Addie was armed.
The demon quite contently sat atop the unconscious guard with the prongs of his taser still imbedded into the soft flesh of his neck and she watched with utter fascination as the muscles of his throat stood out starkly. They strained against the voltage coursing through his flesh and she internally put a name to every muscle. The voltage ran out eventually though and the man beneath her relaxed against the ground in unconsciousness. She didn't need to feel for his pulse, she could see the pulsating vein in the side of his neck, a vein she pressed her finger against regardless and wished for a blade she probably never would be given ever again. She had the taser for now though, that and whatever this particular guard had on him.
The dark haired woman backtracked a little on her hands and knees so she could pat down his pockets and remove the tools from his belt. A radio, a pair of handcuffs and the jackpot find. A penknife and an autoinjector. She grinned wickedly and stuffed both things into her pockets but discarded the now useless taser onto the ground beside the man. Addie wouldn't kill him. She didn't want to be put into isolation and there were some on staff who would punish her but recognise the mercy she showed the man by leaving him unconscious but alive.
The rooftop didn't leave many places for her to go, the walls around the place were high and the netting over the top would prevent her from climbing up.. However she could go to the other side of the garden for now, away from this man. It wasn't as if she could open any of the electronic security doors that led back into the facility.
But at least she had what she wanted for the first time in a while; a little alone time.
So she stored her stuff and began wandering through the foliage to the other side of the garden where she intended to lay on her back and just enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasted.

Friday. Ray had officially been trapped in this hellhole of an insane asylum for two whole weeks and he hated every minute of it! They thought him high risk, so they gave him zero freedom forcing him to stay in his room most of the time until a guard felt bad enough for him to let him out for only a couple of hours a day. And worse than that the guards they gave him were inconsistent. Everyday it seemed, he got a new one, so he was having trouble getting to know any of them; which Ray found frustrating. And not only that, but his counselor was a real goody goody angel of all things! Made him all queasy just thinking about how nice the guy is. Almost had to puke. Almost.
And that wasn't even the worst of it. No, the worst of it was simply how cold the staff tends to keep the place. Seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit simply was not warm enough for the fire demon who got so used to the razing hot temperatures in Hell. Luckily he did have a little protection from the cold temperatures of the asylum in the form of a magical amulet, a gift from his master. The amulet was golden with a bright, shiny ruby in the middle. Sadly even this wasn't enough to keep him warm. The amulet was more than just beautiful. It contained magical properties of a surprisingly good kind. It basically keeps its wearer warm and protects them from the freezing cold elements. Unfortunately, the amulet wasn't powerful enough to keep Ray as warm as he'd like to be. That is not to say that the amulet itself was defective and weak. Indeed, it would work wonders on humans; on anyone really not particularly susceptible to the cold. But annoyingly as a fire demon, Ray was particularly susceptible to the cold. Just yet another 'perk' of being a fire demon.
So to compensate for this...weakness of his, Ray tended to wear long sleeves, pants and jackets in an effort to keep himself warm. He would set himself ablaze, but sadly unlike him his clothes weren't exactly fire proof and well he couldn't very well run around Manson naked, now could he? Today his outfit consisted of a long sleeved black shirt, black pants, a black hoodie, and his bright red scarf. Also to help maintain some body heat, Ray exercised and amazingly he still remembered those martial arts routines he did as a human.
He was busy performing some moves when a knock came at his door. "You may enter," Ray called. He rather figured it was a guard. Which one he had no idea since they seem to change everyday and he still has yet to meet this Robert guard everyone keeps talking about who supposedly was going to become his main guard. Ray's ears flickered as he overheard his door slowly creaking open. The little demon stopped what he was doing and slowly turned around and sure enough it was a guard there to take him for a walk out of this god foresaken room he supposed. As Ray studied his new guard, a smile crossed his lips. "So where are you taking me today?" Ray asked the tall, muscular guard. "Figured I'd take you up to the rooftop gardens for some fresh air," the guard answered gruffly. Ray just narrowed his eyes at his guard in total disbelief. Surely the guard had to be joking! What made him think that he was some sort of green thumbed plant loving geek? He didn't do plants and it was high time his guard for the day knew that. "Sorry, but I don't do plants," Ray informed his guard shortly, crossing his arms. The guard was less than amused with that revelation. He groaned. "Don't do this to me, Ray. Not now. I'm not in the mood," the guard warned Ray as he reached for the little demon. Still not wanting to go, Ray dodged and retreated to the back of the room making the guard just groan even more. "No way am I going to look at a bunch of stupid, useless plants! You couldn't pay me to look at them! That's how little I care about plants. Why can't you just take me outside to the grounds instead?" Ray complained from the back of the room. "Sorry, but you don't have permission to go out there right now. That's why I chose to take you to the rooftop gardens. It was the best I could do on such short notice. So will you come out of there please or do I need to give you a warning shock? You need your fresh air. Besides, looking at plants isn't going to kill you," the guard called with the hopes Ray would obey.
