where is my mum It has been almost two months and still the little black fox stayed in the exact same place where he was dropped off by his mother. The nights were getting colder and his made shift den he made was no longer suitable for keeping him warm. Food was also hard to get since the grubs he was capturing weren’t at the surface anymore and digging for them was too exhausting.
He went to the top of the hill as his body was showing he was beginning to show underweight posture. He raises his head up and barked loudly calling for his mum. He did this process for two hours until the cold got too much for him and he left it for another night.
His body was ice cold and he was shivering. Lack of muscle coverage was making it harder for him to keep warm. He went back to the hedge and slowly curled into a tight ball, as he tried to get some rest. His ears were focused on what was ahead and around him. He kept a hear out for his mother too, but she would never come.

T here are types of meat that Zev would quite readily eat warmed but practically raw, mostly red meats. The meat he carried in a little baggie right now was raw chicken and he didn't really like the scent of it, he'd rather have chicken herbed up and cooked perfectly. But this wasn't for him, it was the fox cub that had been watching Fabian during those rains not too long ago, he was under the impression that the boy couldn't hunt for himself other than those tiny little grubs and so he had kept leaving little scraps out for him whilst the security team tried their best to lure him inside. He thinks the kid had been getting the food he'd been leaving, it had alays gone missing but then there were other shifters on the grounds that could have munched it up. And probably wild foxes too. He was only aiming to feed the one fox. Following his calls wasn't a difficult thing to do, but they fell silent before Zev reached the kid. By that point it didn't matter though, he had Ranger's scent and he followed it with ease to where the cub curled up beneath the bush. He wasn't looking his best, but Zevren wouldn't fuss like a mother hen, instead he just sat himself crossed legged on the floor beside the bush and started to undo the bag in his hand with the meat in it. The kid needed food. Thankfully, because of the recent rains at least he knew drinking water would be in decent supply. The lake alone was a good source too, come to think of it. "I've got dinner," he spoke jovially enough, as if he'd just sat down next to a friend rather than a shivering kid, "freshly caught from the kitchen's before anybody else could get their mits on it," he unwrapped the chicken fillets and placed them onto the bag before nudging it a little closer to Ranger with a smile, the bag was a plate for the meat, "there's more inside if you want it. And even if you dont 'want' it, you look like you need it, Kid."He didn't ask if there had been any sign of his mum, the answer was obvious. She had either abandoned her kid here or the worst had happened. Either way, he felt for Ranger, he was too young for either of those things.

I want my mum Ranger stayed in his little ball some more. Until his ears picked up the sound of another nearer by. He was joyful for moment thinking it was his mum, and he was about to go and greet her. But he was saddened to see it was the wolf guy he met before, and he hid the fact he was disappointed but he was ungrateful for his company.
He watched him with his bright amber gold eyes, which were priominted due to his dark coat. He watched him as he got him some food for him. Even though Ranger noticed food was left outside, he never took it as it wasn’t his to eat. He looked into his eyes as he waited for permission to take it. Since the bag was being nudge to him. He took the nudge as permission and he grabbed the chicken. He is really clean as he ate, even though he was starving he didn’t rush and remained shred the meat in a delicate fashion.
It took him awhile to chew as his teeth were still the puppy teeth and he found it hard to chew it properly. After nearly fifty minutes he finally finish and licked his lips and paws clean, as he was safastied. He kept watch on the man sitting down “thank you” he was always polite and grateful. “I don’t know the place looks really scary to me. Also I was told to remain here and not move” his obedience to his mother was really strong, even though she would never come back.
“My mum could be back any moment now” he was shivering, as the dust was irritating his eyes as they were beginning to run as the tears fell as he was worried about his mum. “I want my mum”
OMG so sad ♡

H e was really quite a patient person and so as the kid ate the chicken he was more than happy to just sit there and enjoy the scenery. He'd written off this time on his schedule as a double appointment with Ranger, so he was technically still working whilst not letting anybody down at the same time. This was important, the kid's mum wasn't going to be coming back at this rate and he had to tread carefully in order to get the boy to realise that on his own time. "It's a little scary from the outside.. You should see the playground though, it's made just for people your age. Nice and bright, slides, swings, other kids like yourself." Well, not quite like him, Zev is pretty certain there are no other fox cubs about. But there were other child shifters, other child orphans too.. His gaze looked over Ranger curiously and he noticed the shivering. Zev ran hot most of the time, his metabolism made him warm even when it's snowing outside and so he shrugged off his jacket without really thinking about it for more than a moment, Zev doesn't like clothes at the best of times so shedding his jacket for a kid wasn't really a big deal. He leant over to drape the thing over the kid. "I have an idea," he added, making it sound like a little secret, "you see that little box up there?" He motioned up to one of the many motion cameras that was securely attached to a tree and blinking it's little light to show that it was on, "there are people watching the forest, my mate, the man who played with the water, he's watching. How about you come inside with me? We find you somewhere warm to curl up and when your mum comes back the cameras will know, the guards will tell me and we'll come out to meet her. I'm sure your mum wouldn't want you to be cold and hungry, would she? She'd want you safe and warm."... His mum wasn't coming. He would tell that to him in time, but he needed to get him warm and fed first. His safety was important.

