This man was absolutely fascinating to Mel. There was nothing monstrous about what he was doing, not in her mind anyway, as long as he didn’t munch on her just for fun. People had to eat, the way she made people hate her, who was she to judge someone for eating people alive? Sure, her way wasn’t quite as messy, but it wasn’t always pretty either. She liked him, simply because she didn’t have to do anything other than sit there for him to be a delightful snack and people like that, people who didn’t need her to act out to be negative towards her, well… They needed to be handled with care. Cherished and not purposefully annoyed. Mel didn’t see a point in holding it against him if he lunged at her after he’d explained it wasn’t always in his control. She would just have to take care to not be edible and it was all good. Melt into a puddle or something if he lunged, wouldn’t get eaten then. It hardly seemed fair to treat someone like a monster based solely on the fact that they ate people. He seemed perfectly decent otherwise after all. The fact that they were in a place the guards could easily just taser both of them was reason enough not to do anything about his shackles now. While she didn’t know what it was like for him, personally, she would rather avoid the taser. “I tend to ditch my guards when I get out, unless they take me to water or a snack, so I don’t really get out much myself. Even if all I’ve done after ditching them this summer is sink to the bottom of the lake to cool off. Basement can only be cooled off so much after all.” Mel felt like the only reason she was allowed to sit and talk to somewhere while eating right now was because she had mostly only been one of three places since May. Pool, lake or her room. When she wasn’t eating or in need of some emotional food. “I’ll be sure to get them off in one of those places,” she added, meaning it too. She might not like following orders or taking things too seriously, but she still liked to feel useful. Even if it was just for something as simple as removing some shackles so someone could use their hands for a bit.