Ray considered the guard's threat and not wanting to be zapped, Ray reluctantly walked back to his guard. Ray had already been zapped more times than he could count and he had only been there for two weeks and it really didn't feel all that good. The guard smirked and grabbed him by the arm. "That's more like it," he sneered as he forcibly pulled him out the door closing it behind them. The guard then proceeded to lead Ray down the hallway towards the staircase that led to the rooftop gardens. Ray gave a grunt. He didn't like being treated like this, so he squirmed against his guard's tight grip a bit only for his collar to give him a warning shock. Ray yelled out in pain. The guard stopped walking and looked back at his charge. "Come on Ray, I thought you liked leaving your room and getting fresh air?" the guard asked, confused by the demon's sudden defiance. Agitated, Ray groaned. "I do. It's just what if someone sees me up there looking at plants? They might get the wrong idea. They might think I actually like plants and went soft, ya know. I got a rep to protect and I will not allow it to be muddled by plants!" revealed the truly prideful Ray. The guard couldn't help, but chuckle a bit at that. Ray's red eyes glowed. "It isn't funny!" "Easy there tough guy. Nobody needs to know you went up there. You don't even have to look at the plants if you are so against it. You can just go up there and relax a bit and then we can leave. How's that work for you?" the guard promised. Ray still didn't think he could trust him, but given his shock collar it wasn't like he had a whole lot of choice in the matter. Besides, it still beat being trapped in a room all day, so he'll play along...for now. Ray nodded. "Fine. I'll...cooperate. But I still don't like it." "Fine by me," the guard said, satisfied.
The guard continued up the long staircase with Ray. A few minutes later the duo finally reached the top where the garden was. Whistling an annoyingly happy tune, the guard using his keycard unlocked the door allowing himself and the demon inside. He shut and locked the door behind them. And what should be left right there for them out in the open, but an unconscious guard's body. Ray's guard concerned for the well-being of his colleague went to his aid. "Oh my god, Harry! Breathe! Come on breathe already, damn it!" the guard shouted as he tried to wake the other man up.
Ray, meanwhile, figured whoever was behind this had to still be in the area prompting him to leave his guard to investigate. Sure enough an all too familiar scent hit him like a pile of bricks. It smelled like another demon. Ray wondered who it could be. Curious, he followed the scent; which led him to the other side of the rooftop. There he saw what appeared to be a beautiful you girl laying down atop some dirt. Ray wasn't sure what to say to her, but certainly didn't want to startle her. "Having fun without your guard to tie you down, I see? Admiring the view?" he asked studying her. Ray gave off no shadow; a tale tell sign of having no soul.

Addie had found herself someplace comfortable to lay where nothing seemed to be poking her in the back. The dirt beneath her back was cool whilst the sun warmed her as it filtered through the branches of the tree above her head. There weren't many moments like this in her life anymore, silence, peace, they weren't things that were found often in hell or even in her life outside of these walls. There had been a time, when she'd first surfaced to the earth that she had took the moment to enjoy the world for what it was, the nature around her, the animals that roamed the wilderness, she had loved it all. The freedom was intoxicating. But then, after a while, she'd grown bored. Her demonic tendencies began to shine through and before she knew it she was elbow deep in human torso's again. Experimenting upon humans in their actual body's was a lot different from the torment and torture she put their souls through in hell, but she found that she loved it just the same.
The demon's lips quirked into a small smile at the distant sound of somebody finding the guard she'd felled and willing him into consciousness. Or to breathe.. Oops. Had she accidentally killed him? Perhaps his heart wasn't as resilient as she'd thought it would be, he had been alive but unresponsive when she'd left him, what happened to him in her absence has absolutely nothing to do with her. Some other supernatural may have come along and finished him off because she sure as hell hadn't. She shifted her weight a little, not much, only enough to slide an arm beneath her head to cushion her face from the dirt as she rolled onto her side. If somebody was going to approach to 'find' the guard's charge then she'd be aware of their approach. With force if absolutely necessary. She was allocated time outside. Just because she'd downed her guard did not mean that that time should be withdrawn.
Rules were rules.. But that doesn't mean she can't kick and scream everytime they try to enforce them.
