Ana might be going a little overboard. Halloween was approaching and it was her favorite time of year, so she had gone to the closest morgue and bought a few bits and pieces she wanted to use to decorate her greenhouse and classroom for the holiday. It had had to be human, however, not just for her own sake, but so it could be fed to the people-eaters after the holiday was over. As long as the flesh was fresh when she brought it with her in a big cooler, it would stay fresh until after she no longer needed it. That was like the easiest part of all this, putting a preservation spell on her projects. Keep the body parts from decaying so they'd still taste fresh when November rolled around. Maybe it was a little macabre of her to be bringing a cooler full of body parts to the grounds, but it wasn't like she could really decorate at home like this. Not just because the dogs would freak out, but because anyone stopping by might freak out a little bit if they came across a severed hand just moving around on its own. Ana had found someone willing to watch the dogs for her while she went to campus after dark. This sort of thing just felt more natural for her to be doing after dark, not because she was ashamed, it was more to do with it being the right kind of mood for it all. Putting the cooler down on a table, Ana placed her bag next to it and gently pulled out a glass jar, glass box and a bag of dried herbs she needed to make this work and put her bag down. Opening the cooler, she moved the few bits and pieces around so she'd get a little on everything before she drizzled her herbs into the cooler and said a few words, watching as it was absorbed into the flesh. There. Now nobody could complain about it smelling because it wouldn't be decaying and she had more time to make this work. She did kind of need to head to the dorms and look for a vampire or that guy that kept dying and coming back soon anyway, but for right now she just wanted one thing to be done with. Before she did anything else, Ana put on a pair of rubber gloves, just so she wouldn't get any residual blood on her hands. Gently pulling the heart out of the cooler, Ana held it in her hands while she worked her magic, bringing it close to her face as she literally breathed new life into it. "See? Just because you're broken or your body is dead, doesn't mean there's no use for you anymore," she cooed, running her finger gently along the heart before she eased it into the jar. "I'm going to find a much more suitable home for you for the holidays, but for right now, I just have to do little bits and pieces at a time so you'll be safe here," she said, smiling slightly as she put the lid on and placed the jar safely down on the ground. Ana hadn't been paying attention to her surroundings while she was working, so if anyone had walked in and watched her, she really wouldn't have been aware. (Open to anyone, but EZRA TITUS LELLOUCHE has first crack at it if Amy wants it ^^)

Ezra loves holidays. It doesn't matter what the holiday is but he tends to throw himself into them whole heartedly. It's another reason he wants to find himself a master before christmas comes around, the Jinn adores spoiling people he cares about and that list of people keeps growing now that he's here in a place full of people who don't find him insane.. Or a weirdo. The next holiday coming up was halloween and so the baby vamp had been trying out costumes for the past week, playing around with make up and clothes, raidding lost property for things he could use. He'd even tried to use the blood from bloodbags to make what he thought were scary little effects.. It's hard to dress up for hallowee when you're actually aready one of the 'monsters'. He can't exactly go as a vampire.. He is a vampire. It's just not the same.
Speaking of being a vampire, it meant his senses are a little stronger than usual and so he scented the flesh that Ana had bought into the greenhouse before he even knew that she was there. Truthfully he figured that somebody had made somebody else into a snack and he wanted to investigate that.. He doesn't like getting into trouble himself and he sure as hell doesn't want to get hurt again, but he's also ridiculously curious and so he found himself smoking through a crack in the glass at the back corner of the greenhouse.. Wasn't this the teacher's greenhouse? He sure as hell hoped that she wasn't dead, there's no way he'll be taking the blame for that.
That isn't what he came across though.
Ez materialised slowly, blinking dark eyes as the woman handled a heart in her hands. An actual heart, it smelt human, he's pretty damn sure of that. Made him feel a little bit queasy actually, he hoped she wasn't going to take a bite or something disgusting. That'd be just too much for this early in the night. However she'd done something and his eyes widened a little when the heart moved, pumping in her hand like it was still working suddenly. And then she stuck it in a jar.
