Lauri was running, no, flooring it to use a better term down the train tracks in a desperate attempt to for once in his life not be late. He was only nineteen and had another hundred years at best to live determine not to make a name for himself as ‘the dude who was always late’. The up side to being a demon you could say was the abnormal abilities and the fey blood, well, healing just came quicker. Useful for when you legs moved faster then your brain and you often ran head first into things. Never though had Lauri really regretted being ‘born’ or what he was, there were times it got him into trouble such as hitting puberty, and you thought being human and going through it was hard, try being a horny half demon Incubus and you know what hard was. Lauri was surprised he didn't fuck half the girls in the street while they slept, then his dad had chained him to his room under he could 'keep it in his pants'
He guessed he should be grateful he could wonder life and be hidden, he looked human just a bit gaunt and pasty, his eyes were a bit more vibrent due to the fay blood to but not so much he draw unwanted attention. No, mostly it was his family that messed his life up, his dad more precisely. He hated that guy and his brothers, somewhat his mother but only as he knew he hurt her and in turn disliked her for making him come here. He had one meltdown, so it was a large meltdown but he was ok-ish now. They couldn't even come with him to make sure he moved in ok, his dad wasn't in the country but Lauri didn't think he come even if he could but his mum, he thought of all people she show.
Slowing down he hopped one more fence and trudged towards the academy in the dark. The school had a lot of vampires and more obvious non-human residents so night time move ins were normal. Lauri rather go in the morning, the dark scared him hence another reason he was running to get inside. Yeah, a demon scared of the dark.. Lauri wasn't excactly embody the stereotype of demon. Looking around he tried to spy some other students but the area was empty so he resigned to finding his own way to his room, probably late and missed everyone. Grumbling under his breath he sighed out and rather nervously walked past the old buildings on the campus before stopping at the lawns and dropped his bag of things to his feet.

Week number three of Angel being in this nut place. She wasn’t too happy about it, but today wasn’t going so badly. The seventeen year old half vampire half witch that had a slight mood swing problem was forced here by her ‘father.’ With the training her real father drilled into her head from a young age it was easy for Angel to adjust to being a vampire. In the three weeks Angel has been at this little hell on earth place. She has had four crying break downs, two temper flairs, and got into a fight. But oddly today her mood was pretty stable. She was grateful for the days her mood was stable. No extreme ups where she couldn’t sit still, no extreme downs where she was crying, depressed, or about to kill someone. Today was a good day. She was one to always be on time being late wasn’t something she neither liked nor condoned others to be when they were going somewhere with her. She was a bit OCD when it came to being on time to places. She was always early to her classes.
Angel walked the school grounds. Her long hair flowed past her shoulders. Her eyes popping next to the smoky black makeup she wore, her breast almost falling out of the corset that clenched her waist in. She wore tight black skinny jeans and black high heals. A tattoo she had gotten for her bothers death was worn proudly on her wrist. It had his name and a rose wrapped around a glossy looking black dagger. As she walked many guys stared at her even a few with their mouths hung open. She ignored them and kept on her way. She heard a few girls whisper about her. “I heard she killed someone at her last school.” The blonde girl spoke. “She almost killed that little red headed boy last week. All he did was asked her about her family and she freaked out.” A girl with black and red hair said. Angel just smiled and eyed the girls.
Angel wedged her self between two old abandoned buildings and lay on the grass looking up at the sky. She felt calm when she looked at the stars. The only time all of the thoughts in her head, the anger, and the worry melted away. She heard foot steps growing closer to her. She sat up the moon light glowing off of her skin. She tilted her head waiting for the person to come to her. She smelled the air, wasn’t human, wasn’t vampire, nor werewolf. She couldn’t quite put her finger on the smell of the person.

Gawping at the various buildings Lauri was hardly looking where he was walking but sensed he was alone still. He was to far out to be near any of the gatherings of people and didn’t think any student would be in this area anyway, it was far to run down and even dangerous. Boring almost if it were not for the fact the dilapidated state had its own beauty in a falling down and rotting sort of way. It was strange why the owner of the academy didn’t just pull the lot down and have more land for the academy, these buildings were past repair and couldn’t be used so why keep them? Looking inside one Lauri didn’t realise he was walking through it until it was too late and hastily made a retreat out through what looked like used to be a window. ‘Damn’ He said looking around seeing he had left his bag behind and glanced around to retrace his steps to pick it up again, becoming aware he was no longer alone. This was either a good thing or very bad, Lauri was yet to meet any of his fellow students to know what company they were like. He could be seen as damn near sane to some, at least he thought his mental state was pretty level. Demon in nothing but name, much to his dads dislike.
Lauri guessed he must have got more Fey blood, queue endless teasing by his step brothers about being a ‘fairy’. He never saw it badly though, his fey side that is, the words cut deep though. Sticks and stones? Fuck that, sticks and stones may break bones but words will hurt forever. Maybe Lauri was just soft, he knew he was no real demon and if his instincts didn’t control him he never have the balls to do anything. It was quite depressing really. Sighing out he mumbled under his breath (bad habit) and tried to find the main building having not acquired a sense of direction with his other traits.
Still looking anywhere but ahead all to late he spotted the girl in the darkness and darted to the side to avoid her, jumping to land cat like crouched a short distance away. Well, that was how it was in Lauri mind, but it was not quite that graceful and his landing was shaky but at least he didn’t flatten her. Turning round he swiftly rose to his feet quicker then you can blink and was back in front of her with a concerned look. “Oh I am so sorry. It was my fault, I didn’t hurt you did I?” he asked looking her over, smelling a wave of feminine hormones like a smack in the face. But this girl was awake which was good or Lauri might not be able to hold back in his current sleep deprived anxious state.

