Bram has spent most of his nighttime (so day for most) frantically flashing around his home, making sure everything that could even be remotely dangerous to a baby was put away, stored high or shoved into a corner. He wasn’t an untidy hybrid but he was very used to living on his own and so things often get left out or left until later to be cleaned or put away.
But it didn’t seem a good idea to have half eaten bloodbags and raw meat around laying around so a tidy up was needed, Bram wanted things to be perfect when he saw mini-Jackson properly for the first time and got to hold him. Daisy mentioned maybe wanting something else, Bram didn’t know what, she was going to explain when she got here.
After ten more minutes of what was likely unnecessary flailing around, Bram rested on his sofa and just waited for her to arrive, hoping Alpha might come too but if not just seeing the two would make him happy. He had Pint-size to show off himself, it seemed a good idea to get them into the idea the bunny was friend and not food.
Looking to the hutch he managed to find, Bram wondered over to it and crouched down looking in with a smile then back to his room. “Pants.” he said out loud and flashed inside to pull some on and then back out again. “Dressed for guests.” It was a new rule he was trying to get into for if and when he had to be around more of Daisy and Alpha’s friends or relatives, seemed a good idea to try it out now too even if he doubted Daisy would complain if he wasn’t fully dressed.
Reaching into the hutch he pulled out Pint-size and walked back to the sofa, flopping down while pulling a drumstick from behind his ear to chew on as he did, just planing to relax with bunny on his chest and maybe have a power nap until people arrived. Daisy had her own key, she could let herself in.

Daisy had wanted to go see Bram for a while now, but honestly, she’d had to get into the routine of having a newborn again first. Sure, she’d seen the hybrid and he’d seen the child, but she kinda wanted to let Bram hold the baby sooner rather than later too. She’d stuck a sowing needle to her pant leg, just so she’d remember to bring one to Bram’s and was quite excited to see this bunny she’d heard mention of as well.
While she had been very overprotective over her food and stomach while she’d been pregnant, Daisy found that she was still a little bit overprotective over Jackson, but not the point where she’d actually bite someone for wanting a closer look. It was easier to reign it in without all the pregnancy hormones in her system. Besides, the only people who she really expected to see the kid for a little while longer was friends and family, and she couldn’t very well bite them when she knew they just wanted to share the love.
Daisy took a cab to Bram’s, bringing Jackson in his car seat up to Bram’s door. She contemplated knocking, but since Bram was expecting her, she let herself in. “We’re here,” she said, as she entered, smiling brightly when she spotted the hybrid.

Bram was snoozing when he became aware of Daisy coming up to meet him, it was not enough to wake him just yet, his wolf and vampire senses were used to her smell so no danger alarm was going off in his head that told him to get up and investigate.
It was only hearing her arrive and Jacksons scent hit his nose that Bram opened his eyes and almost bolted from the sofa to meet her and the new baby, but then remembered he was still holding Pint-Size and so instead just calmly rolled to his side and to his feet, clutching the bunny in his arms. The little fluff ball had been good at keeping the hybrid calmer in general, since acquiring him (or her, he still hadn’t worked it out) the level of flashing and flailing around had dropped significantly, which was probably for the best. Tackling Daisy in a hug wasn't possible when she was pregnant and still not if she was carrying Jackson around.
“Daisy!” he almost barked out, face more grin than anything as his tone was still a bit hyper, and his eyes traveled down to Jackson’s carseat. “Swap?” he asked holding out Pint-Size. Bram had seen the baby before but now he was a little bigger, Bram wanted to get hands on too and let Daisy see his own addition to the family.

Daisy grinned slightly when she spotted the hybrid. Putting the car seat down gently at his question, she smiled slightly at him. “One thing first,” she said, gently wrapping him up in a hug and giving his cheek a gentle lick. It was a little weird to her still, but she figured with Bram it was ok. He seemed to like licking for greetings anyway. “Is that pint-sized?” She asked, having only heard about the bunny up until now.
