If there was one thing she knew for sure, it was that she had to be careful not to purr in human form, especially around humans. It was one of those things she couldn’t always help though and it was part of the reason why she enjoyed sending time in animal form more than human. The other was the clothes... But she couldn't just live life as a cat either, it closed a lot of doors and a lot of opportunities for things she found amusing. Like dancing. Or even singing. Couldn’t do either of those as a cat and blend in.
“Thankfully don’t really pee on stuff, but still tend to purr or do that thing cats do where they rub against your leg, only, you know, whole body instead.” She couldn’t always help all that though, it was just a big part of her. Probably would’ve helped if she’d spent more time as a human rather than a cat though.
“I like unique,” she stated, grinning slightly at him. Sure, other hybrids like him might exist out there, but he was the only one she had met so far and so she wanted to get to know him better. If only so she could say she knew a unique individual. “Grooming sessions?” she asked, curious what exactly he meant by that. “Like you trick someone to pet and groom you? Or another shifter and grooming?” She couldn’t help but be a little curious about that really, because finding someone like that sounded awesome.
“Have to make sure all your wires are safe too,” she pointed out. “Bunnies chew things. Don’t want them chewing anything electric.” It seemed like good advice after all. She’d been in homes before where they’d had bunnies and all the wires were covered with something to keep them safe when the bunny was out of its crate.
Looking over the crate he held up like that, Ella smiled at him. “Looks like it can work,” she offered. If he had someone who could fix it up a little, and she assumed this alpha was a human too, it would definitely be better than nothing.

Bram didn’t really know what was so bad about peeing on things or purring for that matter, both were natural to their species and yet here he was told it was bad to mark everything in that way, that it meant nothing too outside of pack life. But Bram wasn’t sure if Ella would get a similar message about her purring and the rubbing up people part, that kind of thing seemed a little more tolerated with most. “Rubbing is ok I think.” He guessed it depends on the person being rubbed up against but he couldn’t see many objecting to a cute little kitty doing it. “Bram licks people and nobody told him not too.” Face, neck, ears, chest, standard greeting stuff. He guessed that might be luck though.
Nodding, Bram grinned a bit wider as Ella asked about the grooming sessions, though he briefly wondered if he should have mentioned that as it was not the same as the whole licking people thing he was talking about before. “No tricks.” he said with a frown, taking just a little offence at the idea he might need to do that. “Bram is just lovely and people want to lick my wolfy self and I get to do it back because I’m good at it. But yeah, is another shifter. Big cat one.” Bram would have given Daisy’s name but he figured he should check with her first, only so many ways you can split your grooming time when you have a Bram and a mini-Jackson now, Bram didn’t want his session missed either as Ella took it, even if she was tiny and it likely wouldn’t take long.
Bram hadn’t thought about wiring, hadn’t thought about making his home bunny safe at all really, or mini-Jackson safe for that matter. Did babies chew things? Getting a little wide eyed, Bram looked to the bunny, “Got lot of wires at home.” he said thinking out loud, three floors of it. “Don’t know how gonna do that.” He guessed there were things you can buy, covers but it take a lot of them. Looking around the area, Bram set the crate down for now and placed Bunny in it, it looked big enough for a temporary home if nothing else.

Ella didn't think there was anything wrong with peeing on things if you were a canine shifter. As long as you peed in your animal form that is. It was a little bit weird to be peeing on stuff in human form. Not that she was going to point that out because the feline things she did in human form was something she imagined most others would consider weird as well. Besides, who was she to point out what was human or not looking like she did right now? "Some people still find the rubbing weird when I look human," she said, chuckling slightly. "Guess rubbing up against people and licking them depends entirely on who you do it too," she said. She liked this guy. Liked how in touch with his wolf he was. It was refreshing to meet someone who didn't keep themselves completely separate from their animal part like the shifters that had first tried to teach her how to fit in among humans seem to do.
When she asked if he'd tricked someone into grooming sessions, she kind of pictured how she'd gotten someone to groom her in the past by bringing them a brush as a cat and not moving from their laps until they brushed her. "Sounds like you're an awesome friend," she pointed out when he was done explaining about his sessions with a big cat shifter. "I usually just bring people a brush and wait until they brush my fur," she admitted. "Or refuse to move from whatever book, laptop or otherwise inconvenient place I've chosen to lay down until I get the attention I want." But then, that wasn't something she did to be mean, even if it sounded like it at times, there were just times when she wanted a little attention and being a nuisance was the best way to get it. Humans could be so dense at times.
The last thing she'd wanted was to stress Bram out, but it had seemed important to remind him to secure his wiring if he brought home a bunny. It would suck if the pet got itself electrocuted after all. "Just gotta cover the floor ones," she pointed out, hoping it would help. "This one home I stayed in had a bunny, they had all the wires covered in a tube-like thing. And protected the wooden legs of furniture so it wouldn't gnaw on the furniture. Maybe your alpha can help with all that?" she was only trying to help him make sure the bunny was safe as his place, but when he'd said he didn't know how he was going to do that it seemed safer to suggest someone that might have some ideas. After all, if this alpha might help fix the crate they'd found, he might be able to help make the home bunny-proof too.
"Do you know what people do for fun around here? Other than get wasted I mean, seems like a lot of people are going to the bar just to try to find a little fun..."