Her first mental break down was the very first day she got there. It was her mothers fault in all reality. Her mother’s last words to her were ‘This is your last chance.’ In other words Angel’s mother disowned her. She was a thing in her mother’s eyes. A monster just as her father was, just another thing to walk the earth and destroy it. Angel broke down, didn’t and wouldn’t talk to anyone. The staff tried to calm her down. Her screams could be heard threw out the building. Nothing calmed her down. She cried her self to sleep just as she does more nights then not. Angel hasn’t made any friends in the three weeks she has been here. Too many people heard about her temper and her break downs she has. She is quite use to having no one but her self. And the normal as she walks guys trip over their selves just to talk to her. Many have flirted with her, try to get in her pants. All of their games they were use to and just brushed off.
The old buildings here were beautiful to her. She heard the stories about what they were used for in the past. And how some people think they are still in use. She didn’t care, they were old. They had a charm that modern buildings didn’t have. They sang to her old soul. Angel always though she was born in the wrong time period. She studied the Victorian age forwards and backwards. She knew about the good, the bad, and the ugly. She was one that could say insane asylums weren’t much different from back then to now. Even more so true for girls. The Victorian times weren’t all the prime and glory that most people thought they were. They were truly hell for girls. There was pretty much one good option for girls back then. And that was simply to kill their self. Truly an ugly time when Angel would think back upon it, but oddly that’s what drew her into it.
She heard the person come closer and closer. She sat up just as the guy about ran into her, she just stared at him for a moment until she could figure out exactly what had happened. Once she figured out just was just about ran over by a guy who wasn’t paying attention to where he was going and then his voice met her ears. “It’s quite fine, partly my fault. I’m lying on the ground in a dark place. Most people wouldn’t have even seen me when you did.” She half smiled and fully sat up. She brushed her hair back behind her shoulders.

Oh no, he had just jumped through the air - badly but no human could do that or come close to it. The current situation was quite surreal, Lauri was so used to being guarded that he almost forgot he was talking to another creature and his act was really kind of normal. His expression of near terror was unchanged though as he looked the girl over and tasted her scent filling his mouth. Vampire, yes, that was what she was. It was a unmistakeable taste they had but something else was in her, less prominent so maybe it was a human mix, like a witch of sorts or some sort of mancer power. All this knowledge washed over Lauri within moments of seeing the girl, he wasn’t sure how or what to make of it but it was there at the back of his mind. So if he knew that how much did this girl know, did it matter? He was so unused to company his mind and worries were moving at a rapid rate he almost forgot he asked her a question and she was replying that he just caught the end that she was ok.
“Oh well, er sorry. Again.” He said taking a step back not making much eye contact preferring to look at the ground and more her mouth, which could be taken as looking at her chest. There was enough of it, all squashed into that corset like that... Just shut your eyes, no that would be plain odd, fuck was Lauri was being such a social retard right now and he cleared his throat lightly. “A-are you new here?” he asked trying to break the tension in his own mind and holding her gaze somewhat as he pulled his bag back over his shoulder but it slipped so just laid it at his feet, probably to walk off without it again later. “I am.. I was trying to find the residences.” he added with a small shrug starting to ramble slightly as he looked around again. Anywhere was better then on her right now until he could get a grip on himself. “Er, im Lauri..” he added with a faint smile thinking he must seem either a bit thick in the head or had the attention span of a newt with all the traits he was throwing out.
Oh well, at least he wouldn’t be known as the guy that was always late, just as the class retard. Only ten minuets he been here to, that had to be some sort of record for self sabotage. Maybe he could blame this on his mood, he was feeling tired then he wasn’t much better awake. In either case most took a step back finding out about the incubus trait, the idea of getting raped in the night wasn’t appealing to most girls, or Lauri imagined so as he hadn’t told any girls about that outside close family relatives. Still, if this girl was a vampire she probably had similar experiences, worse maybe with how they were generally seen.

