
"Nobody is born inherently deferred to. Others treat them a certain way, and they are raised believing that is a constant truth to who they are." He continued after she spoke of sexuality. "Really? So, because you were raised and taught that, it becomes you? I was raised being turned into a weapon. Until I was almost a hundred. Now, Millenia later, you would argue because there are men and women who crave death and destruction, there will always be a place for someone like me?"
He shrugged.
"Again, you mistake my intent. I enjoy talking, and reading. Drinking. Spending time with my....patients, as they force me to call you. But I don't consider you one, or myself a counselor. Just someone who wants to be friends with those here who don't have any. Or who are made to think they need to cry and give a sop story every time they talk to me."
He'd clear his throat.
"To that point, I apologize if calling you a demon seemed insulting. Truth be told, I've come to know one or two recently that I've grown fond of. I'll step around that sort of phrasing in the future." He tilted his head at her last bit. "You have to know....there are people much less and much more dangerous than you here. While words don't phase me like that, there are security people here who would lock you in a hole for talking like that. Fair warning."

She choose to ignore the comment about being deferred too because she was quite sure that she did deserve to be treated as such. Most of her deeds she believed were for the good of other people as well as herself, so really, she wasn't being a selfish individual, she was bettering people's lives. She's a good person. Especially for her species. So what if she feeds off of multiple men (and women) it isn't as if they're unwilling. She hardly needs to push much of her ability to get people into her bed, humans are so easily led on. Especially the males. Women in her industry are a little more untrusting than the guys.
"I was taught how to feed to remain healthy, being made a weapon is entirely different. If you fed from carnage and death then we'd be on similar standing." She could survive on blood but she doesn't digest it the same as a vampire and it's not the initial thing her specific type of hunger craves. That was due to what she is, not because of what she'd been taught, "but, if you must know then yes. You will always have a place in this world as long as greed and war exist. And I'm quite sure they always will. Similarly, I'll always find somebody eager to fall into my obvious charms."
Her smile turned slightly smug at that thought, but only slightly, she seemed content enough. At least this man sounded intelligent enough to have a conversation with, regardless of how little she appreciated the topic. Lexi doesn't want any type of counselling, she doesn't want to question her life, she doesn't want to consider that perhaps she's been doing something 'wrong' all of these years. The blonde just wasn't interested.
Her shoulders relaxed slowly as he continued to speak. So this man wanted to consider himself a 'friend'? If he insisted then who was she to deny a potential ally or food source. He wasn't unpleasant to look at either.. She internally shook herself off of that train of thought and found herself oddly positive that there were weak enough people in this facility that they'd cry and mope to a counsellor. In her mind that made them weak, so she wouldn't be at the bottom of the food chain here. It was quite relieving actually, it wasn't like she knew many things about this place yet but he was letting her know a few things without her needing to ask.
"I never said that I'd be the one to spill blood," she spoke patronisingly, and it was a lie, she would be the one to hurt somebody but she had been smart enough not to specify that, "the girls I rescued, they would have no choice but to return to their old lives, their old pimps, you don't think they'd be treated like nothing more than sacks of meat? Beaten, bruised, used until broken. Those men don't give a fuck about their girls."

"Ah, so you are what you eat, then? Why not just....be a normal individual who sleeps around? You're quite beautiful, I'm sure finding men or women to have sex with, without needing to...inspire them would be easy." His brow twitched. "Interesting. Has no one ever taught you of life outside what others made you to be? Saying things like war and death is what i am, and sexuality is what you are....it puts you in such a tiny box....yet you claim to be happy in it? Never wanting anything more?"
He leaned in a little, ignoring the thoughts of him being pleasant to look at.
"If that were true....why help prostitutes? Why open up littles shops all over town? And why would you care about anything other than those who can contribute to that sexuality? By being sexuality, they are nothing but sacks of meat, right? If sexuality and sentimentality are different....and you only exist as one, why demonstrate the other?"
He tilted his head a little, cocking a brow. He was trying to help her see the irrationalities in her own logic. She could claim she only did those things as a cover for what she wanted but then....why threaten death and blood on those who disagreed. He waved her off. "You said i can read your mind- I know you're lying. But it matters little, I already said I'd see what i can do to help you and if you hurt others, or if someone else does it for you then that's just what happens."
He obviously wasn't flustered by threats.