Bram liked to think he was sensible enough to judge who was a licker and who was not, his wolf instincts were pretty good even when subdued by alcohol and they usual told him who was ok to greet like an animal and who it was better to just say hi to. So far he hadn’t been punched or shoved away from anyone he had given a tongue greeting to, he saw no reason because of that to start ignoring what he deemed to be the better instincts. Partly as the only other voice to listen to was his vampire and that liked to greet with teeth. “Bram won’t mind if you do it to him.” Fur on fur was nice, skin on skin was great too. He couldn’t think many shifters or were-things would object really unless they were a bit crazy and weird.
Bram gave another smile, thinking Daisy was very awesome. Smelt great and had awesome colours too, but that was a fact Bram kept to himself. He was very aware now that others didn’t see things the way he did and he didn’t want to come across as too much of an oddity to Ella, even if he was fairly sure if she did not find the grooming, peeing on things and bunny adoption weird, she wouldn’t the seeing sounds.
He had to laugh a little at her method of gaining attention though, it just sounded so typically cat like, and he was sure he had noticed Spud do the same. “If it works… Got to train them properly, hu?” he said and gave a shrug before grinning again, just meaning if it worked then why not do it? Sounded like it was as much any humans fault for encouraging things and giving kitty what she wanted. “Might try that next time.” For fun. Just crawl over the sofa over Daisy and block the view of the tv or pull Alpha away from his desk and sit on him so he can’t easily reach his laptop. Or just drop a hairbrush in their laps. Either thing seemed funny in his head.
Maybe after he had bunny-proofed Carpe though… Seemed a bad idea to annoy Alpha or Daisy when he might need their help with fixing things. Bram knew he could do it himself but it would be quicker even with his added speed to have more hands.
“Tube things.” Bram repeated and then pulled out his phone, first sending off a message to ask Alpha about Bunny names then he follow up with the other questions, otherwise he though asking about tubes and things to stop chair legs being nommed might confuse him. “Alpha is great. He will help.” Bram was sure Daisy would too but he didn’t want to bother her since she had her own mini to worry about, can’t expect her to be crawling over the floor covering wires.
Putting his phone away now Bram looked back to his bunny and gently rubbed its head. But fun… What was fun around here? Bram would say ‘drink’ but Ella stated ‘other than getting wasted’ and that left him a bit clueless, partly as he didn’t actually spend time around Manson either.
“Er… the shifter types go to pack meetings. Or if you are low enough level you get town trips and stuff. Is a music room here too.” Bram remember spending a lot of time in there as a resident. .