She watched the boy’s movements. He seemed uneasy. ‘Poor thing.’ She said in her head as she watched him. She could smell a faint scent of demon coming off of him. More exact incubus. Angel had been around different creatures her whole life. Her neighbor back at home was incubus. Her father didn’t like him too well with how he looked at Angel. Angel wasn’t sure why the boy seemed so uneasy, or why he would be. She tilted her head trying to figure him out. She was use to guys being shy around her. But he seemed almost scared of her. Well not quite scared she wasn’t sure how to put it. She heard his voice again, him apologizing to her again. “It’s quite alright. I’m not harmed. No harm no foul.” He wouldn’t look at her. She watched him in awe at his strange ways. Angel wasn’t scared of a sex crazed demon as most girls would be. ‘Is he honestly scared of a vampire? Hmm. Odd.’ She almost smirked as those words played in her head.
She had to keep from giggling quite a few times. She heard his stutter. ‘Awe he is scared. I think at least. Poor boy.’ She smiled kindly at him. “I’ve been here now around three weeks.” Her accent wasn’t as thick as what most people would think a born and raised Norwegian’s accent would be. Finally she saw those eyes of his meet hers. He still seemed apprehensive of looking at her. It really had Angel amused. She watched the bag slip from the boys shoulder. She smiled again when the boy spoke about trying to find the living quarters. “You made a wrong turn about two-hundred feet ago. This is the opposite side of the grounds.” She didn’t understand how anyone could be that lost. The school grounds were well split up. The old quite far from the new. She watched him again looking everywhere but on her. Never in her life has she had a guy this uneasy around her. Well unless someone would count the guy she about killed not to long ago.
She heard his names. “Pleasure to meet you Lauri, I am Angel.” She always thought it were irony that her father gave her that name. When he did the things he did to her. It was pure irony. She thought how he was acting was cute. Almost child like, like when a little kid was around his first crush and was just gushing or couldn’t say a word. She was really holding back on saying something about how he acted. “I’ll walk with you there so you don’t get lost again.” She offered trying to ease the boys mind. “First incubus I’ve met here as well.” She smiled trying to strike up some sort of conversation. She wasn’t sure what to talk about. She didn’t want to fully scare him away. He was cute.

Lauri was used to apologising, he was pretty clumsy so often walked into people or dropped things simply as he wasn’t being careful. Then there were his step brothers who in the age old fairy tale way made him do everything work and take all the blame when things went wrong so ‘sorry’ was second nature. He was a sensitive type as well so over thought things and what people thought of him, he knew it should not be important but the environment he live in was based on who thought what about who. He was quite skilled in his own way, perhaps quite arrogantly he believed he was better off working on his own then a team as he get stuff done faster and often left to his own devices so Lauri hardly ever socialised to know what to do when meeting another person. There was really no need to be awkward around Angel, she was nice and look harmless so Lauri guessed he should relax. His excuse was not wanting to hurt her but awake she was safe, hell, asleep she was safe.. Lauri had only ever ‘visited’ a few girls in the night and then he was dragged away by his dad before anything could happen. No, he was just being irrational about this. He was here to be helped anyway, not to worry even more then before.
“Oh.” Lauri said chewing at his lower lip slightly thinking this place must not be to bad if she been here almost a month and still looked happy. Then again he wasn’t great at picking up subtle expression or the fact Angel was amused with him rather then happy at being here. Looking behind Lauri had no idea what 200 feet was but guessed he still go wrong, “I came from the train tracks.. maybe thats why.” He said with a shrug but still felt stupid and looked to his feet again, catching himself from muttering again and forced his gaze upwards. He just wished he could come in the morning when it was light and there was no people lurking around, normal people moved into new places in the morning and Lauri wanted to be as normal as possible. That and having been lost in the dark Norwegian forests for weeks kind of made him paranoid, he should never have run away, with his sense of direction (or lack there of) he was never going to find his way back. Had he been human he most certainly would have been dead by the time he was found near crazed
Showing a faint slightly lopsided smile Lauri tried to see a bit more sure. “Pretty name.” He said before thinking if that was a compliment or just slightly cheesy thing to say, if something people said at all. “Um, er thanks you.” He said she was right saying he might get lost again otherwise and went to picking up his bag again but almost froze half way when Angel said he was the first incubus she had met. ‘oh God, so she did know and placing his bag onto his shoulder again he looked to Angel trying to figure out if she saw that as bad or not. “Sorry.” He mumbled again not sure what he was apologising for but it was the normal when people found out what he was, more so for holding back he was a demon, evil, demonic.... “I mean for taking up your time.” He added quickly but came to the fact he was beyond making himself appear somewhat normal so would just except the help and the fact once she left she probably leave as quick as she could.