Aadya doesn't share the heightened sense of smell that Ray had and so as he approached she stared at him with untrusting eyes. Her eyes are blue, the colour of the underside of icebergs yet they held a depth of fiery rage in the recesses. Anger and violence were both emotions that she fell back into on a regular basis, they were defensive things to use for retorts. Manson had yet to teach her how to truly lower those thick outer barriers and let herself fully relax. Then he spoke and she just stared at him unresponsively for a few moments before hefting herself up into a sitting position.
She ran her hand over the back of her head to ruffle free the leaves and dry dirt that had already worked it's way into the locks, "absolutely thrilled. Can't you tell by my girlish laughter and skippedy-fucking-doo attitude?" If her sarcasm was any drier it'd catch fire. There was no amusement quirk of her lips though, her natural response was to be a bitch, he could deal with that in his own way. Her gaze roamed over him, not in a sexual way, there was nothing but derision on her face, "I take it that's your guard squealing over his coworker? What'd you do to gain his company, shortstuff?"

Ray took a second long hard look at the mysterious woman laying on the dirt before him. She appeared to be sunbathing as she allowed the bright sun to hit her. She admittedly was very beautiful; which was more than enough reason for Ray to be wary of her. After all his ex girlfriend, Zelda Katz also had been a very beautiful woman of mystery, but then she turned on him the very moment she discovered he had been turned into a demon. Having come from a long line of powerful and infamous demon slayers Zelda had tried killing him on more than one occasion. Ray didn't understand why she turned on him like that since he wholeheartedly believed that she loved him as much as he had once loved her even as she very nearly stabbed him with a cross. Luckily, Jerry, Ray's master and sire arrived in the nick of time to save him. And thus began his ever lasting rivalry with Zelda and her demon slaying family. It also was what sparked Ray's connection with Jerry. After all, if Jerry truly didn't care he wouldn't have bothered saving Ray, right? That's how the fledgling fire demon saw it anyway. That was until Jerry claimed that he only saved him because he didn't want to lose his new favorite toy. Needless to say it took many years later before Ray started to trust Jerry again. Life was made even more annoying by the fact that he and Jerry are constantly being hunted by his crazy ex and every now and then she and her family would insist on a temporary alliance against common enemies. Ray didn't much like being forced to fight alongside someone who he once had romantic feelings for and is always trying to kill him, but unfortunately their common enemy always ended up being far worse than the slayers. So whenever the situation called for it the demon duo would swallow their pride and help their enemies against the greater evil. But they weren't foolish for just before their alliance was about to end the two would take off and disappear before the slayers could attack them; which annoyed Zelda to no end.
Back to the woman sunbathing in the dirt before him. Ray sensed she was definitely dangerous. He observed a shock collar wrapped around her neck not unlike the one the Manson staff forcibly made him wear. A true tell tell sign that she must have surely done something horrible enough that it warranted the staff collaring her. Ray figured she probably killed some poor unfortunate soul. That or was a terrorist prior to coming to Manson. But no she was a demon like him, so she likely killed a bunch of humans to be here collared with a guard. Further, he observed her smiling happily about something. Clearly she was happy about having knocked out her guard and getting some time alone; that's all Ray could come up with anyway. After all why else would she be smiling? His assumptions were confirmed after hearing her speak and not only that, but her voice was absolutely full of sarcasm. A smile then crossed his own face. 'Ah sarcasm, my old friend...'
His smile quickly faded away at her calling him, 'shortstuff.' He quirked an eyebrow in response as though to say, 'are you fucking serious right now?' A tired sigh left him as he casually glanced behind him. "Yeah, that'd be him. Not that you can really blame the poor guy! I mean, I'd be pretty upset too if some psycho bitch came along and knocked out a colleague of mine," Ray retorted casually with a shrug not at all caring what she thought of his remark. His red eyes then met her icy blue ones. "Oh and just so you know I am not short! Just everybody else is so damn tall! You ever think of that she demon? No, you haven't. Bet the thought never once crossed your mind. I'll have you know my height is perfectly normal! Mock my height again and I'll reduce you to a pile of ash! Got it?" Ray warned her with a hiss revealing his prideful nature.