“Let me just bring him to the couch so I can get him out of his seat first?” She suggested. She figured Bram might want to hold the baby without the car seat after all. And it wasn’t that she didn’t trust Bram, she just figured that first time properly holding a baby might feel less scary sitting down. At least that’s what she’d thought before she’d had Alice. They looked so fragile after all. And then there was the fact that she’d never actually held a bunny before and she was terrified he’d squirm right out of her grip.
Once she had put the car seat down and helped Jackson out of it, she smiled at Bram. “Just put the bunny on the couch?” she suggested and showed him how to hold the baby after handing him over so she could pick up the bunny. “So cute!” Daisy had been surprised when she’d learned that Bram had adopted a pet, but she was proud of him for doing so. And the bunny was just so soft she couldn't help but want to snuggle it for a while.

If he wasn’t holding Pint-Size, Bram would have thrown his arms around Daisy right back. Tackling her into hugs might not be possible right now but he couldn’t think why he can’t bear-hug her, and there was no big hard belly in the way anymore either. As it was he just smiled and enjoyed the lick to his cheek, twitching a little with excitement and gave her one right back, then focused to the reason why she was here, Jackson. “Yeah. Looks like Bram, right?!” he said with a grin when she mentioned Pint-Size, holding the black, spiky fur bunny up a little while gazing over Daisy and Alpha’s own pint-sized creation.
In the past he might have just grabbed for the baby, it wasn’t like he had the best patience or impulse control when it came to things he wanted or liked, and he saw it as sort of his baby too in roundabout way, part of his pack at least but he knew Daisy wouldn’t like him just grabbing and the bunny in his arms kept him calmer and from doing it.
When Daisy mention it, he looked to the couch he nodded and wondered over and sat down, waiting as calmly as he could for Daisy to get Jackson out of the carseat. He didn’t question why she wanted it done this way, the thought he might drop the baby hadn’t crossed his mind or that Daisy might worry he could do that, he kind of just thought she might be tired from climbing up the stairs so needed a rest. ‘Maybe Steve can carry her down.’ he thought a moment and then refocused to to his friend.
Putting Pint-Size down Bram looked how Daisy was holding Jackson and then did the same and suddenly he was grateful to be sitting, Bram still didn’t think he would drop the baby but having him in his arms somehow made him seem more alive and real, Bram wanted to be where there was a soft landing. Bram wasn’t too worried about his bunny or Daisy at this point, his eyes were wider and focused on Jackson. Leaning down he gave Jackson a sniff and then slightly stuck his tongue out to lick his forehead. “Taste like Daisy.” he said, almost sounding a tiny bit surprised but then grinned. This was nice.
“When are we leaving him in the woods?” Bram asked suddenly. He didn’t know why, but he had a strangely foggy, yet very real feeling memory just come to him as it being the thing to do with a new baby, that he might have had that done to himself. Sure he knew Jackson wasn’t a wolf but cats still had to learn how to find their way home too if they got separated from the group, earlier the better. “Teach him how to sniff his way home?” Bram added just to clarify he wasn’t talking about abandoning Jackson in the woods.

She smiled at the lick back and took a moment to just adore the bunny. Pint-Size really did look like Bram’s wolf. Similar coloring, spiky fur… It was a good match. “Got your spikes and everything,” she said, grinning at him. Honestly, Daisy trusted Bram to be able to hold the baby, she just wanted him to get a little used to it somewhere a little safer.
Bram was a natural though. And Jackson clearly recognized him somehow because he seemed right at ease too. “Must be the kitty,” she said, chuckling slightly. She figured that had to be why he tasted more like her than Lyss, because he was more like her. Then again, he was still nursing, so that might be why too. She didn’t really know, her tastebuds weren’t as attuned to people’s tastes as Bram’s were.