"That's so fucked up!" He exclaimed suddenly, sounding amazed and forgetting for a moment that he was supposed to be sneaky. Before he knew it he'd used his speed to stand near her, crouched a little to look into the jar, "I love it, what did you do?"

While she imagined some people who saw ghosts did their best to protect themselves for Halloween, it was the one time of year her powers were at their strongest and it had always excited her. Sure, she didn’t want to bring people back from the dead just for kicks on that one day of the year, but it was amusing to reanimate dead tissue and freak people out. Besides, around here she could decorate properly and creep out a few people. She might lend the foot to the student bar when she was done, but right now she was just working on making things live again. Ana jumped slightly when she heard the exclamation. At first she thought it was a ghost materializing, until she remembered her greenhouse was ghost-proofed. She automatically activated the spell when she was in there, so she’d be able to teach classes there too, but she had promised that lady-ghost to take the spell down when she wasn’t there so she could spend time there. It was a good compromise. “It’s a fucked up holiday?” she replied questioningly, shrugging slightly before she was grinning. The Necromancer studied the vampire for a moment when he was crouching near the jar like that. She was a little surprised to find someone who seemed to appreciate her gifts solely for how holiday-appropriate they were. “I made it live again,” she replied frankly. “Dead things are kinda my thing. Wanna help me make a hand crawl across the desk all by itself?” she asked. If he was already going to be around and be fascinated, it seemed best to ask if he wanted to help out rather than just do stuff herself. Because he definitely could help make it a lot easier on her. “I mean, I only got a few tidbits from a morgue, but I had to start somewhere.”

Ez kind of believes in ghosts, but because he can't see them or do anything with them, aka talk or convince them to do dastardly deeds then he's not too bothered by them in his day to day life. He's more interested in the rest of the monsters related to halloween. He wouldn't mind meeting some more vampires, but.. Well, the vampires that might be wandering around would most likely be fake ones, so he'd wait. Maybe hang out with some shifters, or some fellow addicts, he might be able to get a little somethin' somethin' on the side then. That'd make for a great halloween. He briefly wondered what Wolf was up too, that guy was always up for a laugh and a light nibbling. Good halloween plans.. He was a little too old for trick or treating now.
"It's a bloody brilliant holiday," he said with a grin in return, however he was still looking into the jar, lightly tapping the side of it as if he expected the heart to lurch towards the glass or something ridiculous. It was pretty damn cool though, he kind of wanted to see if it could be used as some kind of morbid straw if he plopped it into a cup of blood. Gross, but hey, he's a hungry, growing vamp, "valentine's is all about hearts and stuff, but crack this open then and you'd get sectioned." Probably. Nobody wants actual hearts for valentines, they want the little heart shaped cards and chocolates.. Not that he could eat chocolates now. Ugh, Valentines would be miserable. And easter.
Did it bother him that he didn't know whether he was allowed in here or not? It was out of lesson hours after all. No, not really, he wasn't that bothered, he looked quite relaxed actually, more fascinated than worried about anything at all.
He glance at her all wide eyed for a moment when she asked him if he wanted to help but then laughed and left the jar alone to stand back up with a grin, "do I want to help make a hand crawl across a desk on it's own? If I ever answer no to that question then there's something seriously wrong with me," he moved a little closer and perched weightlessly on the nearest stool like a good little student, "you visited a morgue and everything? This is going to be awesome," the last part of that sentence was spoken quieter, mostly to himself more than anything. She could make dead things live again. The connection between necromancer and him being a vampire and therefore technically dead didn't occur to him.
He wanted to see magic involving dead body parts. Who else can say they've had front row tickets, or even helped with something like that?!