A smirk then crossed his face. "You do realize you are going to get into so much trouble for knocking your guard out unconscious, right? They'll probably give you some serious solitary time for that one," Ray informed her in a teasing manner unaware that she did a little bit more than just knocking out her guard. That is until he overheard his guard freaking out screaming about his colleague being dead. He was apparently on his walkie talkie and was calling for help. Ray couldn't believe his ears. The she demon had slain her own guard. He stared at her in disbelief. Now because of her in just a few minutes this otherwise peaceful place will be overrun with guards. Was killing somebody for five measly minutes of peace really worth it to her? Ray had to know. He narrowed his eyes at her. "Why did you kill your guard? I hope it was worth it to you because in just a few minutes time this place is gonna be overrun with guards. Hope you're happy. Thanks to you neither of us is going to be getting any peace," Ray said clearly annoyed. He just wanted some fresh air and get some time out of his stuffy ole room. Was that too much to ask? Clearly the universe seemed to think so. Ray had the feeling that the staff will force him back into his room even though he didn't even do anything wrong.

The look on his face after she uttered the undesirable nickname simply made her bark out a cold little laugh that trailed off as she stretched her legs out in front of her and stretched forward to grab her feet in a languid little stretch. It wasn't for his benefit, she needed to pop her back and she did it with ease and let out a breath. Physically she didn't respond to his 'psycho bitch' comment, she'd heard worse. Neither did she care too much about his little rant on being short, though she did make a mental note that it was a sore spot for him as she sat herself back upright again. His threat left her with a smirk like smile at her lips and she looked up at him with a challenge flaring to life in her eyes, "then go right ahead. Burn me, melt my flesh from my bones," her smile widened into a more shark like baring of her teeth, "make me scream if you can, you pathetic waste of flesh, I bet somebody like you can do nothing but tickle me with whatever pitiful flame you manage to conjure up."
Her smile faded to a look of annoyance when he went on to mention that she was going to be getting into trouble over this. Well, that really went without saying, especially since it seemed like the guard she had downed had passed beyond this realm ad to the next. Shame. She would have liked to have taken his soul if she'd been aware the man had such a weak heart. What a pity, what a waste.
His narrowed eyes and annoyed tone did not sit well with her and Addie got to her feet. If she was going to get her point across then she needed to do it quickly before more guards did show up. The slender demon wasted no time in swiftly approaching the other, she stood at five foot seven so she did stand over Ray and if he hadn't moved she'd reach out to grab a handful of the hair at the back of his head, only so she could lean in and let her growled words have their full effect.
"No. That won't happen, I'll tell you what's going to happen, I'm going to twist your arm behind your back and you're going to turn this garden to the concrete it was planted over. Those guards that'll be coming will become the ash you threatened to turn me into, you'll make me happy, right, kid?" She tried for something that would have been a warmer smile if it wasn't the deep dark black that her eyes had bled into, gone was the human like blue that she adopted for when she's usually around the delicate little earthlings, but now she was irritated, she could drop the 'glamour', "show me what you can do, prove your use and maybe, just maybe, I won't dig my thumbs into your eye sockets and pop those pretty red orbs out to crush beneath my heel." She'd pat his cheek mockingly and laughed quitely as she heard another door in the garden slam open and footsteps running over the path, "quickly now, it's decision making time, tick tock."

The fire demon didn't quite get the response he wanted from his threat. Instead of hearing the familiar sound of screaming and begging for their life as he had grown so accustomed to, the mysterious she demon was laughing at him leaving the poor fire demon standing there wondering what he had done wrong. His bright red eyes just widened in disbelief and surprise. Normally whenever Ray threatened people they would scream and beg for mercy. People generally feared him. Clearly somethings changed but what? What did he do wrong? Mentally he checked himself. His threat sounded fine, the tone he used was intimidating, his stance was strong and heavy, and lastly his posture was fine. 'So what happened,' the demon wondered. 'What went wrong?' Then suddenly it donned on him like a ton of bricks. He wasn't the problem. He had done everything right to the letter. He hadn't become soft over the years after all. His threats were as terrifying as ever! It was this place and everyone inside it that was the real problem. Ever since he first came to Manson, Ray noticed that folks around here just weren't as fearful of him as the people outside Manson and that was simply because everybody inside Manson were either powerful supernatural beings or some sort of magical human. It was definitely a change that he would need to get used to and one he certainly did not like. The whole thing honestly made him feel a bit inadequate and uneasy.
And now he wasn't sure how to react to this she demon who obviously showed no fear of him whatsoever. If he wanted to continue trying to intimidate her he would need to change up his scare tactics. He could no longer treat her as a lowly human. The question now on his mind was how he should intimidate her? His senses even told him she was possibly even a higher leveled demon than himself and in case she was there just was no way he would ever purposely let her know that; which only further complicated things. The fire demon's mind raced. He knew she would likely try to use him if she ever found out he was a lower demon. Mentally he gulped. No he couldn't...wouldn't let it happen for anything. But what could he do to prevent it?