Daisy was a little surprised by the question, but this was Bram. He usually had a reason and once he gave it, she shook her head gently. If anyone else had asked, she would’ve been offended or punched them, but was clear he was lookin gat the question from an animal perspective. “We can’t leave him to find his way back like that,” she said, carefully reaching over to give his arm a gentle squeeze. “Maybe if we’d lived mostly as animals, but as it is he might get taken because I bet he’s an adorable cub, or hurt because leopards don’t belong in the wild here. Humans don’t typically leave their kids to find their way home.” Hopefully, he’d understand what she was saying.
“A fae told us their kind might come for him. He also said if we give him tiny amounts of vampire blood, he’ll be safe. So, I figured why find a vampire when we’ve got a perfectly good papa-wolf in Bram?” she said, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “That way, there’ll be a part of you in Jackson too.” It hadn’t seemed right to even think about finding a different vampire when Bram was part of the family, so hopefully he’d be willing to bleed a few drops every now and again.

Part of the reason Bram decided to keep Pint-Size was because of how similar the bunny’s fur was to his own, the other reason was that he just liked the ball of fluff and he couldn’t really explain why, by all wolf logic the thing should be a midnight snack for him. Deep down he did want his own mini-me but why that translated into adopting a rabbit would likely forever be a mystery. “I know! Awesome bunny!” Bram said with a toothy grin as Daisy pointed out the similarity. It made him wonder what Jackson would look like with hair, it was hard to know right now since he was still a squishy looking baby stage, bald and too young to shift. But from the lick Bram gave, he thought Jackson tastes like Daisy so at this moment Bram was thinking he might take more after her than Alpha.
Giving the baby another sniff Bram nodded as Daisy said what he tasted was the kitty, positive he was getting a whiff of cat from Jackson but Daisy might be right, it could just be the fact she was nursing and spending so much time with her baby, more that Alpha anyway. “Alpha in there too though.” Bram said after, not wanting the daddy to feel left out of things even if he was not here right now.
Bram wouldn’t have understood what was wrong with his question if Daisy took offence, for sure not to the point she was feeling a need to punch if it had been anyone else that asked, luckily she didn’t but all the same Bram was a bit confused when she started to say they couldn’t leave Jackson to find his own way home, fully ready to give her an explanation as to why it was actually a good idea. But Daisy came out first with a better one for why it was a bad one… Bram couldn’t help but feel a little dejected even if her logic made complete sense now he thought it over and he felt a bit dumb for even suggesting it. “Oh.” he said and glanced down to Jackson. “Makes sense. Guess he can use phones now too, hu? Satnav.” he said, joking mostly so the feeling didn’t last long and he smiled again at the baby. He knew he could still teach him drumming, that was one thing he could think of no reason Jackson can’t learn.
The smile faded a little when Daisy mentioned Fae though because why would Fae want Jackson? Was it the witchy-shifter-Alpha blood? Bram would admit that was a very awesome mixture but still, he found himself holding Jackson a tiny bit firmer. If all it took to stop them was for him to bleed a little Bram was more that willing and he smiled at the kiss and at hearing his new title used. “You want my blood?” Bram asked after, just to make sure he understood correctly.
“Can share that. Bram will also bite the Faes arms off if they come close. Drain them dry.” he said with a frown and slight snarl, fangs lowering for a moment. The vampire in him didn’t get to show itself much other than in flashing around madly and playing drums at super speed, it liked the idea of unleashing on some wannabe babynaping Fae.

Daisy nodded at his words. Pint-size really was perfect for Bram and Daisy couldn’t help but think that looking after something so small would help him with Jackson too. Plenty of practice and all. Even if a baby was different from a bunny, the principle of feeding them and not dropping them was the same. “I think he’s good for you,” she said, actually meaning it too. Bram seemed a little calmer with the bunny then he’d been beforehand.