The form of apologizing in Angel’s family was working harder. Doing as her father said, never disrespecting him. It was just easier to do as Angel’s father said. It kept the beatings from being as bad as they could get. Angel was clumsy as a child, but her father quickly broke her of it. She never tripped over anything, could most likely walk threw a messy house with her eyes closed with out running into anything. Her father would blind fold her to make her use her ears and nose. The eyes are weak compared to the strength of her other senses. Angel was tender hearted. But also filled with so much anger for what her father did. Her father took away the only reason Angel stood and fight, the little bit of joy she had in her life. Her little brother. Angel’s father forced the children to work alone and often against one another when it came to food and other means of life. Angel was very strong and independent. But also extremely week when it came to emotional means. She never liked to show her weak side. And people hardly ever saw her sweet and kind side. She didn’t trust people so she always put up a shield of anger and hostility to protect her self. Angel wasn’t scared of a hormone crazed demon. Her father once put her against a young incubus. It was one of the hardest fights Angel was ever put into. The boy was her friend. Someone she had gotten close to in school. And Angel ripped his life away. No one knew about Angel taking anyone’s lives. Only her, her brother and her father, and two out of those three people are dead.
Angel watched him chew his lip. The boy in front of her reminded her a lot of the one she killed. Well was forced to kill. The look of amusement faded from her face and a slight flicker of pain went threw her eyes as the memories she tried to hard to forget flashed threw her head. The last moments of her friend’s life were drilled into her head. She had made him chase her far away from her father. Angel apologized to him about her having to do this. It was either her life or his. The terror in her friend’s eyes ate at her slowly and she soon snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Lauri speak to her. She nodded. “I got lost quite a few times my first week here. Mostly out of just wanting to be away….” Her words trailed off. The day time here wasn’t much different from the night time. She chewed in her lip as the screams of her friend filled her head. ‘Please not now.’ She screamed in her head, just wanting the memories to go away. It made the screams and memories flood back into her head more and more. Angel closed her eyes and took a deep breath trying to push out at least a straight face to hide the fact she was in so much emotional pain. She opened them her face blank. Her eyes just kind of stairing off. As if she wasn’t truly there, but in another place. His voice met her ears again.
“Thank you.” She gave a half hearted smile. ‘He is too much like him.’ It pained her more. It was the same thing her friend told her when they first met. She heard him thank her for offering to show him where to go. “It’s not a problem.” She watched him freeze as she said the thing about him being an incubus. “Don’t worry. I had friends back at home that were. I’m use to being around them.” She had only one friend that was. Even at school she had to keep him in check from going off with some random girl. “And you’re not taking up my time. All I have in this world is time.”

She must just be being kind as nobody was nice without thinking something they weren’t saying. He could see it in Angels face she was holding something back, not quite telling the truth. He didn’t want to ask what the problem was in case he was crossing the line but he was curious. “You sure? I can manage if not. Ididn’t mean to upset you” he mumbled rather thinking he was probably the problem not that she might have her own issues. He was always the problem, nothing else so coming here and other people having bad pasts didn’t occur to him. “Really? Did, Did you get on with him? Mostly people don’t like me.. Incubus, I mean. Er..” looking away Lauri thought he should just get walking and followed Angel still feeling like she was helping him reluctantly. She may say she was used to his type but he didn’t think she experienced being attacked by a incubus or seen one in demon form. Then she be different, not friendly or nice but scared stupid and not wanting anything to do with him. “Would you tell me if you were uncomfortable? I rather know, wouldn’t be offended or anything. Just I don’t do well with friends.” He added tentatively not wanting to use the ‘F word’ as they were not friends, not even acquaintances really. “Or people in general. I understand if once you shown me you want to go. It’s fine.” He said with a faint smile coming across really kind of arrogant to think the world revolved around him and his problems, pushing people away before they could even think about getting close. “Im part Fey to though, not full demon.” He added quickly and looked away with a faint frown wishing he could shut his mouth and keep it shut instead of spewing out word vomit like this.
He truly was a idiot. He was just waiting for the slap in the face or kick in the crotch most girls gave him. Looking to Angel he did think she was pretty and the normal way he got to know girls in the past was to try and bed them while they slept, it was the one time he could get close. His Fey side kicked in a fair amount to so if caught he could never lie about what he was or attempting to do. Thats when the slap or kick came. “Do you mind being a vampire? Was anyone else in your family a vampire?” he asked suddenly, not sure how that all worked, he wasn’t sure if vampires could be born. “My step brothers are Incubus, my mum a Fey though. Thats were I got it from.” He said with a faint smile, not really wanting Angel to leave so was trying to keep the conversation going.