So in response to the dark haired woman's fearlessness, Ray did something rather unexpected. He smiled, but it wasn't a very nice smile. "Hm, sorry moment's passed," Ray retorted backing off. "Maybe some other time," he then added with a casual shrug of his shoulders as he backed away from her. "But hey, how about we just start over instead? The name's Raymond. Friends call me Ray or at least they would if I had any friends," introduced Ray. "So how about you love? What should I call you or should I just call you Queen of Sarcasm?" Ray asked her with a laugh.
After he had reprimanded the she demon for killing her guard, the fire demon watched as she stood herself back up and ran up to him. She then made a grab for him, but he was much too quick and was able to jump away just before she could grab any part of him. He then landed instinctively in his fighting stance as he prepared himself to fight her. He wasn't afraid. Okay, so maybe he was at least a little bit, but as far as he knew she wasn't a member of the Demon Council or any of their mercs, so really how bad could she really be? Then again he didn't know every single merc Cymbolta hired, so for all he knew she could be one of their mercs, but considering she was locked up in Manson with him and that the whole stealing human souls from Cymbolta was very recent; that was unlikely.
The she demon then had the gall to threaten him and while that did make him angry there was something about her threat that confused him. If he were to burn the plants like she wanted then how would that kill the guards? I mean they wouldn't just run headfirst into the flames. They would for sure see it. His pyrokinetic powers weren't exactly subtle. Before he could even question her logic and ask her why he should do such a thing she threatened to pull out his eyes and step on them; which didn't sound at all pleasant. He cringed and shivered at the very thought of her doing that to his eyes.
Taking yet another step back from the angry she demon he gulped. "Oh I see..." Ray thought out loud as his mind raced in how he should proceed. Her words echoed into his mind. On the one hand, he didn't much like the idea of selling out and giving in to all her demands. Oh sure it starts off as one favor from one demon to another, but then the one favor turns into two then three and then before you know it you find yourself practically becoming their minion and that's how the higher leveled demons get you. Ray had to remain diligent and not give in. No he wouldn't become her minion. He refused. He already had a master and unfortunately she wasn't him.
But then again on the other hand if he didn't comply then there was always the chance she will remove his eyes from their sockets and going blind for the rest of his days was a truly frightening thought. But on a more positive note complying would also give him the chance to show off his power to her then maybe just maybe she will respect and fear him. 'Yes,' thought Ray, 'she will fear my power once she sees it in action then maybe she'll think twice before threatening me again! I just gotta be smart and not let on she is scaring me and if I can accomplish that then I will win all around!' 'But then again this also goes against all my morals and better judgment. Oh damn it why does everything have to be so complicated? Oh fuck it I'm just going to burn these plants to the ground and get it over with!'
Ray let out a sigh as he finally made his mind up choosing the darker, more cowardly option. "Okay, fine. You win. I'll do it, but only because I wanted to burn these plants since the very moment I walked through those doors. And just so you know this is a one time deal. Don't you think for a minute that you can bully me into helping you everytime you get yourself into a sticky situation. Comprende?" Ray grumbled. He definitely hated losing. It made him feel weak.
Taking a deep breath the fire demon got himself in position and he got himself into a nice, strong stance. Glancing back at the she demon he smirked. "You might want to take a step back unless you really do want to get burned along with all the plants," he warned with a sneer still unaware that she was fire proof. And with that out of the way he shot a well aimed fire blast at the plant closest to him. He fired a couple more fire blasts all around them at the plants causing a chain reaction. Instantly all the plants burst into flames. The demon didn't think the guards would be in any danger since he still believed they would just put the flames out anyway. He knew they had hydrokinetic guards on staff, so surely with all that they would be able to extinguish the flames.
Already Ray was mentally preparing his defense. When asked why he caught everything on fire, the fire demon would just tell them the truth about how the she demon had threatened him. Surely they would understand and go easy on him with the she demon getting in the most trouble, right? Right? That was his hope anyway.
This was about when his poor guard noticed the greenhouse on fire and began panicking even more. He started yelling into his walkie talkie for his backup to hurry up and warning them of the fire. Able to put two and two together, the guard realized Ray had something to do with the fire though could not understand why since the fire demon had thus far proved well behaved for the most part.