“If he grows up to be half has handsome as Lyss, he’s gonna be trouble,” she said, smiling at Bram. She figured he’d probably taste and smell more like Lyss too when he was done nursing. It was easier to spend time with either of them during the day after that after all. Sure, she could always just pump or Lyss use formulae, but she kind of liked being close to him by actually nursing herself.
Had she known all of Bram’s reasoning for thinking it was a good idea to leave the baby in the woods, she would’ve understood better. As it was, she still didn’t think it was a dumb question. “How about once he can control his shifts, we leave him in the woods with you?” she suggested. “Just to watch over him I mean, while he finds his way home?” That seemed like a good compromise. “Nobody would dare nab him or hurt him if you were looking out for him. And out of the three of us, you’re the most in touch with your senses so you’d be the best person to help him with his sense of smell anyway.” If they were leaving a toddler in the woods with Bram, they weren’t really leaving the toddler alone, and Bram could have some bonding time with a mini-leopard all at the same time.
“Just a few drops at a time,” she confirmed. “Apparently, according to Lyss’s friend, if they sense vampire blood, they’ll stay away. Won’t know for sure Jackson isn’t some sort of magical vampire hybrid and can’t risk it.” It was a little unclear in her mind why they’d think that, but considering this guy had apparently come to Manson to help Lyss remember, she figured he was probably telling the truth.
Daisy smiled slightly as Bram got overprotective too. “Bram can bite, I’ll tear limbs off too. Or shoot. But if this fae is right, it won’t come to that if we give him a little Bram blood. Besides, who knows, maybe he’ll be flashing around like you if he grows up with vampire blood and Lyss’s powers.” Of course, she didn’t know for sure if he’d inherited Lyss’s powers, but it was both an awesome and a terrifying thought all at once. Offering Bram the needle, she smiled slightly at him. “Can use this, or your fangs, just prick your finger and let him suck on it a little,” she suggested. It seemed like the simplest way really.

Bram was hoping some details of this bunny care would find its was back to Manson, the hybrid was sure some there still questioned his ability to look after himself and others but maybe if they heard he was caring for a little abandoned fluff-ball, they might change their minds.
News he was looking after Jackson would also help but if anyone else should really know about it, Bram wasn’t sure, he would hate to have someone interfere and stop him. Quite a few at the reveal party knew he was the papa-wolf now so he somewhat assumed it maybe was not an issue, and a baby was easier to look after than bunny in his opinion anyway, they didn’t hop around so much so his skills were not being challenged just yet.
Older Jackson might be different and looking to him Bram chuckled as he tried to picture what he might look like. “Alpha is very handsome.” he mused with a grin, “But Daisy is very pretty too.” he said looking to her briefly and back to Jackson. If all that meant for future trouble, Bram didn’t see it as a bad thing. They were the parents, what was in them was going to be in their baby so at least they knew what might be coming.
Bram was a little disappointed his idea was turned down but he accepted what Daisy wanted, he would never go against her’s or Alpha’s wishes when it came to raising Jackson, he might be the papa-wolf but they were the alpha in this, he carries out what they want not any other way around. As long as he got to give drumming lessons as soon as Jackson could sit up and hold a stick, he really was content enough.
But Bram perked up a little more as Daisy offered they do his woods idea once Jackson can shift. “Oh, yeah! That would work.” Though following him himself he felt was not as ideal as leaving the kid on his own completely, Bram wasn’t going to argue with Daisy on details. “Bram has excellent sense of smell. Good direction, best direction. Can get home blindfolded!” Jackson would be totally safe, the hybrid was positive of that and he suddenly thought that being with Jackson might be nice anyway, if he was old enough to shift he would be old enough to talk too.
The whole Fae business was a bit confusing but Bram was not going to question that too much either. Keeping his family safe was his priority even if that meant bleeding himself a little for a while. “Can stay at your place a bit more too if it helps. Get it smelling vampy. Trick them even more.” Then between the three of them he was sure nobody that shouldn’t be would get anywhere near Jackson, who seemed to be pretty sedate right now, so Bram gave him another lick.