“I love it,” she admitted. “From a few days beforehand until the Day of the Dead, my powers are at their peak. Seems a shame not to celebrate such a holiday.” Maybe if she’d just been more bothered by ghosts during this time of year and nothing else happened, she wouldn’t have enjoyed it so much, but everything she did was just so much easier to do so that was a good reason to celebrate as far as she was concerned. “Valentines’s overrated anyway.” Especially since she didn’t have her husband around to spend the day with. Not that they’d celebrated it anyway, or that she’d ever really bee much of a romantic, she just preferred the other holidays to a sappy one. Ana didn’t really care who used the greenhouse outside of hours as long as they didn’t leave the place an utter mess. Besides, she was excited about having a little help potentially so she could get her decorations done today. “There’s usually a little something something for you addicts in here,” she told him, having noticed the band on him earlier. “Just leave a little for the ectomancer, and don’t trash the place and you’re welcome to it too.” As long as he left some weed for Sorrel, it was all good. Sure, the man needed to learn better ways to deal with his abilities, and he didn’t know she was the one leaving things for him here, but it wasn’t the worst thing she could bring and leave laying around. It wasn’t like her poisons after all. “Yeah, there are a few people here who eat human flesh, so figured I could have my fun for the holidays and they’d get a meal after,” she said, chuckling slightly. “Seemed less wasteful that way and more ethical than chopping bits off of the more human staff.” Ana figured the Wendigo in particular would appreciate something fresh. Or as fresh as reanimated tissue could get at least. “Not quite a full blown zombie, but you make due with what you can get your hands on to make Halloween as spooky as possible.” Holding out her hand, Ana smiled at Ezra. “Friends call me Ana. You might feel a little woozy, but I’m going to need a little bit of your life-force to get the rest done. Don’t worry, your vampirism will prevent any lasting damage and a little blood afterwards should help you recover almost immediately.” It seemed fair to warn him before she drained anything from him when he seemed so eager to help out. She wanted ideas about where she could put these things after all. “And when we’re all done, I’m sure you know all the right places to put things to scare the crap out of an unsuspecting passerby.”

"You're the necromancer, ain't ya?" He knew about her, of course he did. Had some people tell him that she could use her magic to control the undead, which included him? He can't see how she can do that, he's dead, technically, but he still has a mind of his own. Unless Vaith puts down his great big foot and cages him in with a bunch of orders. But he somehow doubts that's going to happen anytime soon, he barely gets told to do anything as is. Something he's pretty damn sure has to do with his limited powers right now, he's stuck in a rut of feeling absolutely useless. Ez just blinked chocolate brown eyes at her because he had no idea what to say about valentines. He'd always liked it, not that he'd ever celebrated it but.. He liked the idea. He never thought any woman would dislike it. Possibly mildly sexist of him but psh.
He wasn't going to try and convince her it's nice to get chocolates and secret admirers.
She grew drugs in her greenhouse? That surprised him somewhat, right now all he could smell was the dead flesh and the strong scent of dirt so he hadn't noticed that sharp but muted aroma of marijuana straight away, however, now that he'd been informed it was there his gaze found the plants towards the back and he grinned. Oh yeah, he could make some really good use out of that.. Maybe even sell a little himself so he can grab some stronger stuff too. At least he knew he wouldn't be leaving here empty handed tonight, "how'd you get away with growing that here?" He asked, he didn't care how, just pleased she had.
"You can make zombies?" He asked suddenly, the Jinn lit up at that idea, there were so many possibilities, "does Manson have a graveyard? Can you raise dead supernaturals and make them shamble around the grounds all creepy like? They aren't contagious though right, like, no chance of some zombie apocalpyse?" Though he can't deny that would be pretty damn awesome to watch occur over the grounds. Manson must be equipped to deal with something like that and there must be some kind of cure to zombieism if they have witches and a necromancer on the staff.. He just wants to see a zombie.
Ez took her hand without a second thought, he's a subservient species anyway and if she asked him for something he'd do it automatically and then think 'wait what?' afterwards. It's not an addiction as such, but the longer he goes without somebody telling him what to do the easier it gets to sneak an order in and for him to follow it without hesitation. Not that he's all too aware of this, but it may be why he's becoming tetchier than usual. He's a slave, a mouthy one but one regardless and he hasn't been utilised in a while. "That's okay, got a bloodbag in my rucksack so I'll top myself up so go for it," energy is energy, he's not sure on what she's actually going to do but hey, it'll be awesome and it won't hurt because she's staff, she's not allowed to hurt him.