Cautiously, the guard went as far as he could and when he could go no further he yelled at Ray to stop. Hearing his poor guard's desperate pleas for him to stop, the fire demon turned around. "Stand back Zeph! I don't want you getting hurt," Ray warned him. The guard just looked around, confused. "Raymond, why are you doing this? Can't you just stop right now and absorb the fire?" Ray shook his head. Not wanting the bloodthirsty she demon to hurt him, Ray yelled at him to leave. "Get out of here Zeph! This doesn't concern you!" The guard too stubborn to leave just firmly stood his ground. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what the hell is going on with you? Now I know you don't much care for plants, but you didn't have to destroy them. Some residents need plants to survive and without them they will die! Do you understand that!? Do you even care? Are you mad about something? Are you acting out? Did I say something that offended you?" the guard demanded, concern in his voice. Honestly his guard had brought up something he had never even considered before. Did destroying the plants here will doom some of his fellow residents? The fire demon glanced around. He hoped not. But again Ray just calmly shook his head. "Look Zeph I am telling you for your own good that you seriously need to leave right now. This place will soon be engulfed in flames and you are not immune to fire," Ray once again insisted fearing that the she demon will lose her patience at any moment and attack. The guard just shook his head. "Why are you saying all this? This isn't you! Is someone back there with you? Is it the one that killed my colleague? Were they the ones that told you to burn everything? Is that it Raymond?" the guard asked hitting the nail on the head.
Unsure if he should tell the truth or not he glanced over at the she demon and mouthed at her not to hurt the poor guy. "Want me to tell him about you or what?" he whispered to the she demon in a voice too low for the guard to hear. Even ask he asked this he had a feeling she was going to reveal herself to the guard anyway.

The moment's passed? She scowled at that and took it as nothing but a cowards way out of attacking. He didn't have the balls to do it and now she knew it, now she was quite sure that she wouldn't have to worry about this demon hurting her in any way. However, usually it's useful to have something pathetic nearby that can still be used, but if he wasn't going to end up starting a fire of any sort then she'd have no need to keep him breathing. He seemed suitable wary of her though as he took a couple of steps away from her and requested that they start again. What a poor fool, there are no second impressions for this woman, she makes her mind up about somebody and she sticks to that view unless somebody can change her mind, enough to put up with her bullshit and charming personality long enough to get under her skin.
So far, in her four years of being within Manson only two people have managed such a feat. Perhaps three if you include her counsellor, but even he she doesn't trust entirely.
"Never call me 'love', Raymond" she bit out, pet names were not her thing. Nicknames were not really her thing either. 'Addie' was fine, she chose that.. She supposed she could deal with June calling her 'little Jay' too but then she respects the homunculus. This boy she didn't respect at all. "I'm Aadya. But still treat me like royalty if you must, I'm not going to stop you." Really if she's treated with anything less than respect then she won't be particularly happy anyway and she has a feeling that this kid doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'respect'. So far she hasn't been impressed with him. His laugh made him wonder why he was laughing, really, it made her want to shove her fist down his throat. But she's been tackling her impulse control recently and she did no such thing.
He fell into a fighting stance but she didn't follow suit, just stood there glowering at him with impatience. She had wanted to grab him but she wasn't desperate to get her hands on him. If she knew where his mind was going at her 'request' then she would have corrected him immediately with a roll of her eyes. If he thought that she just wanted to burn the flowerbeds then he hadn't hung around chaotic enough demons in his lifetime. She didn't want subtle, she had hoped he would ignite and set fire to everything within the rooftop garden. She wanted a tidal wave of flame, not a puny little bonfire.
He could believe that it was a one time favour but if he pulled through and proved to be useful then she would be trying to make him do what she wanted again. But Addie isn't the type of person to make a plan in advance so if he wanted details then she wouldn't be able to give them to him. Nor would she if asked. She continued to stare as he smirked back at her and prepared to throw some flames, "stop show boating and just get on with it already before I start thinking you give a shit about hurting me." The wait was pissing her off, especially considering she could hear the voices of the guards in the background now. If she got caught before he did this then she'd make sure to leave some kind of mark upon him before they inevitably ended up tranquilising her and dragging her back to solitary.
She was about to prompt him again when the heat of the fire hit her and she took a moment to relish that temperature. Addie is one of the demons that has grown accustomed to the climate of earth, but she still misses the heat of hell and it was at times like these that she realised that. Her small little bubble of remembrance was popped at the sound of the loud mouthed demon chatting with his shouting guard and she glanced over, realising quickly that her lower body was engulfed in the flickering flames, something that felt like liquid warmth and nothing more. Thankfully it also hid her mostly from view as the two ust spoke together. She could have gagged and thrown up at the concern in the guard's voice, what an utter simpering idiot.
