Zev sat with his back to the trunk of a tree in the clearing the pack usually met in before they went off on a hunt or run. He'd let people know a few days in advance that they'd be meeting after he finally found a spare slot in his schedule in which he could do so. He hoped that Fabian would also be able to join them, but he's well aware that his husband's rota is subject to change a little more dramatically than his own. There were more emergencies in the security staff than there were in counselling.. However, he hoped Fabian could come, he and his wolf were always a little extra testy when their mate weren't around, his husband was a reassuring presence. A sane voice in the midst of something that could very often be a little stressful.
Still, he enjoyed these pack meetings. It helped the residents as well as himself burn off some steam, calmed the animal within and usually kept tempers lower than usual. It was good therapy and gave some the feeling of belonging. It was worth it.
The sky above the trees was darkening somewhat but true dark wouldn't fall for another couple of hours. He was counting on the later hour to bring out more of the prey animals from their daytime hidey holes. Tonight they were going to be filling their bellies. What they brought down depending wholly on how many people turned up for the meet. Zevren sniffed the air suddenly, nostrils flaring slightly as he scented the air. He wouldn't have to wait much longer, somebody was approaching from downwind, he might not be able to smell them, but he could certainly hear them.
He stretched out his legs and got to his feet. Born a shifter he wasn't usually too bothered about clothing, but he'd worn shorts for modesty's sake. Mostly for his husband's sake more than anything, some things were apparently for partner's only. He won't complain. He wouldn't want anybody staring at Fabian's ass either.

Cora didn't really know what to think about this whole pack thing, but it had been suggested that it might be beneficial for her to check it out and let herself get acquainted with other shifters by doing more than just the fitness class. Even if she wasn't a wolf, cat or dog, everyone seemed to encourage her to join at least once and see if she liked it. She figured if couldn't hurt at least. Besides, her counselor and her aunt both seemed to agree that it was a good idea to at least try this once.
She had been escorted outside so she wouldn't get lost. Since she'd never been to a meet before she didn't know where they were happening, even if she had probably crossed pack grounds on runs through the woods before. Cora was holding her arm as they approached the alpha, feeling a little out of place, but figuring that was probably normal since this was her first time and all.
When her guard said the man's name though, she felt much more at ease. She knew that name! This guy was helping her aunt teach flying lessons. "Hi," she said, smiling a little at the man. "I'm Cora," she said, offering the man her hand. "I've never been to a pack anything anywhere before," she admitted. Yes, that seemed like important information to share.

K I B A Kiba didn’t know how he done but he managed it. He was back outside and able to roam around. He even had enough energy to shift into his wolf form. The one that he loved so much and would never lose again. He walked around the forest, feeling the soft leaf litter beneath his paws. It was a lovely feeling. He hasn't checked that what was said about the barrier’s being fixed yet. He found a perfect spot for now, a hole against the tree and curled into a ball and used his tail hits his nose and went to sleep more. Sleep was hard in that awful room, he couldn’t settled there and he expected the staff were now looking for him as he managed to trick himself out of the room. He doubts he could try it again though.
Something was in the forest his wolf can feel it. He slowly got up and remain hidden thanks of keeping his scent away from the wind direction. He lied down and watched there was a meeting. He remained away though, as he knew that he would be put back inside. Even though the wolf deep down wanted to be accepted, and hitching to go and greet the alpha, showing his respect. But for now Kiba remain hidden and simply watched.