"And yeah," he added with a slightly wicked, if not mischievous grin, "I know exactly what to do with it all."

Ana nodded at the question. “That would be me,” she added as an after thought. Had she been more powerful, she had no doubt that she would’ve easily have been able to control vampires. Her ancestors had after all, but she was kind of glad she didn’t have that ability. Vampires were some of the easiest people for her to be around really, because after a certain age they hardly noticed if she siphoned life from them for her own gains. It was easier to do that when they didn’t have to worry about her taking over their bodies. “Sorry,” she said when she noticed the look on his face after her comment about Valentines. “Morbid hobbies and romantic chocolates, don’t really go hand in hand.” In a way, it was a shame she hadn’t become a medical examiner, it would’ve suited her just fine, but her passion had been for other things. The plant she had in the greenhouse was really small compared to the one she had at home, but it would be enough to give the most needy something if she couldn’t bring them something. “It’s a legitimate medical plant,” she answered honestly. “And it’s not the worst thing people can get their hands on. I keep the dangerous stuff at home. Useful for my poisons and all.” Ana wasn’t worried about people getting into her poisons though, she didn’t bring them with her to work after all and hardly anyone here had been to her place. “My greenhouse, tiny plant can easily be hidden.” Well, zombies was a loose term in this case. “Not like the blockbuster zombie movies, if I make a zombie, they’re entirely under my control and don’t go around eating people.” It seemed like a good idea to clarify that point. “Probably wouldn’t be impossible to raise a few if we find some, but I probably wouldn’t be able to go home until I let go of control again, much less work with itty bitty parts.” She wasn’t worried about a hand or a heart running away when she wasn’t around, they could be contained. Ana was delighted with how easy it was to get him to help her out. She was just glad this wasn’t going to hurt either of them. Taking just as little as she needed she touched her free hand to the dead hand and chuckled as it jerked alive. “Into the box you go,” she said, picking it up and placing it in a box before it could crawl off the desk. “Isn’t it a beauty?” she asked, tapping the side gently and watching the hand tap it from the inside.

"Knew it," he said with a toothy little grin, still paying attention to the heart in the jar. Who else would be able to do something like this? Necromancer's were the only ones he knew who could give life back to the dead, which technically meant himself too? He wasn't going to ask that though because there were some things that were just a little too intrusive. Also, with his enhanced hearing now he was quite sure that his own heart beating properly within his own chest would be almost deafening. Would be weird, it was almost worth asking if it were something she could do but.. He'd skip.
"Oh.. Uh, don't need to apologise," he said as he glanced at her somewhat sheepishly, "but, I'm nineteen.. Never really spent a valentines with nobody so I guess I'm just an introverted romantic wanting somebody at least to lavish attention on," he tapped lightly on the glass of the heart again before leaving it alone and standing to his feet, "I like spoiling people.. S'in my blood," he spared her a cheeky little wink, "but let's keep that in this greenhouse yeah? If you don't tell I won't tattle about your little herbology experiment over there." Not that he would anyway, but he doesn't exactly want people (specifically an icy little bitch) knowing that he'd quite like a little bit more romance in his life. Kinda makes him feel a little uncomfortable even mentioning it to Ana, but hey, she was apologising to him for not liking Valentine's, the least he could offer her is an explanation for why he does like it.
"Tiny plant that'll grow proper big if you let me help nurture it," he pointed out as he flashed over to the thing and ran his fingers over the buds that were growing there. He plucked a little off, it wasn't quite fully ready but neither had he had a smoke in the last few days and anything was better for nothing at this stage. He was back beside Ana in the next moment with a lopsided smile on his lips, "just a little taster."