And then Ray was asking her a question and looking at her. She put a finger to her lips, her black eyes daring him to say anything and she crept around the flaming flower beds, crouching low enough that she managed to get up beside the guard, 'Zeph' had Ray called him? It didn't matter. With a well placed kick his knee popped out of joint and she used her own slight weight to help him fall like a log heavily into a burning flowerbed. That was when the screaming really started and Addie began to laugh even as the guard's hair caught alight and the acrid scent of it filled her nostrils. When she spoke it was filled with amusement and cold, malicious intent, but she spoke loud enough for Ray to hear her clearly, "after the hair, what's the next thing to burn?" She asked him. It was a rhetorical question of course, she knew the fats in his face would begin to melt, more than anything she just wanted to make sure Ray never messes with her by doing this, she hoped he'd realise not to fuck around with her. Or underestimate her.
The she demon pushed back down roughly against the guards lurching movements, the screaming didn't stop, if anything it grew more panicked and pained which just caused her to bark out another spout of laughter, "shall we make a bet?" She called out to Ray jovially, "will he pass out before or after his eyes explode in his skull? I vote before."
The demon wasn't really paying attention to the fact that her own clothing was burning right now either, but her skin remained unmarred.

The she demon called him by his full first name, Raymond; which surprised him a bit since most people just called him Ray since it was shorter and faster, but it didn't really bother him since it was his name and it wasn't as it they were friends or even properly acquainted. He had just met the lady after all and so far all she did was give off super scary vibes. But all Ray cared about was how she wasn't a member of the Demon Council, one of their mercs, nor was she Jerry. The she demon then formally introduced herself as Aadya and even went so far as to suggest he treat her like royalty. Ray rolled his eyes at that. "Yeah right. Keep dreaming," Ray muttered dryly under his breath.
At her scolding, he fake pouted. "Aw, you're no fun! And here I thought you wanted to have some fun with the guards and with my fire. My mistake," Ray mused revealing his awareness that she wanted the guards dead. He wasn't oblivious after all. He knew. He just didn't think they would all die nor did he believe Aadya invincible. Nobody no matter how powerful they seem are truly invincible. Everybody including Aadya has a weakness. The trick is finding it and exploiting it. The fire demon wondered what her weakness was.
After giving into her request to burn the place down, Ray spied a couple of CCTV cameras looking down at them and using a couple of carefully aimed fire blasts took them out first. "No witnesses!" he hissed, his red eyes glowing as he did so. After the cameras were all taken care of in quick succession, the fire demon's focus went to the plants. He shot fire in just about every direction. He was definitely showing off at this point, but the deed was done and the trap for the guards was set. There was no going back now. The entire greenhouse was ablaze. Now all they had to do was wait and like Aadya he heard the guards closing in, so he knew it wouldn't be long now.
Aadya was not the only one enjoying the heat of Ray's demon fire. Even though he had not been institutionalized for very long, Ray missed the pure intense heat and the fires of hell. He missed not having to rely on jackets and magical amulets to keep him warm. He took every bit of heat and used his demon fire to warm himself up whenever he could. Sadly such opportunities in Manson were rare. A small smile crossed the fire demon's face as he practically danced around the burning greenhouse. "Oh wow this feels so good! I hope it never ends!" a delusional Ray shouted in glee as he skipped merrily about setting even more objects ablaze as he went. Perhaps if he wasn't suddenly lost in his own little world, the fire demon would have noticed that Aadya wasn't burning.
Ray was suddenly forced out of his delusions at the presence of his guard begging, pleading with him to stop all of this and to tell him who and where the one responsible for the other guard's death was. Ray didn't want the poor guy to die. As annoying as he was the guard didn't deserve that. So the fire demon did his best to convince the guy to leave before it was too late, but the poor, sentimental fool was much too stubborn to heed Ray's warnings.
The she demon then made her move and attacked Zeph from behind. Ray was just about to yell out to him in warning when he met Aadya's threatening glare warning him not to open his big mouth. Besides, it might have been too late to warn him anyway for the she demon was fast. She had already knocked poor Zeph straight into a burning flowerbed, so yelling out any warnings at the point would have been utterly pointless. The poor guard immediately began screaming in pain and agony. The fire demon couldn't stand to watch, but he did anyway.
He strolled over to the burning flowerbed and peered down at the poor screaming guard. "I did try to warn you, but you wouldn't listen and now I'm afraid you have to die," Ray cruelly told him, his evil, demon side showing. The she demon then started to laugh like a nut and asked him which part of Zeph will burn next after his hair. Even though Ray realized it was a rhetorical question only, Ray figured it would either be the guard's brain or possibly even his face that would be the next thing to go. Ray just continued to watch in mild fascination and awe as the she demon continued to torture the poor guard laughing merrily as she went. She then asked Ray when he thought Zeph would fall unconscious. He too thought that the poor guard would pass out before his eyes bulge out. However, Ray didn't understand why she was even asking him. Really what was the point? The guard was a goner either way, so really who cares if he passes out before or after his eyes bulge out? He still gonna die.