While she didn’t always consider who might be safe to rub up against as a greeting as a human, Ella was generally very particular about who she treated at all as a cat. She didn’t always want to great people after all, some people were best to just ignore. “Now that I know you’re not a rabid wolf, I won’t mind if you greet however feels most natural to you in the future either,” she informed him, smiling at him. It was usually harder for her to get a read on shifters than regular animals or other people, but she figured that had something to do with their dual nature more than anything. Bram seemed like a cool guy though and since she knew she’d recognize him as a human or his unique scent as an animal, she wouldn’t freak out about being licked.
“Can’t do it too often or they’ll get annoyed, but eventually they all learn when to pay attention and when to just leave me be.” It took work to train people who thought they’d just adopted a stray into behaving how she preferred, but most of the time it was worth it for the free housing and food. And those times it wasn’t worth it, she left. “If you try it on the big cat, might not work,” she suggested. “I mean, might at least get caught onto what you’re doing fairly quick.” She couldn’t say for certain of course, it all depended on how in tune with their animal instincts the shifter was.
Ella wished she could be more helpful about the bunny-proofing, but she had been pretending to just be a cat at the time so she hadn’t really been able to ask the humans more specifically about what it was and had to rely on her memory of what it looked like. “I guess that’s one thing wolves have that cats usually don’t. A pack, someone to rely on to help with things like that.” She’d never understood it, but she could definitely see the benefits of it.
Shifter types went to pack meetings… Town trips sounded more her pace, though music room sounded awesome too. “Sounds like a lot of options,” she agreed. “Guess it’s never too late to learn how to play instruments.” She would probably get distracted, but it was worth trying at least. “Need anything else before I head back inside?” She knew she should probably head inside before she was missed, just because she had permission to hunt a little at night, didn’t mean she’d asked if she could be out all night after all.

Bram thought it would be nice to have a friend that was not an owner, Ella fell into that category for him. He wasn’t sure how much he would actually see of the kitty-woman as he did not come to Manson unless he had to, which made keeping friends a little difficult, but all the same he was happy to have someone who liked him for who he was, and as a bonus, did not mind any of his very wolf-like behaviour. “Licking.” Bram said quite firmly, given the choice of greeting, it was what he always went for but he could switch to the rubbing thing too, seemed only fair to do what Ella liked sometimes.
She was probably right though that being ‘cute annoying’ could turn into proper annoying if you do it too often, then you wouldn’t get any grooming or pets… It wasn’t a pleasant thought and Bram wondered if he should do it at all now since he was a fair bit bigger, bulkier in both forms than Ella is. Having her on your lap or laptop wouldn’t break anything, he was sure even his (self determined) cute little butt would crack something if he sat on it.
“Might just stick to asking since that works.” Bram said with a shrug, seemed less work really. Daisy and Alpha were pretty clever too… he doubted he could really train them like Ella did her humans. He did have other priorities now with the Bunny and Daisy did with the baby, so did Alpha, Bram didn’t want to make himself a nuisance.
“Cats don’t like packs.” Bram said then refocused to Ella. “Is what I heard.” he didn’t want to seem like he was telling her about her own species. The only cats he knew of that were different are lions and having a pride. But yes, it was nice to have people to rely on, Bram didn’t know how much he had missed it until he got his odd little family.
Manson was meant to be one big family but Bram did not really see it, he kept that thought to himself though, didn’t want to scare Ella away. The activities and things to do might not be many that he knew of but they had been fun enough, he was sure Ella could find a way to entertain herself, she seemed like a people person and who doesn’t like kitties?
“Er, no. Gonna take bunny home. This will work as a bed for now.” Bram replied and went to give her cheek a thank you lick, grateful for her help as if it wasn’t for her skills he wouldn’t have gotten into here. He hoped she didn’t get into trouble though, he realised he hadn’t actually asked if she was meant to be out this late.

Ella nodded at his decisive word. She could accept that that was what was most natural for him and just go with it. Besides, there were way worse ways to be greeted than with a lick. Like tail-grabbing... Yeah, that poor kid had gotten scratched up pretty badly. Bram should be who he was the same way she insisted on still being feline half the time in human form.
"If it works, why change it?" she said, grinning at him. Honestly, if simply asking worked for him, then he didn't need to change anything. She just had more experience with regular humans than she did with shifters and they generally needed to be told in less straight-forward ways. "We do tend to be solitary creatures," she agreed. She was all for socializing, but really only when it suited her and it was rarely with other felines.
"Something tells me he's going to have a wonderful time with you," she said, grinning slightly at the lick on her cheek like that. Bram seemed like the kind of person who would genuinely care for the bunny and give it a good home. It didn't matter to her where it had originally come from as long as it got a good home now. "I'll see you around sometime," she said, shifting back to her feline form before she rubbed her side against his leg. It just seemed safer to make sure she wasn't too close to the bunny while doing that before she made sure she still had her mouse and headed towards where she'd left her robe so she could go back inside without people telling her off for not wearing clothes.