It was hard to picture him flashing around but Bram liked the idea, though he had no clue if his blood could pass on something like that.
Seeing the needle Bram shook his head and carefully brought a hand to his mouth. “Fangs is easier.” he said as his own lowered down, he could just judge pressure better so he didn’t end up bleeding all over the poor kid. Bitting down with one fang into his thumb he pinched out some blood then brought it closer to Jackson. “Om nom nom.”

Raising Jackson was going to be a handful, she had no doubt about that, but she also knew that she wasn’t alone this time and that made it all worth it. It didn’t matter what sort of powers he got or how handsome he became, they would all be there for him no matter what. And if something were to happen to any of them, Jackson would still have a support system and not be alone or end up in the system. No matter what happened, he would be loved and cared for and most importantly around people who understood him and what he was.
If Bram wanted to teach the kid to drum, Daisy didn’t see anything wrong with that. It seemed perfectly reasonable to her to give the kid a hobby and maybe it was a better one than her guns. “And Bram can scare off anyone going ‘oooh cute cub’” she said, gently bopping his cheek with her finger. “Even if Lyss and I both can shift, Jackson is more like you than us,” she said, smiling slightly at Bram. “Has to learn how to do be an animal from a young age, and there’s nobody I trust more than you to help with that.” There were parts of raising a child Bram couldn’t help with, like daytime activities, but it was important to her at least that he got to help with the shifter side of things. Teach Jackson to feel at ease in both skins from an early age.
Daisy wasn’t completely sure how she felt about fae wanting her child, aside from a burning rage whenever the thought of someone trying to take him away popped into her head, but hopefully this would all work out. “Maybe move grooming nights there for a while?” she suggested when he offered to stay at their place a bit more too. She wasn’t going to suggest Bram move in unless he offered to, but having him over for grooming was easier.
When he rejected the needle, she hooked it back into her pant leg. Hey, it was his decision how to do it. “He clearly knows you’re family,” she said, smiling at how at peace he seemed while he was just suckling at the thumb. “You’re good at this,” she said, smiling at him, before she took a moment to focus on petting pint-size for a moment.

Bram didn’t think he would need to scare anyone away from Jackson, if they were going to be going out together to practice tracking in the woods then it would have to be at night and who was likely to be around then? He gave a smile anyway and nodded because if that was what Daisy wanted he would of course do as asked. Though he wouldn’t blame anyone who got all cutesy over Jackson, he was pretty adorable.
It suddenly felt like a lot of responsibility and for a moment Bram looked a bit worried at the idea he would need to teach Jackson how to be an animal, mostly because the baby was a whole other species to him, but Bram was up to the challenge. ‘Can run a bar, can help raise a baby.’ he thought to himself, being sure some skills most overlap like needing to plan things and make sure to have enough things in stock. “Can do that too.” he said confidently, slightly more than he actually felt. “Hunting lessons and stuff, and how foxes are stupid?” he asked just to get a rough idea of the type of lessons Daisy wanted teaching.
He guessed they could combine it with a grooming night, if he was to stay over a bit more to spread his scent around and scare off the fae, why not make full use of the time? ‘Can groom Daisy then take Jackson out’ He knew the latter part would be in the future but the other bit he could do as soon as Daisy wanted him to start. “Ok. Will come to you next time. Groom Alpha too. He needs to smell Bramy as well.” It seemed a bit pointless otherwise.
Bram smiled as he felt Jackson sucking on his thumb, happy that the baby liked him. He knew he was a bit odd at times, he hate to think anything he did might scare Jackson. “I’m your papa-wolf.” he said with a grin, then suddenly remembered he had something for him, well Daisy and Alpha anyway.
“Oh! Got something for you.” he said and then looked to the carseat, carefully wriggling off the sofa with Jackson and putting him in the seat and then walking off to his room while licking his thumb to try and heal it back up.