After his initial meeting with Zevren, Cato had waited patiently for a pack meeting. The chance to mingle with people like himself was exciting. He didn't have a nervous bone in his body. In all his years, he'd never looked forward to anything. He had wanted for nothing, for he had had everything. But this, this was an experience of a lifetime. This was a chance to fully grasp that he was not alone. Maybe this meeting would help to cure some of the homesickness that he was currently suffering from. It wasn't hard to track Zevren's scent through the forest. If he couldn't remember anything else, he could always count on remembering a scent.
Cato arrived to see the head of counseling as well as a girl who smelled nothing life a shifter and nothing like a were. For a moment he found himself staring in confusion before he shook his head and brushed it off. It was probably best not to question why she was here. It was none of his business and he didn't want to make a bad first impression, even if it was just the three of them. He was itching to run through the forest with the others, even if he'd sniffed out more wolves than anything. Cato just wanted to be amongst potential friends. Zev had told him good things about the pack, so his expectations were high.
Deciding it was best not to be rude and interrupt what seemed to be the start of a conversation, Cato moved off to the side near a fallen tree and took a seat, drawing one knee up to his chest. He was dressed in his usual attire of dark blue basketball shorts and a black hoodie, but it didn't take him long to ditch the top. It seemed unnecessary since he saw the head of the pack without. Cato didn't dislike clothes, but he could do without. So long as they weren't skintight and constricting he was fine. Patiently he waited for others to arrive, doing his best not to look too excited. He had enough energy to want to bounce right out of his skin. It took all his willpower not to shift and start pacing in circles or just crawl up a tree. What a time to be alive.

The first to appear wasn't a wolf, not even the usual shifter either so he was thankful for the clothing he had loosely hanging around his hips. Because Cora was also one of their younger residents and he was quite sure that her aunt might object to naked strangers hanging around her niece, despite the fact that they're shifters. It's just common decency, apparently. The girl looked nervous and he smiled reassuringly as he took her small hand, but he never shook the thing. Instead he bent down to give it a light kiss, "you've got nothing to worry yourself about. We'll take good care of you, Cora. And hopefully have a lot of fun while we do." He released her hand and stood back up straight, but took a couple of casual steps back so he didn't tower over her. Zev tries not to be too intimidating when he doesn't need to be.
She was a hellhound if he remembers correctly, which is a canine of sorts. Zev can't say he's met many of them though, he hopes she doesn't end up starting a forest fire of some sort, especially if Fabian wasn't nearby. The other male's hydrokinesis would be handy when there was somebody like Cora around. But he could trust her enough to let her join them, he doesn't think the girl would willingly start up a fire.
Zev was aware there was another wolf nearby that had arrived, but he didn't know it was Kiba, nor was he going to sniffing the boy out because Cato had arrived. "Hey, glad you could make it," he welcomed him jovially enough, he was glad that the guy had found this place easily enough, "you're both able to shift easily, right?" He assumed so, Cato was a shifter and he'd seen Cora around the facility running in her hellhound form. That question was usually for the newer were's or shifter's who needed a little extra time or prompting to be able to change shape.

Cora really didn’t know what to make of all this, just that it was a new and interesting experience. One that might teach her more about her hellhound nature without giving in to the parts of it that might make her a monster. She was a little surprised when the man kissed her hand like that instead of shaking it like she’d expected, but she found that he was reassuring rather than scary and that was enough for her. Besides, it was a lot easier to just accept that people her aunt approved of were nice and relax around them than most others.
“I’m hoping it’ll be fun too,” she said, smiling at the man. She wasn’t overly used to relying on her senses just yet to figure out what people were, but she knew this guy was a wolf. She didn’t know what the one sitting against the tree was because it seemed somewhat strange to her to smell the air like that. The wolf lurking in the woods was entirely lost on her.
It clicked when Zev asked if they were both able to shift easily like that why it might be a good idea for her to try this out. Because of course the guy wouldn’t be here unless he could shift too. So clearly, learning to trust her senses would be a useful skill and hopefully one she could learn from these things. “No problem at all,” she said grinning slightly before effortlessly shifting and chasing her own tail for a moment before sitting down. She would bug the other guy later, if they were going to be in animal form, it seemed best to let those that probably needed to undress to shift get settled first before butting in too much.
Once she was all settled down, she was kind of glad she still had fur rather than the scales she’d seen on her mom’s form, at least she’d look a little more at home among the others. She would turn her back on both of them though so they could shift in peace without worrying about her seeing anything she shouldn’t be seeing.

Kiba stayed hidden and remaining down wind. He was just watching and observing the other creatures. He knew he wasn’t welcome so he didn’t bother making himself known. He kept on crouching as he watched the alpha greeting the other members. For a pack there wasn’t many people here. Kiba didn’t see Lottie the only wolf he trust around here. She was sweet and he loved her playful attitude. His bright green eyes watched more closely as he moved slowly and silently not wanting to give his position away. He kept very still when they were looking around. His handsome red pelt was masked into the grass, making him invisible. The wolf was waiting for the right time to come out, and possibly be accepted as it longed for company for too long now.