is she coming back Ranger kept on shaking more as he was still ice cold. He slowly watched the other guy, and he slowly accepted the movement from him. He knew he wouldn’t hurt him, and he did accept rubbing against his leg. He did feel strange with a jacket amongst his body though, and he friendly licked his hand. He wouldn’t dream of biting anyone. It was bad. His mother told him he must not bite anyone, who was showing kindness. Instead you should great they kindness and affection with love.
He followed his hand and saw a box like thing. He was still pretty much scared of leaving. He wasn’t being difficult. Just unsure as the place was strange and there were strangers. “I am too scared too” he started to reply. He was terrified of being alone. He was so tired , and he wasn’t able to sleep due to the cold was keeping him up all night. His ears twitch. “He will see her?” He asked as he knew his mum was very smart, and he hoped she would return soon.
Slowly he got up, even though his legs were like jelly. He slowly walked towards the male, and affectionately snuggled into him. He could feel his warmth right away. It might be due to him being an alpha that he trusts him enough to cuddle into him. He placed his head onto his lap, and enjoying the warmth from the male. He missed his closeness as his mother would have done this, he watched the sky as he yawned.
“No she wouldn’t want me cold and starving. I am just not good at making a nesting spot and hunting is hard. The cold weather making the easy food go deep underground and it trying to dig for long period. I am too slow for rabbits and birds” he was still learning how to kill those when his mother went missing, he didn’t know why she left him here. It was like she knew he would be found and protected, until she was able to come back.
“She is coming back isn’t she?” He asked and looked at the male in the eyes, wanting the truth. Even though he wouldn’t like the truth at all.

Z ev just smiled a little at the lick to his hand but pulled back as he wasn't about to go petting somebody who was as much human as they were animal.Or so he assumed anyway, it wasn't as if he'd seen the kids human form and as far as he's aware he hasn't shifted in view of the cameras either or they would have gone out to investigate the unknown sighting of a child on the grounds. He did listen when he said he was scared though but there was no use telling him not to be, new place were scary to young people, especially if they'd been abanoned by their parents in this strange place and told not to move. In Zev's opinion the woman was ridiculously stupid, if she had any idea what this place was then she should have informed somebody before leaving the boy here. There were a lot of dangerous residents on the grounds who could have made a meal out of him. "He most definitely will, there are cameras all over this place, motion trackers, to make sure everybody here is kept as safe as possible.. If she comes back onto the grounds, we'll know." To keep people safe and also keep the dangerous residents under scrutiny at all times. It's rare that people ever get away with their bad behaviour here, somebody is usually watching. If not then they have plenty of staff members with decent senses of smell and sight who can figure out how most disasters in this place have occurred. He lifted his hand up a little off of his lap when the kid came closer to him and seemed to affectionately cuddle up to him. This wasn't something that the counsellor was used too, as a member of staff he does try to care for the people but then there is a limit as to how much attention he can give to a particular student, attachments aren't for the best long term. His responsibities to residents and students end when his shift down.. Most of the time, he can't help caring, but he can't get too involved for the sake of everybody. Still, he pulled over his jacket to place over the fox cub again, trying to warm him up as much as possible. He wasn't going to just pick him up and take him inside, he doesn't want to scare him.. "I think she wants too," he answered Ranger quietly, "whether or not she can right now is another matter.." He trailed off but then smiled, moving the conversation on, "let's find you somewhere comfortable and warm to settle down inside. Out of the wind and any more potential rain. No need to hunt when there'll be people to bring you any food you need. And you'll get to play and make friends until she gets back." If she gets back. "Doesn't that sound better than curling up under a bush?"

notes here. words: #### | Ranger stayed by the male’s legs, Knowing he was safe and wouldn’t hurt him at all. He snuggled deeply into him more. Using the warmth which was generated from the legs into his fur and it was so lovely. It reminded him of his mother and how he curled into her more deeply. Ranger can’t remember match on being human, he has lived his life as fox since he and his mother was on the run, he didn’t know what as his mother never told him.
He heard something something and it made him jump with excitement, as he went to go towards it. But he was saddened to see it was simply a squirrel headed back to his tree. He whine softly as he curled around again. He trusted what the male said was true, he wasn’t sure he saw him on the camera as he been back and forth looking for food at the time. Getting wet was something he didn't want as he hated it, even though he enjoyed the male knocking the bench over. That was so exciting for him.
“No I don’t want to get going again. I hate getting wet and it makes me cold. I all ready cold” he looked at him, with his bright amber eyes, while he tilted his head to the side. “Ok I trust you. I go with you” he said even though his body was way too cold for him to move right now “But I am frozen stiff, I can’t move” he thought he would mention that, as he didn’t want the guy to believe he was being difficult when he wasn’t