In fact, with Ray's evil side starting to break through and show itself, Ray wanted to steal the kill from the she demon. After all, why should she get to have all the fun? Either way, he knew he was going to be punished for all of this, so he figured he might as well have some fun first. Ray just chuckled gleefully in reply to her bet. "Well I vote...neither. Sorry Aadya, but he's mine to kill not yours! You already killed your guard. It's my turn to have some fun!" With that Ray put up a powerful protective fire shield around him and the burning guard. He didn't think Aadya could get through it until he noticed that she wasn't burning. Her clothes sure were, but her body wasn't. Ray determined she was immune to fire; which explained a lot. How annoying! Still his fire shield worked a whole lot like other magical protective shields, just his happened to be made out of fire. Even so, he wasn't sure how long it would stand up against Aadya, so he worked fast. Placing both hands around his guard's neck, the fire demon began to strangle him. As he mercilessly strangled the guard, his demon claws were also cutting Zeph's throat. Zeph died seconds later. Only good thing about this was how quickly he died at Ray's hands as opposed had he been left to burn by Aayda.
Still underneath his protective fire shield, Ray turned to Aayda smiling. Some of his guard's blood had splattered onto him from his demon claws cutting Zeph's throat as he strangled him. "Okay he's dead. Now what?" Ray asked her no longer caring that he had just killed his own guard. He noticed the she demon's clothing was still burning. "You're losing your clothes," he informed her a matter of factly with a crazy look in his eye, "I can put out the fire from your clothes if you want." Truth be told he wasn't trying to be a creep with the offer though it probably sounded that way to her. Needless to say, the she demon was already proving to be a bad influence on the fire demon. Ray couldn't explain it. Just something about her caused his evil, demon side to come out.

This boy was driving her crazy, there was a thin line between confident and arrogant and his cockiness was not something that she was going to be warming up too any time soon. Sure he'd provided enough heat in this area to make her want to sprawl back out in the grass and bask in it's glory but he was also a smarmy little git and if she had a knife right now she'd be trying to drive it into his eye socket. Or his throat. It'd amuse her to watch his life flood from his neck as he tried to call for help through a shredded voicebox, the mental image alone made her lips quirk up into a small smile. But she'd let the annoying, stupid things he said go by ignored. She had better things on her mind right now anyway. Mostly on how to have as much fun and bloodshed before they take her down..
Aadya is a demon, she can't die. Well, she can, her body can be destroyed but she'll crawl right back out of hell again with a rebuilt body and a vengeance that will see whoever wronged her killed slowly and painfully. Or so she'd like anyway. More than likely she'd just be tranquilised and locked up until she begrudgingly agrees to behave again just so she can get a glimpse of the sky. And Conor. He's the real reason she hates being locked away, the demoness is starved of intimacy and she basks in that whenever she's around him, she can lower her defences and relax.. Right now she was tense and stressed, not to mention defensive as hell. Demons can't be trusted, she is one, she knows that better than anybody. It was no wonder why she was in an arsey mood.
This demon would go down easily if somebody struck her just right, she's hardy and used to pain but after so long in captivity she's weakened compared to what she used to be. Don't try and tell her that though, it would end up badly for both parties involved.
He stole her kill. He stole her kill. Addie was left on the outside of that damn shield and so she couldn't even do what came most naturally to her and steal his soul, capture it within her for power before it slipped away to places unknown. That caused her more rage than anything else before now, the darkness within her welled up and her eyes turned entirely black as she threw her shoulder against the shield and rebounded off of it harmlessly to land on the floor, "let me in!" She screamed, she wanted to wring his neck, she certainly wasn't thinking about her clothing, she wasn't at all thinking about the fact that there were other guards on their way to them right now, she wanted blood to spill by her hand, not his.
Was that smile and what he'd done supposed to make her happy? Was she supposed to be proud? No, she was furious, who the hell did he think he was? She glowered at him when he smiled and offered to put out her clothing, "take down that cowardly shield of yours first, how dare you, how dare you take that away from me. Do you only kill those that are already half killed by others? Find your own fucking kill. Find your own... Ugh!" She kicked out at the shield from where she was sat on her ass, wishing instead it was his groin she'd drove her heel into, "you're pathetic, pathetic!"
Good job in pissing off the demoness.. She wasn't going to calming down from this any time soon.