She had no idea what he was trying to say to her. The way she worked just worked for her, she didn't feel lonely. There was a chance she didn't know what the thing David thinks she's missing is. As it stands right now though she thinks he's a little bit of an idiot, "I am just a normal individual. And doesn't the term 'sleeps around' seems ridiculous when there isn't really all that much sleep actually occuring? I have lovers, David, multiple. I need the energy much like a vampire needs blood," she hated the analogy, vampire's are, in her opinion a type of perversion of her own species, "without it I'll lose myself." And nobody wants a starving succubus around when she explodes. Or they would. It depends on whether they enjoy having meaningless sex with whoever is nearby.
Starvation was a real worry for her if they decided to put her under lock and key.
"They needed me," and therefore it was easy, "listen," she added quickly afterwards, annoyance now tinging her tone, "I don't have to answer any of these questions. What I was doing worked. For my customers, for my employee's," and most importantly for her but she knew that would probably not make the best of points to voice, even though he might be able to pick it out of her mind, "I've never wanted for anything, until now. All because I am stuck in this place, and why? Because I don't fit into human ideals?"
It was most likely because she killed people. They all deserved it in her opinion but that didn't detract from the whole 'dead' thing.
If she wasn't so irritated then she may would have fallen silent and refused to speak. But she was annoyed and he was still sat there without showing barely a reaction. And he waved her off, how dare he be so dismissive? "I have no idea what sort of sex you're having but everytime I take somebody to my bed I know exactly what they're giving me. I appreciate the living energy they provide me with and I make it bloody good for them. Or are you trying to tell me that because I embody sexuality I can't also be sentimental? I am capable of multitasking, David, I'm capable of caring for each person I take under my wing. I am not a monster."
"Now, take me. To my. Room."
She sounded pretty determined at this point. Possibly helped along by the persuasive energy she pushed into her voice out of simple reflex. When Lexi wants something she usually ends up getting it.

David let out a hum. He listened patiently while she tried to justify it all, before ordering him to take her back to her room. He felt pressure push in on his mind....and an easy smile came to his lips. One she'd probably mistake for a smile she'd seen on the face of everyone she'd enticed. His mouth opened, however, releasing a kind and patient-
"No."
She'd find any words she wanted to speak back dying in the air, like her head was suddenly soundproof. He opened the book he'd brought, pulling out pictures and setting them on the ground between them. They were men, and women, about eight of them total that he laid out. "You think you're above law. You think vampires, humans, demons- anything not you is beneath you, and as such they are subject to whatever punishment or desire fits your fancy. You force people, like you just tried to do me, to do your bidding all under a mixed guise of requirement and benevolence. These men and women you killed- they could have lived long lives in prison, suffering for the horrible things they've done to people, paying for their crimes. Instead, you saw your own form of justice as being above that of the animals lower on your personal food chain and thus....worthy of the permanent punishment you decided to give them. Part of you even believes you were kind, letting them die in the throes of passion all while serving a Queen."
He crossed his legs, leaning back again.
"You killed, and maimed. You stole, you broke minds and families. You saw it as helping, as the people who served you were placated and the women who served you weren't abused. Unfortunately for you, Lexi, you're not alone in the world. And other forms of consciousness and life do matter. More than you've been taught they do- as more than just tools for you. In this place, people work to change behavior that's taught them things just like you've been taught. That they are above everyone and everything else. For you, it's going to be rougher- because you don't seem to care about consequence, you don't recognize authority...and you clearly have no desire to change, because you think you're perfect."
He sighed, standing.
"You're going to have a hard time here, Lexi. Something you'll likely be grateful for is that I never require my friends to visit me- so if you'd like, we never have to speak again. But if things get rough for you, as I suspect they will, or if you just need a safe place for a while, feel free to stop by my office. My door will always be open."
He'd turn around and head over to the door, opening it as some guards came in. David waited with them as they'd move over to take her to her "room", as she wanted. But this time, David disrupted her abilities, making it so she couldn't influence the guards. Perhaps they had ways to fight against her....perhaps not. He wouldn't risk it.

For a moment she thought that perhaps she'd gotten through to him and he was about to give into what she wanted, so a smile curved to her lips. And like a slap to the face it disappeared as soon as the word 'no' was spoken. It could have appeared to have been quite comical if her eyes didn't betray just how confused she was by his rejection, it wasn't that she was hurt by it, she simply did not understand how he'd said 'no'.. But then, if he wasn't human perhaps he needed a little more of a persuasive push.
So she opened her mouth to speak again, looking back she wouldn't be able to remember what she wanted to say, the shock of not being able to voice her words overtook her mind. It blanked her mind. And then her gaze fell upon the pictures of men and women upon the table and his ridiculous spiel about suffering, paying for their crimes. She was only half listening. Most of her attention was upon those photos, a cold expression upon her face as she did so. These were men and women who had hurt those under her protection, those she'd watched die as her own soul sang with the richness of their life energy. Still, she hated them.
She despised these pictures and she suddenly despised this man for speaking of things that he knew nothing about. Or that she believed he knew nothing about anyway.
And how very dare he. She is perfect. She doesn't just believe it, she knows it.
"Convenient that there are no photos here of the damage they did to my ladies.. They werent people. They may have had consciousness and life, but they did not matter and they would have got away with what they did because my girls obviously 'asked for it' because of what they are."
She slammed her foot down onto the photos and kicked a few of them with a swipe of her leg. She didn't want to look at them and remember what they'd done. And then the woman was on her feet just as David turned his back to her. Lexi was under no impression that she was stronger than him, but she'd also never disbelieved her ability to be able to get her own way either. So when he began to walk to the door she used her own speed and agility to duck around in front of him only to push herself up onto her tiptoes, slide a hand around to the back of his neck and attempt to place her lips against his in what she hoped would be a much more direct way of pushing her unique persuasive energy into him.
He may be strong but she's not exactly weak either.
And she wanted a fucking apology for him treating her like less than the precious treasure she had always been treated as.
