Quick Info:
Ray's pretty much your average, everyday hot tempered fire demon whose temper is even shorter than his height of five foot even. He is a slave/apprentice to an ancient water demon named, Jerry to whom he is in a romantic relationship with. Despite being a slave, Ray hates being treated like a pet. Ray has a fairly wide range of powers; which include: pyrokinesis, fire/heat immunity, a demon form, animal shapeshifting (his favorite animal form is a hyena), possession, agelessness, enhanced senses, and power/species sensing. In short, Ray can be a real asshole, the epitome of a male bitch. The main reason for this is simple, he gets mad way too easily at every little thing that bothers him and even when he is clearly mad and bothered by something or someone he will never openly admit it due to being too prideful. In fact if Ray were to represent three sins, They would be Wrath, Envy, and Pride. When he's mad it is usually best to just stay out of his way unless you like being burned to a crisp.
Truly he is overly emotional for a demon and the reason for that is easy enough to understand. He is a human born demon and instead of losing all his human emotions upon being turned as should have been the case; something went wrong with the transformation causing all of Ray's human emotions to remain in tact. His master warned Ray not to tell anyone that he is human born since human born demons are seen as illegitimate and are often looked down upon as a result. And so Ray won't willingly give such a secret up.
He also gets easily embarrassed and gets jealous whenever he catches someone he feels really close to talking with someone else. Indeed, even something as small and harmless as...talking is enough to set Ray off on a road to Envy. So becoming good friends with Ray would mean you would end up having to deal with his ugly, overly possessive, envious side.
You would also need to deal with his PTSD, his delusions, and with his bipolar disorder. Ray developed his PTSD after being raped and sexually assaulted as a small child by his own father; which only increased ten-fold after his father viciously murdered his mom in front of him. Ray was very close to his mom and as a child she would sing the, You Are My Sunshine lullaby to him every night before he went to sleep. Since her murder he hated that song since whenever he hears it he is reminded of that horrible day. Being forcibly restrained also triggers him since his father would often restrain him before raping him. Sometimes his PTSD gets so bad he can't so much as look at rope or a pair of handcuffs without getting triggered. Staff will do well as to keep that in mind before restraining him.
Ray likes to drink too and sometimes he likes to drink whenever he wants to feel numb. For the most part he is a happy drunk often laughing himself silly and rolling around the floor due to falling down a lot. One good thing about Ray is his loyalty as is the simple fact that he still does have some human emotion in him. Case in point, after feeling genuine love for his master rather than simple infatuation, Ray has openly stated that he would do anything for Jerry and he means anything as long as he knew it would make Jerry happy. Both Ray and Jerry have been betrayed by close friends and allies and so Ray hates traitors. He sees them as little more than spineless cowards. Ray knows only all too well what it feels like to be betrayed by someone you once knew and cared about and so he wouldn't wish such a hurt on anyone not even an enemy. Case in point, Ray likely won't betray anyone close to him unless they gave him a reason to. Due to the many betrayals from close friends and allies in the past, Ray has major trust issues. He does not trust others very easily and is very paranoid and suspicious of everyone as a result. For a level five killer who has killed so many people over the years both as a human and demon, Ray can be a very nice person when not provoked. Ray tries to save as many innocent people as he can and whenever he fails to do so he tends to blame himself even if it was in no way his fault.
Ray can't stand the cold...period and to him anything below eighty degrees F is freezing. So even in the summertime, Ray can be seen wearing long sleeves and hoodies as a result. One thing he likes doing is messing around with the thermostat when nobody is looking and fiercely guarding it. Other hobbies at Manson include: getting drunk, smoking, eating cigarettes, causing fires, burning things, torturing bugs/insects by burning them, kicking animals, fighting other patients/staff, playing with human technology, his IT classes, secretly enjoys painting (gets all embarrassed when confronted about it), his arts class, working out at the gym, exercising, reading, and possessing a willing host so he can do things he can't do without a soul. Speaking of having no soul. Ray doesn't have one; which makes him more than a little sad even downright depressed at times. He doesn't have a shadow, has no reflection, technology is annoyingly fickle around him, animals usually hate him (if your character is an animal of sorts they don't have to hate him if you don't want them to), and when freezing cold he doesn't give off his breath.
Ray is highly allergic to water outside his own body meaning he can cry and drink water without breaking out. However, getting hit with outside water even so much as a tiny drop is enough to cause him to break out in a painful rash making taking a bath a real pain in the ass for him. And don't even bother to ask him to accompany you swimming, he won't do it. However, if you're drowning and he likes you enough and nobody else is around to save you, Ray might jump in and pull you out. He is nice like that.
Friends:
Ray could always use some friends even if he tells you he doesn't especially since he is brand new to Manson and so doesn't really know anyone yet. He is currently a nervous, emotional wreck and could use a couple of really good friends about now.
If you can deal with Ray's mental issues and have some understanding and have a lot of patience then maybe just maybe the two of you could be friends. Thing about being Ray's friend is, Ray tends to become very possessive of his friends. So much so that he even gets all jealous if they so much as talk to someone else. However, he is also very protective and loyal to those close to him. Ray would do just about anything for his friends...even killing someone for them. Ray would also protect and defend his friends from harm.
As an alcoholic and smoker, Ray could always use some drinking and smoking buddies and because he is a pyrokinetic, I can see some of his fellow smokers without lighters asking him to light one up for them; which he won't mind doing if it means gaining another smoking buddy.
Neutral:
Ray will very likely have a lot of people in his new life at Manson that would fit under here. People that don't necessarily hate Ray, but they don't like him entirely either. Both Staff and fellow Residents can fit under here.
Enemies:
Ray is the type that makes enemies wherever he goes. Sometimes accidentally and other times, well they pissed him off and he just retaliated with a fire blast. As a vicious vigilante, Ray can't stand seeing innocent humans getting killed for food and sport. The whole idea of it just makes him sick. Yes, he killed humans too, but usually only because they were evil monsters themselves that killed innocents. If you find yourself under this category, it's either because you killed an innocent human in front of him especially if you only did so for sport or you insulted him and/or his friends and given his short temper that won't take much. Also Ray holds a grudge, so usually will take a lot before he will forgive you.
Lovers:
While Ray is currently in love with and is all obsessed with his master, Jerry, Jerry sadly is currently not a resident; which makes Ray really sad. It is only a matter of time before Ray starts crushing on somebody else. Ray is by and large Bisexual. So if at all interested and you feel a romantic relationship could work out between our characters feel free to claim this spot. Keep in mind as with his friends, Ray will eventually become possessive of anyone in this spot.
I did have this plot idea of Ray starting to see his new lover as Jerry and as a result starts treating him or her like Jerry and even dressing him or her up in clothes that he thinks Jerry would wear due to a combination of his delusional mind and the fact that he misses Jerry a lot.