Bram came back a few moments later and with one hand dropped a handful of cash on the little coffee table by the sofa and the other he gave a small beanie black wolf to Jackson. “Mini-Bram.” he said with a grin as he looked to Daisy. “Didn’t know what to do with the rest of the money so you and Alpha can have it and spend on whatever.” he said with a small shrug.
It was money he had thrown at him while dancing on one of the ladies nights organised by a staff member at the bar, he didn’t know what to use it for himself so decided to just use it on Jackson.

Daisy wasn’t expecting Bram to teach their kid to hunt and things like that, except maybe a few foxes since that’s what he enjoyed hunting, but tracking and scents in general? Well, she knew she had a lot to learn there and that Bram might be able to teach Jackson much better than they could. “Most important is recognizing scents, but if you want to teach him how to hunt foxes, I’m not going to stop you,” she said, smiling at him. “As long as he’s not alone in the woods, you can teach him whatever you think is important during those nights. We trust you.” Bram might think of something they hadn’t after all, seemed best to give him a little space to just be himself.
“Sounds like a plan,” she said, chuckling slightly. It seemed better to combine grooming night with spreading Bram’s scent around the house than have him come over on other days. Not because she didn’t want to have him around more, but because she didn’t want to keep him away from home too long. “If you come across a fae named Nate, or Nathaniel, don’t nom him though. Question him instead. He’s the one who warned us.” It seemed good that Bram knew that much at least. If he wanted more information, he seemed like the best person to ask.
Daisy figured Jackson probably recognized Bram from his scent as well as his voice. She’d heard babies could hear from inside the womb and Bram had been around the whole pregnancy, and she tried to make sure he had something around him that smelled of Bram too so he wouldn’t find it strange. So far, it seemed to work.
“Mini-Bram is much appreciated,” she said, grinning at him. “Just make sure to rub it against your face whenever you’re over so it smells of Bram-proper too.” Jackson seemed happy with it, and Daisy bet he’d look proper cute with it when it was suitable weather for a beanie. She didn’t quite know what to do with the money, but she hugged Bram. “Gonna buy him a pair drumsticks,” she said, thinking that was an appropriate thing to start with. “Soft ones though, so he’ll have something to chew on when he starts teething, without splinters.” Yes, that seemed like a good thing. Besides, it also seemed like a good way to make sure Bram knew drumming was ok to teach when he could sit up.
Placing pint-size down on the couch again, she placed her phone on the table before picking Jackson up. Putting on the beanie, she handed him back to Bram and picked up her phone. “Gotta have a picture for when he’s older,” she said, smiling at Bram.

Trust. Bram liked the sound of that, liked too that people were seeing him for how he always saw himself, which was capable and trustworthy. This was a lot of responsibility but the hybrid was positive he could live up to Daisy’s expectations, though he still planned to check with her about some lessons just on the chance it was not a typical thing for a more human raised shifter to learn. Bram thought it might be wise to check with Alpha too, as the dude was smart, he probably would know how to tell apart the wolf lessons from the normal ones, maybe why he even had the memory of doing it when he remembered nothing else of his early wolf years or how even became one. He just took it for granted and the academy staff word he was born as one. “Maybe just they are stupid to start with. He will be too young still to risk getting all fox-smelling.” Bram said after, he thought it was horrible enough when he got covered in their scent, he didn’t want that forced on Jackson.
Bram didn’t know how likely he was to come across anyone called Nate or Nathaniel, he didn’t go to Manson unless he had to and if this guy was a Fae, would he want to come to a bar that was a favourite with vampires, maybe of which were older and so more bitey than ones who maybe are used to blood bags and such? Bram nodded anyway in agreement, to the ‘no nomming’ bit more than the questioning part, since he had no idea what he would ask the guy anyway. It seemed the most important information was how to keep Jackson safe and they knew that. “Ok. But I don’t bite people unless they want me to, anyway.” Bram informed her, he had more restraint than that.