Cato couldn't help the rumbly purr that escaped him as he was greeted by Zev. "Hey, thanks for the invite." He then gave an almost eager nod when asked about their ability to shift. Cato sniffed the air. Someone else was out here, but they seemed a little ways off and he couldn't see anyone despite his night vision being decent. He was also sniffing to see if anyone else was showing up. He'd expected more people, preferably people that weren't children, but he couldn't complain. Maybe next time there would be more people. He pushed down his disappointment and stood to his feet. Cato waited for the hellhound to turn away before he finished undressing. He shifted with ease and stretched from nose to tail before he flexed his claws into the dirt and sat back on his haunches. His yellow eyes peered into the darkness, blinking once.
His gaze briefly stopped on the hellhound. She didn't look anything like any creature he'd ever seen. It was a strange sight. Cato licked a paw and casually drew it over his ear to distact himself from staring. After he'd throughouly cleaned his ear, he glanced in Zev's direction. He was ready to run. Somehow he'd kept himself firmly seated on the ground, but he was itching to feel the wind in his fur. He wanted to race across the forest until his heart felt as though it might explode from his chest. He wanted to climb up a tree and spot prey before stalking it. His tail tip twitched at the thought.

This wasn't the first time he'd seen Cora in her hellhound form, otherwise he might have stared a little more. She was certainly different but the man just smiled and waited for the two to shift. He had been hoping for a few more people to turn up, a couple of wolves would have been nice. Zev himself isn't too bothered about the other two being different species, but his own wolf wanted the pack here to hunt with. Cora and Cato were both new.. He had no trouble teaching them the ropes but he would have preferred there to have been enough of the pack members around to actually show them how they worked as a team. They made a good team when they worked together. However, it seemed it was just the three of them so far. Zev wasn't aware of Kiba loitering nearby. He didn't even give it a thought, the red wolf shifter should still be under watch, not roaming the forest alone when he was clearly a flight risk and on suicide watch.
If he did show himself to the pack he'd be sending him back to the buildings. Kiba didn't have the energy nor the stamina to run with the pack yet. Something he can't expect too either if he's been starving himself and generally being a brat, the kid needs to learn he doesn't get perks if he doesn't follow some simple rules. Everybody has to follow rules, nobody is above them.
"I hoped for a better turn out," he admitted in response to Cato's thanks, "Cora here, she's new to the pack too so considering the circumstances I can show you around the pack's territory? Hunt if either of you are up to it." Of course he doesn't know either of their strengths of weaknesses when it comes to that, Cato he'd imagine would be quite good with stealth, but Cora he couldn't be too sure about. It could be an interesting learning experience though, that's for sure. He didn't really need to shift for this either, but he wanted to stretch out on four limbs and run through the undergrowth just as much as any other wolf would do if cooped up in an office all day.
So he motioned that he'd be back in two minutes and stepped back out of sight to shed his shorts and shift easily into the furrier form he prefers to be in whenever he steps into the forest. Shaking out his dark grey fur he stretched on the spot before trotting back out to meet the other two.
"We'll head to the stream, if anybody else arrives after we've left we should be easy enough to follow." The scent trail and all.. Inwardly he sighed, he'd been hoping for a deer kill this meet, it had been something to look forward too. But maybe they'd managed to catch a pheasant or two. Or a rabbit. Who knows, they may even surprise him, but he wasn't getting his hopes up. It's not like he minds playing tourguide for the new members anyway.