It was a good thing she couldn't cause an apocalypse really, on second thought he would most likely dislike it if somebody he knew ended up a shambling corpse. Still, it would be amusing for her to set zombies across the grounds to scare some people.. But then her zombies might also get eaten by some defensive shifters. Or ripped apart by vampires. That might not be so good.
He felt barely nothing when she siphoned off whatever she did, perhaps a little twinge of hunger in the back of his throat, fuelled by a little lethargy but other than that it was barely noticeable. It did mean that whilst she did her thing he rummaged through his backpack for the bloodbag at the bottom and he bit into it to sip away as she brought the hand to life, something he vastly enjoyed doing, "that's super neat," he commented, leaning a little closer to take a look as she tapped the glass and it tapped back, "so.. If I released this into the library it'd crawl around independently?" He could think of other places to drop it too, but the less she knew the better.. He'd film any reactions to show her though.

It was refreshing to find someone so excited about what she could do. It made her instantly like this vampire. She was happy to entertain him and just share her joy about what she could do, even if she reckoned it was mostly because it was highly holiday appropriate. “Oh to be young and appreciative of the simple things in life,” she teased when she learned he was just nineteen and just wanted to lavish someone with love and affection on Valentine’s Day. “You’re young, in a time when it’s perfectly acceptable to find your own partner to spend your life with, cherish it. Bring flowers and chocolates and all the overly romantic things you can think of and go wild,” she told him, winking at him. “Maybe even adopt a thing from my time, handwritten notes rather than those mass produced cards. Everyone should celebrate each and every holiday however they want, don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. If someone doesn’t like a holiday, just maybe give them space that particular holiday and find someone who enjoys it as much, if not more, than you do.” While she wasn’t one for the holiday herself, she didn’t want to discourage people from celebrating it if they enjoyed it. To her, telling people not to celebrate a certain holiday or celebrate it how they saw fit was like someone telling people what to wear. It wasn’t always a good thing. “Don’t worry about it. There are no ghosts around to blather either so your secret is safe. As for my little project, well, anyone with a knack for growing something out of nothing could’ve grown that plant and if anyone else on staff finds out about it, that’s exactly what I’ll tell them it probably was,” she said, winking at him. She didn’t feel bad about pinning it on some unnamed fae on the grounds, it was harmless after all, she’d just rather not lose her job over it. She needed to be here. For how long, she couldn’t say, but it was important to her right now. Ana nodded at what he said before he flashed over to the plant. “I wouldn’t be much of a Horticulture teacher if I didn’t encourage people to nurture plans,” she said when he was back, smiling at him. If he wanted to help out, she was more than happy to let him. He was absolutely delightful. “And if you decide to make a little money on the side, I won’t stop you. I’m here to help people however I can, and sometimes people just need a way to relax.” Ana herself liked relaxing herself, with or without a little help. “Others just need something to keep them busy.” Looking at the hand, Ana had an idea for something. “Right now, it does whatever I tell it to do. I could tell it to just crawl about exploring the library, or I could bind it to you temporarily, so it’ll do whatever you want it to do, go where you want, freak out whoever, I’ll let you decide. All you would have to do was think about where to send it.” That seemed more than fair.

His boyfriend and the one he'd been steadily falling head first for had been taken for some kind of trip that had lasted entirely too long for Ez's liking. He misses the half fae and can't even smother that feeling in the drugs he'd become so accustomed too. It was sad really, even the mobile phone that Ez had given to Ky had gone out of service, broken perhaps? He knew the guy had a temper, or maybe he'd just dropped it. Either way, he hadn't heard from him in a while and it was definitely getting to him, he was beginning to wonder if he'd been dumped and forgotten about. Not a good feeling for anybody, let alone somebody like him. If he wasn't back by the time February rolls around then he won't have anybody to spoil when Valentines hit. He certainly wouldn't be giving his sire a bunch of things, the Jinn knows where he stands there and he's learnt that his little quips and comments are usually unwanted. Being smacked is a pretty good indicator or that. And it was smacks, not spanks, he knows the difference quite well.