Looking to Jackson, Bram grinned, thinking the beanie was perfect the first moment he laid eyes on it. Jackson might never look like him but he could at least have something that made him resemble his papa-wolf. “Should smell like Bram for a little while already.” he said, he had been carrying it and keeping it in his room after all. The rest of the money it seemed better to just let Daisy and Alpha decided what Jackson needed, Bram would admit had no real clue to what babies need beyond food and stuff to stop the poop going everywhere.
Drumsticks would have been on his list somewhere down the line and he was surprised Daisy mentioned it so soon, pleasantly surprised though and it showed. “Oh, like mine?” Bram said as he pulled one out from behind his ear and bandana, twilling it then holding it out a little to show Daisy a moment then started to chew on it a little. Bram didn’t actually like his softer chewing stick as much as the normal sticks, for one thing he couldn’t properly drum with it and also he didn’t like chewing on it as much as the others, the texture wasn’t as good. Sure he knew it was better he did on the soft one but it was a hard habit to change.
Sitting back down Bram let out a small content sigh and then watched as Daisy stood up again, picking up Jackson and putting the wolfy beanie on him for a photo, Bram wanted Pint-Size in it too but guessed it was better to focus on holding Jackson, so he stuffed his stick behind his ear again and flashed a grin to Daisy and the phone. “With Pint-Size?” he asked, even if he/she was just in it on the sofa.

If her family hadn’t come over for Christmas, Daisy wasn’t so sure she would’ve trusted Bram to teach Jackson on his own when the kid got older. Not because she didn’t trust Bram, but because she wouldn’t have known how he was with kids. After seeing him with Alice though? Well, she knew he was good with them now so she had nothing to worry about. It was easy to trust that he’d be good with Jackson when he was old enough to learn these things because she had a feeling he’d be good at it. “Whatever you think is best,” she said, chuckling slightly. While she couldn’t understand Bram’s obsession with foxes, she couldn’t really see the harm in Jackson taking after Bram in that regard.
Daisy reached out and gently touched Bram’s cheek when he said he didn’t bite people unless they wanted him to. “I know,” she said, smiling at him. “I just figured since we were talking about biting fae that might come after Jackson, it was safer to clarify that he’s one of the good fae,” she added, still smiling at Bram. She didn’t think he was a monster and the one time he’d bitten her without her asking him to, she had since come to understand that that was her fault. She hadn’t really known at the time just how protective he was over his drumsticks, so she hadn’t really blamed him for it afterwards. Besides, they’d both been drunk and accidents happened.
“I tend to leave my shirt with him,” she admitted. “If I’ve been to see you, or Lyss’s shirt if he has, just so he’s surrounded by your scent too. So he’ll always know you’re there for him.” She couldn’t explain it, but it just seemed important to her that the baby knew what Bram smelled like too. He was surrounded by her or Lyss all day, so adding a little of Bram seemed only fair. Sure, they were an unusual family, but she really couldn’t have asked for a better one. “And now he’s got his own piece of clothing that’ll smell of you, so it’s perfect,” she added.
Drumsticks hadn’t really been a priority for her when it came to buying things for Jackson, but if Bram was giving them money to spend on the kid that seemed like a good place to start. “Exactly,” she chuckled when he showed her his drumstick like that before chewing on it. “When he’s old enough to drum, we can get him wooden ones to play with, but I imagine he might like to chew on stuff before that. Good way to get him familiar with them too, right?” It really seemed like a brilliant idea the more she thought about it. Kids needed a hobby and drumming would teach Jackson to multitask early on.
