ABOUT
Nell is originally from The Bronx, NYC. She grew up in a dysfunctional family, to put it lightly. Her twin sister was born ill and in an effort to cure her, Nell's father experimented on her. Instead of finding a cure, however, he infused her with powers that he's refused to explain since. Her mother was, at best, negligent. When her sister died, Nell came to Manson on her father's dime and she's been here ever since. Nearly eight years. Her abilities have rarely surfaced since then, and she questions whether they even exist. Well, until she gets a sick feeling in her stomach that there's something lurking beneath the surface of her skin.
They still run tests on her, trying to figure out exactly what was done to her. Nell exists in a fog most days. Sometimes she's extremely lucid, and other times she drifts into daydreams. She wants to find out what was done to her, to learn more, but she's lost contact with her father over the years. Mostly, she wants to know that she won't bring harm to anyone else. Her greatest fear is that she is a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode.
FRIENDS
She's a friendly soul, very earnest and caring. Charming in her naivete. While she does suffer from brain fog and a host of mental illnesses that prevent her from functioning at her best, she's dependable and loyal with an easy sense of humor. She's the kind of person that makes others feel at ease around her, like they're safe. Well-read, professional level swimmer, interested in horticulture, a skilled card player (her favorite game will always be go fish)- she's cultivated a wide assortment of hobbies to entertain herself over the years and anyone who humors them will become a fast friend of hers.
ENEMIES
The last thing she's interested in is making enemies. I'm sure she's made her fair share of rivals, broken some friendships, etc in her time here. But she likes to avoid confrontation if she can, because she's not the best at restraining her emotions when faced with aggression. Of course, I would love for this scenario to happen and potentially trigger her powers. It'll take a lot to get on her bad side, though. She doesn't enjoy cruelty or being cornered. She's not prone to anger, but pushed enough she might just snap. Other than that, she's probably found herself in quite a few toxic relationships, having been manipulated before realizing what's happening. I would be interested in anything here, honestly.
LOVERS
Nell's unfamiliar with romance, has never really kissed or even held hands with anyone. She only understands it as an idea that sounds nice on paper, but is not for her. She's too tangled up in her own to be worth anything to anyone else, she thinks, and hasn't sought out any relationships during her time in Manson. Should she find herself crushing, she doesn't know how to handle it. Flirting? What's that? Basically, she's due for something in this category, whether she likes it or not, and I'd love to explore this side of her character - good or bad.
OTHER
• Past and present guards would probably have an interesting dynamic with her. She's probably the most well-behaved level fours, though she has her moments.
• Past and present counselors, those who helped her and those who set her back. She deals with quite a few issues, including eating disorders, and she's very resistant to opening up.
• Someone who might know what's going on with her and the experiments, or pretend they know in order to lure her into some kind of deal.
• A friend who's been with her since she arrived.
• Anything at all!!