He gave her a slightly lopsided grin and nodded though, she was giving good advice, it was hardly her fault that he didn't really have anybody he could be overly enthusiastic with about shit. Or the ability to do what he wanted to be able to do for people. His histrionic personality flaws were kicking him up the backside recently with all of that 'useless' crap, "I'll do that. Christmas is first anyway, got to scrape some money together to get some presents for them before worrying about flowers and chocolates and .. Well. Whatever else people do on valentines." Romantic stuff.. He's not entirely sure, but he has a phone. He has google. He's pretty sure there'll be like 101 ways to make valentine's awesome and all that kind of rubbish everywhere. Really, holidays are just a time to be shown you're appreciated and to show others they are too. He likes to appreciate people.
No ghosts about. Well, that was good. Was there usually ghosts around? Ez doesn't need to know that so he won't ask her to verify anything. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to do anything without wondering if there's something watching him ever again. He knows he has a nice ass and all but there's a limit to his confidence. For somebody who spies on other people a lot he does not like the idea of being spied on himself, "I'll make that thing bloom," he promised with a slight smug little smile, he was sure that he could do that. If something will benefit him then he's more than likely to do it, "you reckon I could plant a couple more in time? Won't make this a farm, but like.. I can make it discreet still?" Worth a shot.
He drained the last of his bloodbag with a slurpy little sound and deposited it into what looked like a bin..
He pulled out a little tin from his pocket and brought his legs up to sit cross legged in the air as he started to work on rolling himself a sizeable joint. He has the papers, the little bit of tobacco, everything he needs to roll himself one up and so he worked on doing that occassionally looking up at the Ana because she was still talking and he honestly didn't want to miss anything that she might do. It was fascinating to him, so when he brought the rolled joint to his lips to lick the paper closed he paused for a moment before licking it and sealing the thing, "wait. So you can make it respond to me? Really?" His grin did little to hide how excited that prospect was, "seriously? That's beyond awesome." He tucked the joint behind his ear, "how do you do that? Y'need more energy?" He offered out his hand just in case.

Christmas. Right. Another holiday that seemed a little out of place to her. Sure, they had celebrated it with Emilia for their daughter’s sake, but it had been more about the time spent with the family and enjoy their time together than any religious aspect of it all. But then again, a necromancer and a fallen angel really had no right celebrating for the reasons everyone else did as far as she was concerned. “If you’re planning on decorating anywhere, you could leave a note for one of the fae groundskeepers with requests, I’m sure they’ll be happy to help you out with bits and pieces.” She figured the ones able to just make something grow in places might not mind making things like mistletoe or Christmas flowers. “I’m sure Cairo wouldn’t mind helping you with cookies for either holiday, and I could help you with scented soaps or lotions if that’s something someone would like. I do better when my hands are busy.” Everything didn’t have to cost money after all, it was just about finding the right people who wanted to help you out. “Sometimes people appreciate homemade gifts, and if you make good use of the staff in the form of asking to learn how to do something, it wouldn’t cost you money to make things either.” It was just a suggestion, if he wanted to buy things, she wasn’t going to discourage him. Well, this had taken a turn she hadn’t expected. She had only brought a little sapling with her here originally in order to easily help some of the residents, but if someone wanted to take care of it properly and make it into more plants that seemed more than fair. “Well, if you end up having to use one plant to make another, that would definitely get you good grades in my class. Because honestly, if you can make that plant bloom and multiply, you’ve mastered most of the class anyway. Just don’t make it obvious to the rest of the population and you can do whatever you want with it.” If he could be discreet about it, she really wasn’t going to stop him. “If I had an immortal attached to my touch at all times, I could technically control a vampire too. Since I would absolutely hate if that was done to me, I prefer to stick to only using my powers to manipulate dead flesh. Occasionally ward against ghosts like this place is while I’m here, or bind spirits to objects. This,” she said, gesturing to the hand, “is where my true passion lies.
