A part of her figured that if Cato spent enough time around a dog from it was a pup, it would get used to him and enjoy playing with him. Sadly, her dogs weren’t young enough anymore to find shifters anything but scary. They weren’t like the cat she’d seen at the baby reveal party that seemed perfectly fine with being surrounded by them. Maybe if they had enough time to get used to it and Cato fed them treats they’d accept him, but she didn’t want to put any of them through endless nervousness and barking until that point. Stress wasn’t good for anyone. “Plenty of new things to discover and new friends to make,” she said, smiling slightly at the thought. “Thankfully, you can still be fearless most of the time at old age too. I’ve lived two lifetimes already and not a whole lot scares me anymore.” Ana had really only been scared once since coming to Manson. But then anyone in their right mind would be scared if they were being chased by a leopard with a reputation for tearing into people. “I find it helps me to push whatever scares me aside and try to find a way to overcome it. Unless it’s needles. I’d rather be at risk of being mauled again than faced with needles.” She didn’t mind using they if she needed to for her craft, but she didn’t like them anywhere near poking her skin. The only reason she had managed to sit through her tattoos was because her husband had blindfolded her and kept her distracted by talking about something else. And she’d really needed one and wanted the other. Thankfully for Cato, Ana wasn’t the type to look for a shoulder to cry on. She had a much easier time dealing with anger, so when something made her sad she found a punching bag to hit. If she exhausted herself with that, she didn’t have the energy to cry was the logic behind it all and it usually worked. He’d asked, so she felt like she should give an honest answer. Her husband wasn’t dead, just unavailable after all. His silence made her think she’d made him uncomfortable though. “He’ll be back. I just have to help enough people and my family can be whole again. Best part about marrying an angel is that they’re hard to kill. Easier to just imprison them apparently.” While she might be sad he wasn’t with her, she was also glad her daughter had gotten to live. She had loved him even more than before in that moment when he’d taken her place and helped strike a deal. “So you know, if I can help in any way to make life a little easier for you, don’t hesitate to ask.” This was one of Ana’s favorite places to eat. She liked having options and not have to cook all the time. “Feel free to order whatever you want,” she said, feeling like he shouldn’t hesitate to order something because of price or anything like that. She was just happy to have someone to share a meal with for a change.
