If Sage wanted to live in denial, Andreas decided that it wasn’t his place to try to change his mind. Instead, it seemed better to just wish him well and hope for a miracle along with him than suggest otherwise. He wasn’t a therapist or a doctor, so all he could do was be a supportive friend. Supportive friends didn’t keep bringing up things they wanted to avoid. So, it was time to get some fresh air instead and just think happy thoughts. “Better to enjoy a drink with someone than from someone,” he said, grinning slightly back at the kid. Sure, he enjoyed the buzz that often came with Sage, but he would much rather just have a drink with him and enjoy his company for a bit. “Do me a favor next time you’re outside during the day,” he said, wrapping his arm around Sage’s back so the drunk could lean on him if need be. “Take some pictures?” He wanted to see how this place really looked in daylight and there weren't a whole lot of other people he could think of to ask. Once they reached a suitable place to sit, Andreas would help the human sit down before using his speed to get a bottle of something and return to his side.

Take some pictures in the daylight? He could do that.. He's mostly nocturnal himself anyway because he's sleeping away a hangvoer most days until the late afternoon, but he's sure that he could stay awake and conscious for a decent enough period during the day to snap some pics. At least of the grounds anyway. He's pretty sure that he has a couple of pictures, but mostly because he was trying to get a picture of some messed up looking ghosts. So the pics are unfocused and of nothing in particular so he didn't bother to voice it to Andreas. Instead he just agreed and hummed to himself until he was helped onto the bench where he sat quite contently, amused by watching the vampire speed off like that.
"Are you going to let him do it?" Ade's voice didn't sound quite as upbeat as it usually did and Sage glanced over to him with a questioning expression, "huh?"
"Don't play dumb, Sage, do you think you'll become a vampire? Knowing what you know about them now?" The red head didn't look particularly pleased but then Sage didn't particularly expect him to be. The ectomancer smiled lightly, a wan look that made seem just as tired as he is, "I don't know, Ade.. But I don't want to die."
"Becoming a vampire would be dying, you idiot, what do you think 'undead' means? Dead but it just isn't sticking. I can't believe you'd-"
"You'd rather I just gave in? Died, became another spirit wandering Manson's halls because I'm not ready to move on? Doesn't seem much better really, does it? I don't want too-" Sage sounded irritated and Ade just stared at him in silence for a few moments before turning around and making his way over to the forest. Sage didn't call after him. He didn't force him to return. He'd let the ghost go for now, to sort his thoughts out. He'd come back later. Probably. He always had done before.
Anyway, Andreas arrived with a bottle soon after Ade had started walking away so his attention went back to the vampire and he grinned brightly, "you're an absolute legend, you know that right?"

Andreas was blissfully unaware of the conversation that was going on between Sage and his friends while he was off getting a bottle to drink. He’d also stopped to grab himself a shot of blood while he was at the bar, not because he was hungry, but to make sure he wouldn’t get sick if he drank more booze without it. Seemed best to make sure, even if he hadn’t been overly worried.
When he returned, Andreas grinned slightly at what Sage had to say and offered him the first drink from the rum he’d snatched from the bar. “Legend might be stretching it a bit, but I do enjoy good company with my drinks,” he said, chuckling slightly. Whatever else he was, Sage was at least that. And Andreas would be sad if anything were to happen to the kid when there was a way to prevent that. Naturally, if he’d thought shifter healing would’ve helped his liver problems, that would’ve been his first suggestion, but if they were trying to cut him off and he was already starting to go yellow, it probably wouldn’t be enough.
“If anyone asks though, we found this bottle out here,” he said, sitting down next to the kid.

