It had been just a few weeks since the staff had deemed Melody sane enough to be released from the secure ward. Sure, she had killed someone, but it really hadn't been entirely her fault... And she had proven to be not as dangerous as they had originally thought. She had, however, been going crazy in there. She was certain that it was only a matter of time before Caden bumped into her... And then... She wasn't sure what would have happened. But she never did see him. She could only think that either they purposefully kept them away from each other, or the higher risk patients were just on a different schedule than she had been. Either way, she was thankful that her time in lock-up had ended. After all, she hadn't meant to hurt anyone... And yet... She couldn't shake this prodding feeling. This feeling inside of her that told her she had loved every second of it. The taste of fresh blood, the power it had given her, even the power over the man as she drained his life from him... She kept suppressing these thoughts, these feelings because she simply couldn't believe that she would ever feel something like that. She had never hurt someone before in her life... How could she possibly want to do it more? Then again, there was a monster inside her. Caden had made sure of that when he had turned her. The vampire inside her wanted fresh blood, and it would turn her into a monster to get it.
Melody had needed to clear her head. She was being watched almost 24/7 by guards since she was let out of the secure facility, but she had managed to slip away. It was easy to do when you were much quieter and faster than most of the guards around. She wasn't going anywhere to hurt anyone, though that was what they probably assumed. She just needed some time alone. She found her way to the sensory garden... A place she often loved to come for the sights and smells of all the life and greenery. It reminded her of home in some way... Home before Caden. She found her way to a bench facing a small fountain. She had always loved the water. So delicate and necessary... Yet so violent and deadly. It was truly beautiful. Her blue eyes watched the fountain as her mind drifted a bit. She was so much more broken than when she had first arrived... She thought back on everything that had happened since her arrival... And how quickly after coming out of hiding, Caden had found her. She wondered why she had even tried in the first place. After all, living alone in the forest for the rest of all eternity really wasn't that bad... Was it?