When Bram asked, Daisy moved Pint-size a little bit so the bunny came into the picture too and stepped back a little so she could get a proper picture of all three as well. “There we go,” she said, after she’d taken a few just to have options. Sending one to Lyss and Bram each, she put the phone down again. “Sent one to Lyss too,” she informed him, grinning slightly. “I think he’s about ready to fall asleep again,” she said. It was a little surprising that Bram would be such a calming influence on the baby. If she was being perfectly honest, she had been a little worried his hyper energy would make the baby fussy, but maybe surrounding him with Bram’s scent worked? Or maybe it was just that Bram was calmer than usual. Either way, she was pleased this was going to well. “You can still hold him if you’d like, he doesn’t seem to mind too much if he sleeps on people or in his crib or car seat.” She didn’t want him to think he had to put the baby down just because he seemed like he wanted to sleep.

Bram stuck his tongue out to the side giving Daisy’s hand a gentle lick when she touched his cheek, he found himself getting a lot of affection off her, it was reassurance he did not fully realise he needed as a small part of him had thought he might get lost amongst all the new baby chaos. No more sexy fun Alpha time, no more grooming Daisy… He felt a bit silly now really. But the smile stayed on his face and he nodded as she explain a little more that she just wanted to clarify Nate as one of the good Fae. It was true Bram did not always connect the dots so he didn’t take offence, if anything he just wanted to clarify himself the whole ‘not being a monster’ thing and so not biting unless asked, a phrase he hadn’t actually had to speak for some time. “Ok. Bram knows now. No nomming Nate.” he said with a nod and then chuckled at the rhyme.
Bram really wanted to be a big part of Jacksons life even if he was not related in blood, the baby was named after him, it only seemed right to make sure he did more than just lend his name and actually teach the kid a thing or two and buy him stuff he needed. The hat was just a start, as soon as he found out what the hell babies needed (he has a feeling what he thinks they need and what they actually need are very different things) he will go out and buy them. At this point more questions entered head, like if he should set up a nursery in Carpe? Do babies visit bars? Should he put up one of those ‘nobody cares if you feed your babies with your boobs’ signs on the walls for the mothers? Looking to Daisy he almost blurted them out but held back, one thing at a time…
“Bram smells good, he should have a lot of Bram smelling stuff.” He found the scent of Alpha and Daisy reassuring himself so in his mind, having all three of their scents around Jackson would mean the kid never has a bad dream or feels unhappy.
He felt sticks would just be the perfect bonus too, even if Jackson can’t use them or barely hold them yet. Though it wasn’t really a thought that passed through Bram’s head as being an issue, he did chew his sticks a lot and babies copy things, to have a soft pair that were designed to have teeth on them would be better for all concerned, no less for the fact Bram could barely stop himself doing it around Daisy’s human relatives, there was little hope for him not doing it and maybe passing on the habit to Jackson. “Best way to get familiar.” Bram said though his voice was slightly muffled by his own stick in his mouth. You can get different length sticks, different ends, different qualities, it all made a difference and felt different to chew too.
For the photo he didn’t want to be chewing on things seemed best to focus on Jackson too, so it went away and he flashed a smile to the camera then looked to Pint-Size thinking this would be the first group photo he had of the bunny too. “Awesome.” Bram said and then heard his phone tone with the arrival of the message, a little speck of neon green in his mindseye, he would have bolted to check it but with Jackson in his arms he stayed still. “Check later…” he said, more to himself than anything and then focused to the baby.
Jackson did look sleepy, Bram knew babies slept a lot because they were so tiny and everything is so much harder to do when you are tiny and living off nothing but milk. Which reminded him he was going to ask Daisy about that… “Want to hold him longer.” Bram said first, if that was an option, and he shifted back on the sofa more and leaned into the cushions.
“Do I need to make a nursery room in Carpe? Do other people bring babies to bars?” he asked curiously, not that Daisy was exactly bringing Jackson to the bar but rather his living space above the bar.... and he knew he never had any babies in the bar itself but he wondered if that was simply because he had no facilities for them. “Or put up those signs that let people know it’s ok to feed any of their babies with their boobs?” Bram didn’t really want Carpe becoming a family bar overrun with kids so sort of hoped he wouldn’t need to.