This was exciting and Cora couldn’t wait to go explore the forest with the two grownups. While she had explored a little on her own, it would be nice to know places she could safely run around in this form without getting in trouble. She wasn’t entirely sure where she stood on the whole hunting bit, but she could definitely benefit from learning how to rely on her senses a little more than she currently did.
If she stopped to think about it, Cora had to admit that she had always had a keen sense of smell, she had mostly just ignored it if it wasn’t relevant to finding snacks when she was hungry. And avoiding icky smells of course. Listening to Zev talk, Cora, was eager to just see what this was all about. “I don’t know anything about hunting,” she admitted after he’d brought it up. She knew wolves and big cats usually hunted, but she had no idea about her own species. She figured she’d find out though, so why not try?
Cora didn’t really know when they had both shifted, she just realized it smelled differently and it made her think it was safe to turn around again. She wanted to play with the jaguar, but she focused on the alpha instead. Dutch would be very disappointed if she made a mess of things her first time out with shifters, so she had to focus on doing what the alpha said.
The pup was more than happy to walk over to Zev. Her tail was wagging because she was genuinely excited about all this. Sure, the other two might’ve hoped for a bigger turn out, but for her this was nice. Not too many people to get familiar with at once. “I promise not to set anything on fire,” she told him, just in case he had worried about that. Because honestly, she didn’t know how, so it wasn’t something he needed to worry about yet.

notes here. @tagged words: #### | The wolf kept himself from being seen. He didn’t want to be taken back to the awful building. It took a lot of energy and time to get out of the room. He managed to get some energy enough to shift back to his form, that he loved so much. He relies on his nose, as he didn’t think he was spotted just yet. Since the pack was small, he didn’t see he was missing anything. There was one person he didn’t see and enjoyed her company. Slowly he kept his body to the ground, more like he was stalking the pack and checking out the strengths and weaknesses. His piercing green eyes watched more as he kept with the pack with ease. Using his own speed. You can see he was maturing more, as his bright red puppy fur, was being replaced with a more darker tone of red as the adult fur was beginning to take over his body. He found another bush and stayed there, waiting to see what they would do next.

just need her active @tagged words: #### | Reena haven’t seen Logan for a while, she did miss his mischievous attitude though. She hoped he would come back soon. She needed some help with the shifts as they cause her so much pain and upset as she hated it. She didn’t think it was happening until she was forced to turn, when she wants to or not. Sometimes she can avoid the turn for up to a month before, it gets too much and she forces to stay in the form lot longer than normal.
She headed to the woods and go to the same spot as every single time, and she started to strip nude, as the shift took old. She would have to take pills again to deaden the pain as it was way too much for her to handle. Soon the shift was complete and she was in her beautiful black wolf form. The only way you can tell her in wolf form was her piercing blue eyes.
Reena didn’t know the pack was heading this way, as she was by the stream lapping up some of the water. She hasn't joined the pack, as she didn’t know Logan was in the pack or not. Enjoying the stream she started to play with the water, and digging at it just get some enjoyment out of it.

He gave a small nod and an almost apologetic expression as Zev spoke on a better turn out. "Maybe next time," he offered as some form of condolence. The jaguar looked at the small girl. So her name was Cora. He could remember that. Admittedly the black panther had explored the forest quite a bit in his free time, occasionally crossing onto the pack grounds to see if he could pick up any scents. A proper tour would be much better though. "Tour sounds good. Hunting sounds even better." He couldn't wait to sink his claws into something. It wasn't about the kill, but the work and skill it took to execute it. He looked to the hellhound as she admitted to not knowing how to hunt. Cato didn't know whether to be surprised or dumbfounded. He hadn't grown up with a pack, but he knew how to hunt. He'd just assumed it was an instinct thing. She was young though. Who knew.
Cato's tail tip kept twitching despite his calm demeanor. It wasn't intentional, but whatever Cora was, it was making him a bit uncomfortable. Edgy even. He'd been under the impression that pack members were shifters or weres. He supposed that she could be considered a shifter, but it wasn't what he'd had in mind. It...er, she didn't smell like an animal. He couldn't even begin to explain it. He just knew that he didn't like it. Maybe by the time he'd finished running around and hunting he'd have put it all in the back of his mind.
As a dark grey wolf appeared, Cato rose to his paws. He sniffed the air as the wolf informed them that the stream would be their first stop. Cato enjoyed playing in water. He was a sucker for swimming. He doubted it would be deep enough for him to really play in, but he'd dip his paws in before they headed to the second location. His ear flicked lightly as Cora told Zev she wouldn't set anything on fire. He was going to assume that was a joke.