Sage didn't want to upset Adrian.. The ghost had quite literally been with him through some bad things and this was admittedly one of the worst. The ectomancer doesn't want to die. The thought actually terrifies him when he focuses on it too much, to the point where all he can do to deal with it is drown himself in alcohol which actually just makes the entire situation so much worse. Or at least it'd lead to a quicker death for himself.. So he wasn't helping himself in the slightest really.
"Nah, y'are," he said with a slightly lopsided smile, "I mean.. Everywhere's cut me off, and they don't understand that I need it y'know?" He took the drink with a thankful grin and twisted the top off before taking a drink. He hadn't even checked what was in the bottle, just went straight ahead and took a swig, he made an adjusting little cough before taking a smaller swig and handing it out to Andreas, "I can't deal with the thoughts and the feelings.. I hate my head, the alcohol helps." Sage had never learnt to deal with anything in a healthy manner. Counsellors had tried working on him but because he's never quit drinking they've never got far.
"If anybody asks I have no idea what bottle they're referring too," he snorted out a little laugh and patted Andreas on the arm, "If anything I can do clueless pretty damn well. Or I'll start talking to the wall or something, that usually makes them give up on questioning me."
Sage slumped back comfortably on the bench, his head lifted a little to look up that little bit at Andreas, "so.. How old are you and stuff? Realised I don't know that much about you despite everything."

While he could appreciate the doctors trying to help Sage by making sure he didn’t have access to alcohol, if he needed it to function it wasn’t really helping him all that much. At least, that was his opinion on the matter. Couldn’t expect a drunk to stop drinking if he wasn’t ready for it himself. Forcing sobriety on anyone seemed to be a fleeting state of being. “I’ve heard people need to be ready to stop drinking for it to stick anyway, and if you’re not ready to give it up, then my thinking is it’ll only hurt more to cut you off,” he offered by way of explaining why he didn’t think it was fair to cut Sage off.
“I’m not good at dealing with those things either, stealing shit, getting wasted and breaking things are my way of dealing,” he said, chuckling slightly before he had a good gulp of the bottle himself. He wasn’t in any position to judge Sage on anything. Besides, if he had to deal with ghosts on a daily basis, he might want to stay perpetually drunk as well.
Andreas appreciated the way he was so nonchalant about talking to a wall. “People are quick to judge what they can’t understand,” he said, offering the bottle back to Sage. “Me? Oh, been like this for about a hundred and forty years, alive for about 30ish before that. Spent most my human life on or around ships.” Andreas didn’t really know what exactly Sage was after, but that seemed like a good start.

"Yeah, I've heard that too.. And I ain't ready, pretty sure it'll hurt and be just far too stressful to go through the whole detox and.." He trailed off thoughtfully and made a small grunt, "no, no I don't think I could do it." At the end of the day Sage isn't somebody who would say he was particularly brave or confident. Not enough to go through something that he just knows would be really difficult anyway. Stopping drinking wasn't an option. He was going to die anyway, might as well die doing something he enjoys rather than suffering to his last day. "It's okay anyway, everything'll be okay." Because he wouldn't suffer anyway, if he was going too then he'd most likely just get somebody to kill him quickly.. He's sure there'd be some vampire willing to drain him if he decides he doesn't want to be turned.
At the moment though that's not looking like too bad of a thing.
Sage had ever really broken things before as a way of dealing with things, he has a feeling that he'd end up being exhausted before too long if he did something like that anyway. The ectomancer definitely doesn't have much strength behind him, he doesn't spend much tiime working out. Or moving all too much actually. He's more of a sloth than a human being.
Sage took the bottle back and barely felt the warmth of the alcohol as he swallowed it down, it did leave his head feeling pleasantly numb though, he liked that, he could sleep like this, he could relax. He smiled lightly when Andreas spoke, a hundred and forty years.. plus thirty. That was a lot of life, especially next to his eighteen years, "woah.. So you were a real, honest to god pirate? Did you have a sword? Or one of those hefty looking guns with the powder?"

After listening to him speak, Andreas smiled slightly at him. “Well, you run out and nobody wants to help you out, come find me, ok? What are friends for if not steal a little booze for you every once in a while, eh?” Andreas wouldn’t mind bringing Sage a little booze every now and again to save him the pain of withdrawal and detox when he wasn’t ready for it himself. It seemed like the least he could do really. Andreas did best when he kept himself busy, so keeping busy helping Sage out seemed like a better idea than sitting on his hands.
He couldn’t help but chuckle at Sage’s questions. It was something that was seemed like a common reaction. “Had both,” he said, grinning slightly at the man. “Preferred the sword actually. Much more interesting and close up.” He wouldn’t say he was a violent man, but he wouldn’t deny enjoying a good fight if he had no other choice either.