Z ev idly placed his hand on the fox's head, stroking it down his back to leave it there, just trying to warm the tiny little creature with his own excessive body heat. The counsellor wasn't particularly cuddly with his patients, but this fox cub was in danger and could possibly be on the verge of hypothermia so he could break his little rule for today. Just for today. He didn't so much as tense when Ranger jumped but his gaze did raise to see the squirrel running up a tree. It was just a little critter.. It didn't mean much for him to pick the fox up, Ranger weighed very little and he was stronger than most anyway so as he stood with the cub in his hands there wasn't much of a strain, "don't worry," he smiled as he tucked his jacket around the kid and started walking off towards the dormitories, he was certain there was a room in the youth wing that he could assign to Ranger. He doesn't think that he's a danger to anybody or anyone and so he could stay there without a problem. He'd have access to the school, the playground, the art room, the music room.. "We'll look after you here until your mum comes back. Maybe even teach you some new skills? Have you ever done finger painting?" He has no idea how old Ranger actually is, he's ever seen his human form and it's difficult to put an age to a fox. He didn't stop walking until he reached the dorms where he used his wristband to open the door and enter the more brightly coloured hallways of the kids unit, "when was the last time you slept in a real bed?" He asked, "with your own duvet and your own cushion? I can even pick you up your own teddy bear if that's something you think you'd like?"He'd let him answer as he walked, he'd be getting him some food regardless of what he wanted. A selection of cold meats most likely so he can pick throughout the night. At least here he'd be safe. And warm.

Ranger felt safe with the male. He didn’t know he was an alpha around here, and his senses knew to obey him. His mother had taught him to respect others and to listen to, even when she gave another word. He wanted her to come home now. His body was wrapped in the jacket, and he knew the scent. He can also smell another, but he wouldn’t ask that for now, as his body was being carried into the building. Deep down Ranger wanted to jump down and flee, but it was cold and inside was warmth. He didn’t want to be out in the cold again. So he had to hold back the fear for now. The place was scary and he started to make the nervous fox noise, shaking the same time. He wasn’t sure about this, he looked around and took in the strange smells, until he heard him asking questions. “Sir I don’t have fingers. How could I do that?” Ranger haven’t left his fox form before, he was stuck and why would there be children here. The male was nice enough and he was pleased to have him looking after him. Even though some questions were really strange. There were things which he didn;t understand he was asked them. Bed… Durvet these things weren;t for animals like him. Was there something about Ranger he needed to know. “Foxes don;t have those things. We have dens” he corrected him. “Why are you asking me these things?” He asked and tilted his head to the side as he really curious about this. He never had a teddy due to the fact he was a wild animal “I never had those things” it was so confusing as he looked at him as the building was different and more childlike. Why were there children in this place anyway. ZEVREN ULRIC ADOLFO

Z ev blinked down at the cub he was carrying.. Did he not know that he had a human form? How could that even be possible? Even when he was younger and had troubles with shifting it sometimes just happened, he'd wake in the night to the uncomfortable feeling of his body shifting from one form to the other. If Ranger always found himself in fox form then that was something to look into as well. Maybe he just needed to feel comfortable and safe enough for the weaker human side to emerge. They'd find a way here, they always do, Ranger would be just fine. "Zevren, call me Zevren," he insisted quietly, "and if you can't shift into your other form, then you can do paw painting. It'll be a little more difficult to wipe clean after you're done but it'll be the same basics." Every kid likes painting, right? Even he likes painting when he gets the chance. Which isn't often, considering that his favourite pasttime is pretty much his husband, doing anything at all with him. With the rain coming a little more often recently it's been pretty enjoyable, he can't love the man anymore than when he's watching him have fun in the downpours. "You'll have those things now.. You're not just a fox, you're a person too, like me. I'm also a wolf," he sat on the edge of the bed and placed Ranger down onto the mattress more in the middle and took his jacket back. But he picked up the corner of the duvet and draped it over the small cub. He looked so much smaller on this bed now that he was covered up with only his little dark head poking out, "you're not in the wild now. So, while you're here you can have these things. You should have these things. What exactly did your mum teach you about yourself, kid?"

Ranger was so confused, he didn’t know nothing about being a human. He doesn’t remember that side of him very well, he just wanted to be back with his mum. Everything here was scary and it smelled strange. Ranger shaker deeply as he was placed onto the bed, he looked around as the room was too strange for him. He wanted the safety of a den not this. The young fox didn’t think he could ever settle in this place, he wasn’t sure he can sleep.
“Sorry. I can’t do this. This really strange for me, I don’t feel safe here” he wanted to trust the guy, but he was nervous in this place. “I am not human, I was born a fox and there no other form. I don’t have another form” he was arguing with the human side as he doesn't remember that part of him at all. He froze on the spot as the male placed something over his body, as he kept crying even though his eyes were a little sore from the dirt, and was weeping green discharged.
“mum only taught me the ways of the wild and what a wolf cub like myself should do. I was just learning to hunt before she disappeared” he looked down “She never coming back isn’t she?” he asked and place his head in between his paws.

"You've already done the hard part, you're inside. Nothing can hurt you here, the rain won't soak you and the cold wind won't pierce through your window." Which didn't open, so he wouldn't be able to crawl out of the thing and return to the cold hard ground that he'd been nesting on. No, he wasn't returning out there at all and if the kid's mother did end up turning up again they'd be capturing her to ask her a choice few questions about what the hell she thinks she's doing and why on earth she'd abandon her child without contacting anybody. She was an awful mother in Zevren's opinion. Ranger would be better off without her.
"You're human too," he corrected him with a warm smile and scratched the top of Ranger's head gently whilst the other hand tucked the blanket around the kid, "but it's alright not to remember, you're young and it'll come back to you in time now that you're somewhere safe and secure. This place is safe. Much safer than out there in the woods, I'm quite surprised you've survived on your own." Not really. They'd been keeping an eye on him but now that there was no sign of the mother and the weather was turning cold they had to bring him in so the elements didn't end up killing him.
He wasn't going back outside just because he wanted to sleep under a bush. It wasn't rational and there was no way that he was going to get his way just because he was a little worried.. The kid was cold and exhausted, he'd end up falling asleep soon because no body can sustain that kind of stress for long and then he'd feel better when he wakes. Fill his stomach and visit the playground, perhaps play with some other children. He could just have some fun, be a kid. It sounded like he needed it.
"Two seconds.." He murmured and stood from the edge of the bed to walk into the small bathroom attached to his room, running the hot tap for a moment so he could soak a flannel with warm water. He returned a few moments later and dabbed at the foxs eyes if he'd let him, "I can't say for sure, kid.. But no matter what happens, you have people to look after you here. This isn't the wild, it's a lot easier to live here. But don't worry, if she does come back then we'll bring her to you." Those eyes didn't look particularly healthy, but he's no doctor, so he'd send one of the kinder nurses to come and check him over after he's left. Taking him into the medical center would probably just panic him.

But music is reflection of self, we just explain it, and then we get our checks in the mail Every part of his body was shaking as this place was strange. Ranger appreciate the no rain. But the scents were all wrong. He wasn’t used to the scent of disinfectants which was used to keep the place clean. He wanted the smell of the forest, earth and dirt around him. Part of him was thinking this wasn’t a good idea, as he looked around. Seeing there were places for him to sneak through out. He can see everything was sealed and was trapped here. Something which the fox didn’t appreciated. He didn’t know how he could communicate with his mother if he was trapped here.
Ranger tilted his head to the side as he was confused on how he could be a human too. It never made sense for him. He was shaking more and let out some whines as he was so confused and scared. This place was really scary. “I was born in the wild. Why wouldn’t I survive on my own?” He asked. He didn’t think he was human and not sure why someone would say that. “I am not a human” he leaned into the touch as he enjoyed the pets. It was the only thing which made him feel safe, as it reminded him of his mother’s licks, and he missed her so much. Ranger didn’t know that the staff here were the ones which were feeding him, and kept an eye on him when he was outside.
Ranger didn’t know that he would never return to the place he called home for most of his life. The wild wasn’t going to be his home anymore. He was shaking more and even though he was tired, he was trying his hardest to fight the sleep. He wouldn’t allow his eyes to close longer than two seconds as he opened them and looked around him more. Ranger might be a fox, but he didn’t use the cunning nature for anything anymore, as he stayed put on the bed which was strange for him.
Ranger heard him saying something and he jumped off the bed to follow him. He knew he was the boss here in the room, and Ranger always respect the boss. He saw he was returning, and quickly hopped back on the strange object to show he didn’t move. He didn’t know what he was going to, until he felt the object in his hands started to wipe at his eyes. He cried out as it was painful for him, but he didn’t bite or fought against him. He knew he was trying to help, but his eyes were really sore. Once it was over, his eyes were red and very sore, even though he can heal in time, it was very painful and sore. The pain was stopping him for healing them on his own.
Placing his head onto the male’s leg, he started to slowly drifting off to sleep as his body really needed it and he felt safe enough, as he trusted the guy which was with him in the room.
